I am responding to Mr***’ complaintI am very surprised and disappointed to receive this letter, as he has left out several important details in his complaint and suggests he is a victim of “frud” (I’m assuming he meant “fraud”) at our business.First, Mr***’ was not charged
$for two cooling fans for his Dodge Charger as he stated he was; he was charged $for two cooling fans, a new radiator, antifreeze, A/C charge (including Freon), labor charge, and NC Sales TaxWhen he initially brought his car in for us to check, it was running hotWe noticed right away that the blades on his electric cooling fans had come apart and had gone through the radiator, puncturing itWe agreed to fix this problem for him and ordered the parts for his car (two cooling fans that come as a set and a radiator) through 1-800-RADIATOR, a nationally-known auto parts companyThese parts are ordered per application and are made specifically for this carWe fixed his car and it was running fine when he left.When Mr*** returned to let us know that his car was still running hot, we told him that he may need to have his car checked for a blown head gasket because the cooling fans were operating correctly upon checking themA blown head gasket can also make a car run hotWe referred him to M & L Motor Cowho would be able to help him in the case that his car should have a blown head gasket.The next time we saw Mr*** he said that M & L Motor said that we put the wrong cooling fans on his car and that they put new ones onHe showed us the bill from M & L MotorI was baffled that the cooling fans that we put on his car could be wrong as they bolted up perfectly, plugged right in, and worked fineHowever, we told him then that we would be happy to refund the cost of the cooling fans only (approx$for the set) if he would only bring us the cooling fans from M & L Motor so that we could get them warrantiedHe said that he couldn’t get themI called M & L Motor and asked about the work they did to Mr***’ carI was told that nobody there was really sure about what was done to it and the cooling fans were NOT there and they didn’t know where they wereThey also had no idea how the cooling fans made specifically for that car that we put on could have been wrongStrange.When Mr*** nor M & L Motor could produce the supposed incorrect cooling fans, I agreed to reimburse Mr*** for the cooling fans if he would only bring us a copy of his receipt so that we could know exactly how much he was charged for the cooling fansHe said he doesn’t have his receipt eitherMy original offer to refund him for the cooling fans only on his car still standsIf he cannot find his receipt, I will reimburse him with a check for $(that’s approximately what the set lists for) and tax if he will come by our shop.At NO TIME was anyone RUDE or UNPROFESSIONAL to Mr***At NO TIME was FRAUD committedI take it seriously that Mr*** has accused my business of fraudWalt’s Radiator Shop has been in business since I personally have been there for over years and owned/ operated it almost years and at no time have I ever taken advantage of anyoneGod has truly blessed our businessWe work hard to help peopleIf something is not right, we will do everything in our power to make it rightIn this situation, I feel that giving Mr*** money for cooling fans he has not returned and without a receipt that he cannot produce is more than fair.
