Wallace Nissan of Kingsport Reviews (%countItem)

I was told I needed a $1,200 repair on my car for a part my car doesn't even have.
I have a 2009 Nissan Rouge. I purchased it new at Wallace. I have always had it serviced at Wallace. I took the car in for service in March, 2018. I told them I had a leak on the driver's side. They told me the axel boot on the passenger side was busted and I needed a new axel. I trusted the dealership and had the repair done costing approx. $750. A few months later, my car was still leaking in the same spot. So, I took it back. Was told it was residual grease. A few months later, it was still leaking in the same spot. Was told the same thing and given a free oil change. On 12/20 I took it back for service and told them there was still a leak. This time, while in the waiting lounge, I was told the transfer case was leaking oil, and it would be $1,150 plus tax and an 8-hour repair. When I checked out, I was told if the transfer case were to go dry, it would lock the engine up, and the repair would be a 2 day job. After I got home, I had more questions. So I called the service manager. She told me that the seal between the transfer case and the transmission was leaking and the car was leaking transmission fluid. I felt my car was unsafe for my 2 children to ride in. Since the technician said the car was leaking oil from the transfer case, and the service manager said it was a seal leaking transmission fluid, it raised a red flag. We reached out for a second opinion and talked with multiple mechanics. My receipt says my transfer case is leaking. My multipoint inspection paper the technician filled out while looking at my car says there is a leak in the transfer case. My Rogue is Front Wheel Drive and does not even have a transfer case. The leak was coming from an axel seal. The same axel that Wallace replaced. The leak has been in the same spot since March 2018. I seriously doubt that my car ever needed a new axel since it didn't fix or change the leak.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the real repair, which is currently ongoing. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the axel repair (approx. $750) which never fixed the leak after multiple complaints) and I would like to be reimbursed for my remaining Nissan Rewards Points (approx. $55) since they are non-transferable.

Customer was told transfer case seal was leaking due to the service writer getting incorrect information from parts dept. pricing a transfer case seal instead of an axle seal. Labor was misquoted based on labor to replace transfer case seal instead of axle seal. Customer did not have repairs done. She went to an independent repair shop and and had repairs made. General Manager, Service Manager and Sales Manager explained to Ms. Harwood the mistake. No repairs were done here and we insured the customer that if the repairs had been done here it would been discovered before repairs started that vehicle was not an AWD and would have been given a different quote. The axle seal was leaking and did need to be replaced which she had done elsewhere. The axle that was replaced in March of 2018 was replaced due to the axle boot slinging grease.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
While looking at my car, the technician wrote on my multipoint inspection paper (previously uploaded) that the transfer case was leaking. Unless gave me false information, the technician knowingly made this 'mistake'. This could not be a simple miscommunication between the service writer and the parts department. I gave them several opportunities to correct this mistake when I called multiple times asking questions about the repair they said my car needed.

As for the axel boot, we never complained of my car "slinging grease". I never heard this until I started asking questions about the transfer case. The axel never fixed the leak. And given Wallace's current record with me of dishonesty, I seriously question if that repair was ever needed since the leak remained.
