WE RECIEVED A CHEVY TAHOE FROM THE CUSTOMER TO LOOK AT REMOVING A BROKEN
STARTER BOLT FROM THE ENGINE BLOCKTHE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO US AND WHEN WE WERE

WE PUSHED THE VEHICLE IN AND PUT IT UP IN THE AIR TO INSPECT ITTHE STARTER
WAS STILL INSTALLED ON THE ENGINE WITH ONLY THE OUTSIDE BOLT HOLDING IT TO THE
ENGINE BLOCKWE REMOVED THE REMAINING BOLT AND TOOK THE STARTER OUT SO WE COULD
CLEAN AND INSPECT THE BLOCK TO SEE IF WE COULD REMOVE THE BROKEN BOLT FROM THE
BLOCKAFTER CLEANING THE DIRT AND GREASE OFF OF THE BLOCK WE COULD SEE A SMALL
CRACK IN THE BLOCK GOING THREW THE THREADS OF THE OUTSIDE BOLT HOLEI AM SURE THAT
WAS CAUSED BY THE ENGINE BEING REPEATEDLY STARTED WITH THE STARTER ONLY BEING HELD
IN WITH THE OUTSIDE BOLTTHIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE BECAUSE
OF THE LOCATION AND DESIGN OF THE BLOCK, THE METAL IS VERY THIN IN THAT SPOTWE
FELT THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE BROKEN BOLT SO I INFORMED THE CUSTOMER,
AND LOOKED TO SEE IF A STARTER WITH A DIFFERENT BOLT PATTERN WOULD WORK IN HIS
TRUCK, WE CHECKED THAT AND FOUND THAT IT WOULD NOT FIT PROPERLY IN HIS TRUCKWE
NEVER EVEN BOLTED ANY STARTER IN HIS TRUCK AND NEVER TRIED TO START HIS TRUCKTHE CUSTOMER
TOLD ME THAT HE HAS INSTALLED SEVERAL STARTERS IN HIS TRUCK, I BELIEVE HE
SAID IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS
THE BOTTOM LINE IS WE NEVER DID ANYTHING TO HIS TRUCK OTHER THAN LOOK AT IT TO SEE
IF WE COULD FIX ITTHE BLOCK WAS CRACKED WHEN WE GOT IT AND THERE WAS NO WAY THE
OTHER SHOP WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE THE CRACK BECAUSE THEY NEVER CLEANED THE
BLOCK OFF TO CHECK ITHE SAID IN THE Revdex.com COMPLAINT THAT HIS ENGINE WAS CK'ED

CALLED US SHE WAS TOLD THAT WE WERE DOING DIAGNOSTIC WORK ON IT. WHEN I TALKED TO HIM I TOLD HIM WE WERE WORKING ON IT. HE TOLD ME HE NEEDED IT ASAP AND TO GET IT FIXED. AFTER OVER 2 HOURS OF DIAGNOSTIC WORK WE FOUND THE ICR WAS BAD. WE TRIED TO CALL BUT WERE UNABLE TO REACH ANYONE AT THE NUMBER THEY PROVIDED TO US. AT THAT TIME I MADE THE CHOICE TO HAVE THE TECH GO AHEAD AND FIX THE TRUCK. I DID THIS BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER WAS VERY CLEAR TO ME THAT HE WANTED THE TRUCK ASAP. REPLACING THAT PART WAS THE NEXT STEP TO DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE GOT IT IN WE FOUND THE OLD ONE BAD BUT STILL NO HIGH OIL PRESSURE. IT APPEARED TO NEED A HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP. IN REGUARDS TO THE ENGINE FOR MR [redacted]. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT WE HAVE HEARD THAT HE IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH HIS ENGINE SINCE IT LEFT HERE BACK IN 2013. WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO LOOK AT IT IF HE BRINGS IT IN TO OUR SHOP....

AT THAT TIME WE CAN ALSO CHECK INTO THE PARTS THAT HE SAYS ARE NOT CORRECT. I CAN SAY THAT ALL OF THE PARTS PUT IN THE ENGINE ARE LISTED ON HIS INVOICE AND THE SPRINGS THAT WERE INSTALLED ARE THE SPRINGS THAT ARE RECOMMENDED BY THE CAM MANUFACTURER. THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT PISTONS THAT CAN BE USED IN THAT ENGINE, IT DEPENDS ON THE USE AND WHAT COMPRESSION IS DESIRED. I GUESS THE BOTTOM LINE IS WE HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO TAKE CARE OF ANY MISTAKES WE MAY HAVE MADE AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO LOOK AT THE ENGINE IF HE WOULD LIKE TO BRING IN THE ENGINE OR THE CAR.

I do not feel comfortable and will not be bringing my car or the engine back to their shop. I found a reputable engine shop that understands what components go together when building an engine. Specifically yet, a moderate performance based engine, that is more than just a stock rebuild, with a cam, such as what I received.
I specified which pistons I wanted from the start (Keith Black KB107) and I got stock replacement pistons. The pistons I asked for would have bumped my static compression up to the 9.5:1 and my dynamic compression up to 7.6. Which I needed for the cam shaft as well as the performance aspect I was looking for.
As for the valve springs, I called Comp Cams myself and talked to them. They told me the recommended valve springs for that cam do not fit the magnum heads. In fact they don't even make a valve spring that fits magnum heads. Wagamon Brothers said they installed Comp Cams 901-16 valve springs. This was a flat out lie. They installed stock magnum valve springs that are not rated for my particular cam.
Those are two major components as to why I cannot get my engine to run properly. I feel that [redacted] Brothers owes me for the correct parts, but they will not be touching my engine or my car to install them. I'll have someone else to do that. I found the correct valve springs, keepers and locks as well as the correct pistons, piston rings and wrist pins that I need. I'm asking for a check in the amount of $643.88 to be mailed to me so that I can purchase these parts on my own. I will pay for the labor to have someone else install these components for me and to also fix the oil leak that started again.

Wagamon Brothers would be willing to supply the parts that Mr [redacted] has said he needs to do the repairs. I would like him to supply the part numbers and of coarse return the old parts to us. We believe that is fair to both parties. I don't know of any company that would just send a check out without never having had the opportunity to look at the problem. We really do not even know if everything said is correct. There maybe other things contributing to his problems. I am certain that if he supplies us part numbers we can provide them to him very fast. Of coarse after this we will not be responsible for any future problems he may have. We think this is a very good solution that is very fair.
