Response to id# [redacted] Inboxx Jett Painting < [redacted] >10:PM (hours ago)to me Mr and Mrs [redacted] called me after I sent them a quote that included carpet installationThey stated that they also would like to have their large deck finishedI told them that because they are allowing me to do the carpet install AND the painting, I would do the large part of the deck for freeThey stated that they were not looking for anything for freeI stated that I appreciated them allowing me renovate their home and that I didn't have a problem with doing the deck for free if I did BOTH the painting and carpet install They agreed Days later they sent me an email stating they decided to hold off on the carpet, which was certainly their right, but then our agreement for me to do the deck was null and void I was also asked to include a quote for repairing the small part of the deck and repairing drywall in the basement due to water damageThis way they knew what to have the previous tenant to repay them for repairing damages they (previous tenant) causedIn regards to the tree removal, that was something we discussed however, I did not give them a price for itI never charged them for tree removal, quoted them a price for tree removal, nor agree to remove the treeI stated that I would contact someone I knew who does tree removal to have him come out and take a look and give them a quoteMr [redacted] Oct 12, called me and stated he was at the home and wasn't happy with the progressI met him and Mrs [redacted] at 5pm that eveningHe stated that he had people coming to do work in the bathrooms, so he needed me to me doneThey didn't make sense to me for him to have the bathroom painted when your going to have work being done on itThat Thursday October when I was at the property working, their son in law [redacted] informed me that there was carpet being installed on Friday Oct 16thI informed him that they could start either upstairs or in the basement where all the carpeted areas were because all those areas would be done when they arrived on on oct 16thAccording to the complaint they filed with the Revdex.com on Oct 15th they stated "the carpet is at the store and they are wanting to deliver it now, but none of the painting has been completed, therefore there is nowhere to store the carpet in the home" is not trueIf they wanted to deliver the carpet that day they could have absolutely stored it in the garage where there was plenty of spaceFurthermore since October 15th was the date the work was scheduled to completed I was in my right to be there working on that date.I understand that I did not complete the work on October 15, as agree and I have explained why I was behind schedule and apologized to the customer for any inconvenienceI also did everything in my power to complete it as quickly as possible; including have someone working through the night and two more of us working during the dayAt least two men were there from am til at least 11pm.Walking into the garage to begin working on it I noticed that the ceilings were buckled in at least two (2) placesI didn't want to be liable for causing any further damage to it when I roll the paint on the ceiling so I offered to refund Mr [redacted] three hundred dollars ($300) because the garage was apart of the contract; even though I forgot to include the garage in my bid (that was my mistake) I was still wanting to refund them what I would have charged them for painting it

The verbal agreement I made with Mrand Mrs [redacted] on September 13, was that for them allowing me to install the carpet along with the other work I would do the large deck for freeThey chose to go with someone else for the installation of the carpetI had no knowledge of that decision until I spoke to their son in law mid-week, he asked if I would be done by the October 15, because they had carpet being installedUp until that point I was still under the impression that I would be doing the carpet at some point, because I was told that they were putting the carpet on hold the the time being. In regards to the garage when I originally looked at the garage I did not take note of any damage to the ceilingWhen I went to actually paint the garage I noticed that the ceiling is bucklingThere is potentially a major problemIf the ceiling were to be rolled, there is great chance that it could in fact give wayI do not want to aide to any further damage Therefore I offered to refund them $which is what I would charge for painting their garageThey should look to receive the refund by the end of the month. On October 21, I met with the daughter and son in law and did a walk thruThey addressed areas they felt needed attentionI agreed to fix those issues and didOctober 27, I turned the key over to the son-in-lawI spoke to him later that day and he told me that the areas that were pointed out during the last walk through looked a lot betterI told him that if he had any other concerns or questions to contact meOn November 1, I sent two emails to the client with the final pictures and also letting them know that once they are able to see the house for themselves that I can address anything that may need attentionAs of today November 13, I have not heard anything from them

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To this point, all efforts to resolve this dispute amicably have been futile.  I will pursue this issue via a different manner and now consider this complaint with the Revdex.com as closed.  Thank you...
Regards,

The verbal agreement I made with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] on September 13, 2015 was that for them allowing me to install the carpet along with the other work I would do the large deck for free. They chose to go with someone else for the installation of the carpet. I had no knowledge of that decision until I spoke to their son in law mid-week, he asked if I would be done by the October 15, because they had carpet being installed. Up until that point I was still under the impression that I would be doing the carpet at some point, because I was told that they were putting the carpet on hold the the time being. In regards to the garage when I originally looked at the garage I did not take note of any damage to the ceiling. When I went to actually paint the garage I noticed that the ceiling is buckling. There is potentially a major problem. If the ceiling were to be rolled, there is great chance that it could in fact give way. I do not want to aide to any further damage.  Therefore I offered to refund them $300 which is what I would charge for painting their garage. They should look to receive the refund by the end of the month. On October 21, 2015 I met with the daughter and son in law and did a walk thru. They addressed areas they felt needed attention. I agreed to fix those issues and did. October 27, 2015 I turned the key over to the son-in-law. I spoke to him later that day and he told me that the areas that were pointed out during the last walk through looked a lot better. I told him that if he had any other concerns or questions to contact me. On November 1, 2015 I sent two emails to the client with the final pictures and also letting them know that once they are able to see the house for themselves that I can address anything that may need attention. As of today November 13, 2015 I have not heard anything from them.
