WAAR Carpentry Reviews (%countItem)

Hired them to do some renovation work on my condo. They cut several corners and despite having them come back multiple times to fix their mistakes still left many things done improperly. Including installation of sink and vanity which started leaking days after they finished. They ripped out and installed all new flooring, but failed to level the sub-floor and thus caused the flooring to be uneven in places and it has started to come up.

Hello,

We did in fact do a full remodel on his restroom and installed new flooring in his main living area. Mr. was very pleased with the work and in our estimate it did not include for us to do full patching of his interior restroom walls. Once we completed the work, several days later Mr. contacted me regarding his concerns. We completely agreed to send out the crew again to help him resolve any issue to make sure he was happy. We went over and beyond and applied texture to his entire walls so that they would all match. We did not charge for labor anymore because we really wanted him to be happy with our work. Regarding the flooring issue, it was not on our estimate to repair any sub flooring under his material selected. The material he selected is vinyl and is very thin. Our work is properly installed up to his sub flooring. We asked him several times if he wanted us to fix the sub flooring for him, again free of charge and he said no. Our team did several visits to fix any issues he had and each time we left, we asked him if he had any other issues to please let us know. Once again he replied and said no, that everything was fine. This last leak issue was over a week after we left the job site and I went ahead and sent him another one of our team members and he repaired his leak for $100.00 due to a leaking a/c pipe, which again was not in our estimate or scope of work. But we wanted to make sure he was taken care of in hopes to make Mr. happy. We strive and our best to make all our customers happy but sometimes no matter how hard we try, we fail. At this point, we feel that no matter what we do to his restroom he will be unhappy. We are even STILL willing to do the necessary repairs on his sub flooring free of labor charge if he is open to finding a solution to this. We hope that Mr. will give us the opportunity to better serve him and make it right to his standards.

Hello, thank you for your quick response. I would like to respond to WAAR Carpentery's claims with my detailed experience I had with them. First of all, I was never very happy with the work they did. I was happy that they were finished in a timely manner so that I could move in, but the work itself was not well done at all. After they finished the first time, I had to email them a list of all that was wrong with the work they did. I've attached my original email as well as the invoice they provided for the work they were supposed to do.After I asked them to fix all the work they left undone and work poorly done, (see list below) they then took quite a long time to come back and redo the work. On multiple occasions , they canceled on me at the last minute or showed up very late. They told me they were going to send a whole new crew, and instead they just sent 1 person to repaint the bathroom and fix the floorboards under the vanity. As for the sub-flooring, I told them multiple times that the subfloor needed to be looked at and that they needed to use some sort of leveling compound to make sure the flooring was even throughout the bathroom. They refused to look at the sub-floor at all, and just used some type of plaster to even the area that was coming apart. Then, they tried to just put a bunch of caulkileft to bandage-up all the uneven flooring. I was more than willing to pay for the extra material and time to fix the subfloor. They are the experts; they need to tell me what’s needed. The plumber they sent to fix the leak under the sink said that, in his professional opinion, they had done poor work and had not glued the AC drain valve to the sink drain pipe as needed. WAAR claims that was not their job, but the AC is part of the drain system they took apart when they removed the old sink and installed the new one. Here is my original list of items that needed attention after the initial completion.1. There are grout failures on the lip of the shower flooring, drain, corner, etc. (The grout was redone as much as they could without taking tiles off. There are still spots where the grout is too thick and spots where tiles are uneven)2. The wall by the shower needs to be finished. 3. The wall around the vanity needs to be finished (They did resurface all the walls and repainted all the walls to give the bathroom a uniform look.)4. The floor boards around the vanity need to be put in. (Floor boards were installed but one was not painted like the rest)5. The Flooring around the vanity is flexing and needs to be looked at. (This is the part that needed the most work; they insisted the subfloor did not need replacement; they installed some sort of plaster to even it out so it is better but they floor in front of the vanity is still not as solid as the rest of the floor in the bathroom and there are still gaps between the tiles)6. The light above the vanity needs to be installed.(They did install the light correctly)Regards

Hello,

We are still willing to do the necessary repairs to the customer's subflooring at no additional labor costs. We did indeed ask the customer each time we went if there was any issue that needed to be addressed and his reply was always that all was fine. As far as the sub flooring issue, yes it does need to be replaced but since we did ask him several times and received no straight answer to assess the additional work, we stopped offering to do the work. Our crew did work in a timely manner and since it is such a small confined space a larger crew of more than 2 is not necessary. We did cancel due to rain issues and scheduling purposes even when he had a doctor appointment we were more than happy to come another day. Once again, we are very much interested in performing the additional work he is wanting, at no additional labor cost to resolve this matter promptly. We apologize for any inconvenience that the process has caused Mr. yet we are still willing to communicate and complete his restroom to his standards.

I told them several times that I wanted the sub-floor to be fixed. They were very reluctant, and I was actually under the impression that they were coming over to fix the sub-floor when they just sent over 1 person to reinstall take out the flooring and just reinstall it properly after having left installed with floor coming up. I think at this point I do not trust them to do the proper work to fix the mistakes.

Regards
