Response to the complaint is complicated because complaintant fuses multiple complaints into one complaintI hardly know where to start as this whole situation started as a minor laceration due to boarder anxiety at being left at our clinic, which I believe complaintant knew was a possible problem before he dropped her off with us and failed to mention to usShe injured herself in a furious effort to escape the run she was inHis accusation that we had had this problem with other boarders is totally and a death of a boarder is totally preposterous-totally falseI considered to agree to reimburse him for his immediate expenses for her minor surface laceration since he did not feel comfortable coming back to our clinic for that immediate careI get that, but not his adding on every future medical bill she ever had for her regular medical care, unrelated to the skin lacerationFor instance the [redacted] , 8/10/bill for her annualphysical exam/heartworm check/ heartworm prevention medicine for the following month totaling $Nor did I know anything about the diarhea problem she developed sometime after she left our clinic (see invoice from [redacted] dated 2/13/totalling $170.37)We have never seen or diagnosed a case of [redacted] at our clinic in years, and for him to assume she contracted it our clinic and had it for months is also preposterous- totally a add on, way out of line with what I offered to reimburse him forThe gauze from [redacted] ($12.97), wound closing strips ($9.99), gauze again ***, 7/14/($5.00), antibiotic cream ($5.99) all seemed fair but then continual add ons are surprising and unrelated to her initial minor injuryEven if you add in the original board bill (we didn't charge him for the original minor surgery to close the wound) the total only comes to the original agreed settlement of about $

In response to Mr [redacted] complaint, which by the way I have been responding to for almost a year now to no avail, [redacted] was NOT severly injured at my clinic as he would like to tell the storyShe sustained a shallow 1/- inch skin only laceration when she jambed her front leg betyween the bottom bar and the heavy duty chain link fence of her indoor kennel facilityThis is something I have never seen in my years as a veterinarian accomplished before by any dog- a testimate to her strength and extreme separation anxiety- and something that Mr [redacted] failed to tell us when meeting he and [redacted] for the first time at boarding drop off at our clinic No other dog has ever been injured at our clinic severly or otherwiseNo employee of mine would ever be able to say that and therefore I can only assume that Mr [redacted] totally fabricated that statement And finally, Mr ***'s memory serves him poorly- [redacted] was in fact treated for a [redacted] infection in Feb of 2017, months after her "upset stomach in July of No veterinarian on the face of the planet would ever try to "connect the dots " on two such events so far apart and say they were the same event Therfore I can only conclude that Mr [redacted] has a very active imagination in retelling this story, and I believe he is trying to extort money from a hard working, clean and honest businessIt's a different amount every time I hear from himand can be as little as $for his actual post incident treatment (which I offered to do for free but he refused) to as much as $to the most recent demand of $ It should be noted also that Mr [redacted] has concluded my "fault, guilt, and willingness to settle" when in fact I have never accepted that I was at fault, guilty of nothing, and only willing to settle for his actual costs of getting [redacted] medical attention when he refused my offer to recheck her and recommend possible treatment for free- that amt was the $amt Thank you for your interest in my dilemma with Mr *** [redacted] , DVM

Back on July 8, we housed our dog named *** with Wailuku Pet Inc, owned by *** ***, DVMShe was severely injured with a major gash which they told us was "minor" while on the next island over and needed our verification to perform a surgery on our petThis was totally out of line and their associates working there at the time told me more dogs had been badly injured on their "fence"Mr*** tried to call me and apologize for his bad fencing and offered reimbursement of housing billing for my petHe wanted to check my pet, but I told them that "they had done quite enough damage already"My dog was sick to the stomach and throwing up after her stay there and came down with *** disease which I also had to pay for out of pocket due to Mr***?s negligent facility I have wanted to sue for my personal medical bills and traumas being exasperated since my dog is not an ordinary pet, but a certified service dogI will also sue for my dog?s injuries at a

