W R S Appliance / Wyatt's Repair Service Reviews (1)

After searching for months and visiting a dozen granite places, we found that Granite Design carried the color we were looking for (Alaskan White) at the best price possible- almost half off the original place we went. We have a relatively small kitchen and could get all of our counter space out of one slab of granite. We made multiple trips to Granite Design. The first trip was just to see what colors they had. The problems I had with the Alaskan White color was that a lot of the slabs either had a "peach" tone to it, a lot of purple veining, or was more "bright white". The "bright white" color was what we were wanting. During our first trip, there were 3 slabs of the PERFECT Alaskan White color we were wanting. The rest were the peach or purple veining. We were told those 3 slabs we loved so much were already sold, so we had to keep looking. So we asked when they would get more slabs in.
This leads me to our second trip. They let us come the following week after the truck arrival of new slabs. We arrived within hours of them dropping off the new pieces to choose from and found a few slabs of the color we wanted! They assured us that if we were to put half down that day, they would move that slab into a different area and it would be saved for us. We watched them write down that exact slab number on all of the papers I signed as well as label the slab with our name on a sticker in the corner. So, I paid $1,700.00 to be exact that day and we were happy as can be knowing in the next couple weeks when our kitchen was ready, we could go back and do the templating on the perfect slab! I was so excited that I went back out and took a picture of that slab.
Our third trip was the big day! They already came to our home by this point and did exact templating of our cabinet layout. We arrived that day and was taken out to the pieces of granite along with our templates they had made. They proceeded to pull out "our" slab of granite. My fiancé and I stared at it for a while trying to line up the templates with the detailed veining we wanted on the peninsula portion of our counter. Finally, we came to the conclusion this wasn't our slab and ours actually had a small chunk out of the corner. So, we tell the lady helping us "I think you pulled the wrong slab, ours had a chip in the corner and the veining was in a completely different spot." She starts with saying "no, this is yours, it even has your name on the corner." We kept saying it wasn't ours, so she grabbed the forklift guys to start pulling more of the Alaskan White slabs. After about 10 slabs, my fiancé and I stare at each other, thinking they lost our slab that we have searched for months to find! And now are kitchen was ready for the counter top and we are having flash backs of starting the counter process all over again! This process of pulling slab after slab out continues for a good hour. Finally, I took my phone out and showed her the picture out of OUR granite slab that was already paid for and promised to be ours, little did she know I had this picture and she was dumbfounded. She told us she needed to go inside and she would be right back. At this point I was fuming! How could a place that told us our granite would be saved after half down and guaranteed to be ours just be missing?! She came back out and told us that our slab had been sold! At this point I was extremely rude and asked her how that was possible when we already paid for it? And how crappy it was for them to take our name that was on the sticker of our original slab and move it to this one like we never would have noticed! And how it worked when the slabs we originally liked we couldn't have because they were already sold to a customer, so they made us pick again. Clearly these rules didn't apply to ours. She then told us that they had a large sale and these people wanted our slab specifically, so they let them have it.
I'M SORRY, but customer service at this place doesn't exist unless you have a multi-million dollar home apparently. This customer actually only wanted half of our slab so she took us directly to the half piece that was left to see if we could use it. (This made me even more angry that she let us search for an hour when she knew exactly where our slab was). We told her we were not having a seam directly down the middle of the peninsula and at this point would not be paying the remaining balance. We had no choice but to pick a different slab. The installment day came and they forced us to sign a paper agreeing to a measly $600 off so we still owed $1,100 that day before they would start installation. Terrible customer service. They could have went around this issue in a totally different manner instead of lying to us- a phone call to us explaining they sold our slab but we could choose another, that they would give us a discount, edge upgrade, something! Apparently signed papers mean nothing to them. Would not recommend this business to anybody!
