All too often these days, we repeatedly hear of poor 'customer service', gratuitous service charges and shoddy workmanship, and as well as knowledge of such experiences SHOULD BE widely disseminated as a forewarning to Others, I would like to share the ABSOLUT OPPOSITE and to recommend unequivocally... a hard-working Master Mechanic!

Last August, my wife purchased a 1998 Ford Escort station wagon and we found it running rough and stalling at idle after the engine had warmed. Wallace Automotive had worked on several of our family's vehicles in the past and had always provided first quality servicing and at reasonable cost. In the August transaction, our little wagon had required a fairly-extensive amount of engine restoration.

A week ago, once again, her daily commuter wagon began experiencing the same symptoms. The wagon has a code reader port and upon using a reader, we learned the car had developed either a vacuum leak or the mass flow sensor was sending incorrect fuel metering. Both my son and myself have a fair knowledge under the hood but in three attempts were unable to isolate the source of that air leak. I contacted [redacted] last Friday and asked when he might have time to look at it. He was able to spare time this Monday morning and we left the vehicle and its factory service manuals in his care.

It is approximately 3/4's hour from Wallace Automotive to our home. We had just reached our home when [redacted] called with the good news that he had isolated and REPAIRED the source of the leak BENEATH the intake manifold in the cramped confines of the little 4 cylinder engine. While certainly relieved... awaiting 'the other shoe to drop' I asked what I owed in fair compensation for his expertise. He replied that on this particular occasion there would be NO CHARGE and that we could pick the vehicle back up at our convenience.

Ladies & Gentlemen, LET IT NOT BE SAID that there are NO 'honest Mechanics' in Volusia County!