Response to the complaint is complicated because complaintant fuses multiple complaints into one complaint. I hardly know where to start as this whole situation started as a minor laceration due to boarder anxiety at being left at our clinic, which I believe complaintant knew was a possible problem before he dropped her off with us and failed to mention to us. She injured herself in a furious effort to escape the run she was in. His accusation that we had had this problem with other boarders is totally false and a death of a boarder is totally preposterous-totally false. I considered to  agree to reimburse him for his immediate expenses for her minor surface laceration since he did not feel comfortable coming back to our clinic for that immediate care. I get that, but not his adding on every future medical bill she ever had for her regular medical care, unrelated to the skin laceration. For instance the [redacted], 8/10/16 bill for her annualphysical exam/heartworm check/ heartworm prevention medicine for the following month totaling $102.88. Nor did I know anything about the diarhea problem she developed sometime after she left our clinic (see invoice from [redacted] dated 2/13/17 totalling $170.37). We have never seen or diagnosed a case of [redacted] at our clinic in years, and for him to assume she contracted it our clinic and had it for months is also preposterous- totally a false add on, way out of line with what I offered to reimburse him for. The gauze from [redacted] ($12.97), wound closing strips ($9.99), gauze again [redacted], 7/14/16 ($5.00), antibiotic cream ($5.99) all seemed fair but then continual add ons are surprising and unrelated to her initial minor injury. Even if you add in the original board bill (we didn't charge him for the original minor surgery to close the wound) the total only comes to the original agreed settlement of about $177.00.

I am rejecting this response because:It is not me that is fabricating these events. I have heard these facts from past and current employees who know about the injuries because they worked in the facility itself in the back with this "fencing" that Mr. [redacted] alleges hurt my dog. I will give names at a later time of such employees. I would never do anything illegal. His "minimalization" of my dog's injury are just that. He had no guard on her head and neck so that she did not bite her own wounds when I picked her up on July 11, 2017. You think 1 1/2 inch of wound is not significant on an area where the skin is less than a quarter thick on a boney area with skin? We had to treat our pet ourselves with antibiotics from a a pet facility in Kihei and our own topical antibiotics due to lack of trust in Mr. [redacted] and his Wailuku Pet Clinic facility (because the injuries occurred there). I have never through the duration of this asked for $177.00 That is just boarding fees. He offered to reimburse medical fees. We had been trying to figure out what was wrong with my dog for months. I took her to [redacted] Pet Clinic because Mr. [redacted] breached our trust with our family member and service dog, [redacted]. Neither [redacted] or [redacted] Pet Clinic could verify what was wrong with my dog's stomach or digestion. We had to tolerate it for months until we came to a great clinic in Kahului named [redacted] which actually cares for pets and figured out that her stomach issues were due to [redacted] disease which she showed signs of acquiring since having left Mr. [redacted]'s facility. Mr. [redacted] is twisting facts as he goes along and I do not accept his response. $3000 was asked due to our family's emotional and mental distress as well as medical bills, reimbursement, punitive damages for his negligence and more. When he seemed that he was being reasonable with his letter in August 20, 2016 it took us time to respond with what we felt seemed realistic that he would pay us including excess fees that would normally be sought in a Civil case which has to start at a minimum of $5000. If we were "gold diggers"as the man has stated here we would already filed a civil suit against him for my exasperated medical conditions effecting me due to my wounded service dog. $777 has been our requested settlement for months on end. This is not a surprise to him. He was notified by letter to pay us $777 so we would not have to go to court on the matter as I am trying to be reasonable for all of the harm that him and his facility have done. He is either wrong or dishonest when he says I do not have proof or knowledge of other pets injured at his facility.  We are aware of a fatality even.  All we want is what is fair. When looking at our medical bills the minimum he could pay us s $450 for the physical bills. We went easy and asked $777 for our physical, mental, and emotional state. You hurt our service dog you really hurt our family. This is not some kind of joke. Either be honest and settle when you offer to or be recognized as not being integral and having good business practices. A deal is a deal and he signed on paper his willingness to settle. Never once did we offer to accept any price under $777.00.  Mr. [redacted] is either very forgetful or being very dishonest to save his pocketbook and hurt our family.  I have graduated with several degrees in college this year which were towards my future career as a high school teacher/college professor not an extortionist as Mr. [redacted] has chosen to represent me as here.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

