We were recomended to walton contractors by our architect, they started work on our property on 4th november and the first week they were very attentive and worked ahead of schedule and we were wowed by them., after the demolition was done, everything turned corners from here on....after that first week, I would see the workers working on our property only for 3-days in the month of november, and the same in december and on asking why and where they have been, we were given bunches and bunches of excusesWe kept going as what choice we had at this point....January after new year, they barely picked up steam and slowed down again blaming everything on city inspectors....which was bunch of excuses again! I hired Walton contractors this past summer to help me in filing an insurance claim for my roofI noticed they had several ongoing roofs in the area so I decided to give them a callThey had a sales rep inspect my property and handle the whole claim process making it easier on my lifeI have never filed a claim before and quite frankly did not know how toThe sales rep met with the adjuster as promised and got my roof covered plus more! I was stunned, and when it came to the work actually getting started it was phenomenalThey did a great job protecting my garden and my front deckThey cleaned up very well after themselves and the roof was perfectThank you Walton contractors for the help! Further more, [redacted] from Walton contractors went and spoke to [redacted], and we communicated to him personally that we could not do the work for FREE that he had to pay for the additional work that he wanted to get done. [redacted] told [redacted] that the work that he wanted to get done needed new contract for that additional work that [redacted] needed. We were recomended to walton contractors by our architect, they started work on our property on 4th november and the first week they were very attentive and worked ahead of schedule and we were wowed by them., after the demolition was done, everything turned corners from here on....after that first week, I would see the workers working on our property only for 3-4 days in the month of november, and the same in december and on asking why and where they have been, we were given bunches and bunches of excuses. We kept going as what choice we had at this point....January after new year, they barely picked up steam and slowed down again blaming everything on city inspectors....which was bunch of excuses again!
He would not give us any updates, the material that we were suppose to order(like doors, vanities, tiles, faucets) he would call us a day before starting to install them and give us a ton of run around. I sat with the designer to design the kitchen, I had to run around to find the appliances and all of this was always like...
Contractor Call: We need to start selecting the paint color like now....
Myself and My Husband: would drop everything march to the property and select the color, 2 weeks later he would have not even started painting...
Everything was like that, he needed it from us NOW and things would be laying without getting installed forever.
His workers also broke our vanity top and I had to order new one., which he didn't pay for., they also broker our vanity mirror cabinet and I had to order new one again. Made dents in my kitchen aid brand new very expensive refrigerator and just blamed it on [redacted]....all he said was "the dent existed before". Well if it did, he should have called us and let us know and we could have got it exchanged from [redacted]...?
Tons and tons of change orders and asked more and more money from us all the time.
Also finished our rehab July 31st, dragged it out to like 8 months, and as per the contract is charging us $10K for getting home inspection approvals and till todays date that has not happened and today is 1st September!
Also they lied to us and told us that we have passed electrical and HVAC inspections, and luckily we ran into home inspector and he confirmed that we have not passed any inspections period....
Also he built the garage not as per the plans that the architect drew, and did the same thing with the ventilation in the garage and now after the whole house is finished, city inspector failed the ventilation inspection and asked us to install two new windows in our basement like two weeks ago and this contractor has not fulfilled that either.
If you pay them before hand.....its extremely hard to get them to be accountable for anything...
I will definitely definitely not work with them ever and would not ever recommend them to anyone., City should take away there license for there bad business practices!
I was very impressed with the quality of work that Walton Construction did for us on our deck. Walter was very helpful in the design of the deck and was involved throughout the whole project. Walter and his team were really straight forward and we felt that we could trust them, from the start. They were extremely friendly and professional. Best of all, we have an incredible outdoor living space to enjoy and very jealous neighbors. Walton Construction made this a wonderful and painless process.
