Have a 70hp Yamaha outboard that was rebuilt by Jim's outboard rebuild shop After evaluating other outboard shops within the state of FL, and given warranty, Jim's shop was evaluated as being the best offered for rebuild His company employees traveled appx miles to remove my old blown motor from the transom w/o added cost and did same to reinstall it after rebuild of power head and lower unit Upon arrival to remove the motor, his employees were with professional demeanor and with competence with removal of a well salted in motor bracket/bolts w/o harming the transom That job in itself was a pain to them, as a slightly drunk car mechanic friend screwed up and rounded the bolt nuts trying to remove the motor as a friendly favor for attempt to provide a simple p/u for Jim's guys Ever hear of using PB Blaster on the bolt before drinking and going at it He forgot Did the boring break in of the motor as stated within literature received with warranty And thanks to Yamaha engineering and Jim's block repair and solid rebuild, this motor still screams today as if it were just purchased new in The important part of my outboards longevity is that I followed Jim's provided written material to the word Now a cousins good, but fanatical saltwater fishing daughter runs the motor as a replacement to her original (now defunct) Johnson motor on her boat My Yamaha rebuilt by Jim's shop is still going strong as ever since the past & half year of her having it, but will eventually seize up due to excessive salting of motor's internals ( never freshwater flushing of motor after use) and wide open throttle from the get go after starting the motor (no watime) Similar to how she drives her car, and that gift to her from parent's still looks like a million, but the motor is shot! I was a mechanic in the military for gas and diesel vehicles, and can say that [redacted] knows about his business with outboards and has proven that to me as a customer

Have a 1968 70hp Yamaha outboard that was rebuilt by Jim's outboard rebuild shop.
After evaluating other outboard shops within the state of FL, and given warranty, Jim's shop was evaluated as being the best offered for rebuild.

His company employees traveled appx 350 miles to remove my old blown motor from the transom w/o added cost and did same to reinstall it after rebuild of power head and lower unit.
Upon his employees arrival to remove the motor, they were well equipped with tools, of professional demeanor and competence with removal of a well salted in motor bracket/bolts w/o harming the transom.

Doing the break in of the motor, as stated within literature received with warranty, was flat boring. And thanks to Yamaha engineering and Jim's block repair and solid rebuild, this motor still screams today as if it were just purchased new in 68.
The important part of my outboards longevity is that I followed Jim's written material to the word.

Now a cousins good, and fanatical saltwater fishing daughter runs the motor as a replacement to her original (now blown) Johnson motor. My Yamaha rebuilt by Jim's shop is still going strong as ever since the past 1 & half year of her running it, but will eventually seize up due to excessive salting of motor's internals which causes overheating (never freshwater flushing of motor after use) and wide open throttle from the get go after starting the motor (no warm-up time).

I was a mechanic in the military for gas and diesel vehicles, and can say that Jim knows about his business with outboards and has proven that to me as a customer. I have since recommended his outboard rebuilds to others and haven't heard of their complaining. Obviously they broke their outboards in right and take care of their investment.

I would never do business with [redacted], nor will I EVER recommend him to anyone. He overhauled my engine for 4000$ and it has never run since. He always blamed me for the problem, saying I put in bad gas everytime. He seems to do this alot from the posts I have seen from other disgruntled customers. Just go to www.theHullTruth.com and look him up. His company name is Wahoo Marine, but when I had him do work for me it was Northwest Florida Outboard. Please do your homework with this guy. I know for me, I work way too hard for my money for this guy to come in and take it from me and get absolutely nothing but the runaround in return. Boating is expensive enough and for him to take my money and not deliver on any of his promises, is a sin. This is all my personal opinion and experience with [redacted] and his company but I beg you to go to the site I mentioned and you'll see that I am not alone.