My bills are in the minimum of $450 dollars should I take out expenses for [redacted]. He was told my dog was ill and not eating well, throwing up, and having digestive issues from the beginning. Yes, I have been well informed of other injuries and my dog has never had any anxiety at any shelter I have left her before. This is no excuse. Please let me add this response to the complaint since I never received notification of Wailuku Pet Clinic?s response at all on my emails. I could only back track once I put my email in and your message tells me that my case was closed which for me is ok in the sense that I am unsatisfied. $177.00 that he wishes to settle is very small and I did not want such a lousy surgery where my dog got infected from it being performed on her. My preference is $777.00 If all Mr. [redacted] can offer is $177.00 then yes, I am still not satisfied. He is right that my treatments elsewhere were due to not trusting him to touch my dog again. My dog had to be checked out for everything after this incident. Everything costs money.  He does not seem to understand all the other trauma we were put through. I can have [redacted], who I regularly have watch my dog, verify that she has been perfectly fine when she had to be sheltered there. In fact she hardly wishes to leave when we come and get her. $472.00 is the lowest that I can reasonably accept without wishing to take it to civil court if we cannot agree on $777.00 Thanks for all your help. This message needs to get to Mr. [redacted] as I did not have a chance to respond to emails I did not receive from the Revdex.com until after the fact. Mahalo!Sincerely,[redacted]

Aloha e [redacted],So, these are the main bills and I am trying to be fair by not throwing in the airfare refund for having to schedule an earlier flight home from Big Island. Anyways, when I said in the least it exceeded $450, after using a calculator we are in the $600 plus dollar realm and I was asking for  some extra compensation for things normally we would go to court to ask for, but I did not ask him for our plane flight reimbursement or we would be up to $900 plus dollars. $777.00 was a number that is not all we had been asking for, but for us was a decent enough middle ground to end all disputes and bad feelings. After looking at these bills he may say it is less than $777.00, but if you figure how much it costs to fly a different flight at $150 per person plus some 20 dollar service fees he can see we are not trying to pull a fast one. Asking $777.00  is better than asking $977.00 dollars. We will eat the misfortune of having to reschedule our plane and those costs due to our dog's injury if he meets us part way towards it for our own traumas and injuries that do not come with a price tag or receipt. Otherwise he can see again our plane tickets which we sent him a copy of also. This is all I have to say for now. I do not like fighting or arguing with people. We ask he "fix it" like he promised to do in his first and second letter and on my cell phone that Thursday, July 14, 2016 evening where he verifies and admits he "fixed" the fence which caused these issues. That did not settle with us and our injuries though as of yet. Mahalo for your patience and time.Sincerely,[redacted]

In response to Mr [redacted] complaint, which by the way I have been responding to for almost a year now to no avail, [redacted] was NOT severly injured at my clinic as he would like to tell the story. She sustained a shallow 1 1/2 - 2 inch skin only laceration when she jambed her...

front leg betyween the bottom bar and the heavy duty chain link fence of her indoor kennel facility. This is something I have never seen in my 45 years as a veterinarian accomplished before by any dog- a testimate to her strength and extreme separation anxiety- and something that Mr [redacted] failed to tell us when meeting he and [redacted] for the first time at boarding drop off at our clinic.  No other dog has ever been injured at our clinic severly or otherwise. No employee of mine would ever be able to say that and therefore I can only assume that Mr [redacted] totally fabricated that statement.  And finally, Mr [redacted]'s memory serves him poorly- [redacted] was in fact treated for a [redacted] infection in Feb of 2017, 7 months after her "upset stomach in July of 2016. No veterinarian on the face of the planet would ever try to "connect the dots " on two such events so far apart and say they were the same event.  Therfore I can only conclude that Mr [redacted] has a very active imagination in retelling this story, and I believe he is trying to extort money from a hard working, clean and honest business. It's a different amount every time I hear from him. and can be as little as $177.00 for his actual post incident treatment (which I offered to do for free but he refused) to as much as $3000.00 to the most recent demand of $777.00.  It should be noted also that Mr [redacted] has concluded my "fault, guilt, and willingness to settle" when in fact I have never accepted that I was at fault, guilty of nothing, and only willing to settle for his actual costs of getting [redacted] medical attention when he refused my offer to recheck her and recommend possible treatment for free- that amt was the $177.00 amt.  Thank you for your interest in my dilemma with Mr [redacted].   [redacted], DVM
