On October 23rd, 2017 I was driving by the business in question and noticed the large signs for state inspection and wheel alignment for $50. I proceeded to stop in an inquire having the service done on my mini cooper. The gentleman explained that it cost $95 and it will take about an hour to 45 minutes. I asked him the specific question concerning failing the inspection and any fee involved in having the vehicle reinspected? He stated that I had thirty days and a 1000 mile to return. The inspector then took my keys and proceeded to walk around the vehicle doing a visual inspection. He then took the vehicle on the road returning 10 to 15 minutes later. He drove it into the bay and proceeded to test the tint located on my hatchback mini on either side of the back windows. He then walked over to the gentleman I spoke to originally and they began speaking in their native language. After conversing with him he proceeded to place the car on the lift to check the under carriage of the vehicle. He took his flash light and began the inspection pointing out an oil leak which I already knew was there after taking the vehicle to the dealership. He then went into shaking all four tires and then bring the vehicle down to its original starting point. The inspector then went into his office and began writing up his report. While in his office, the gentleman I spoke to originally about the inspection went into the inspector office or working space and again to speak in their native language. The gentleman returned with a yellow piece of paper and began pointing out that my inspection had failed due to three things. The first being the tints on my back side windows were to dark, I needed an alignment and the bulbs on the vehicle were of different colors. He was eager to have me do the repairs at his location, but I declined. Because they were minor repairs I felt I can do them myself. He verbally told me I had thirty days and a 1000 miles to return for the re-inspection. I was charged $40 on my return.
