Ward Animal Clinic

I dropped my 1 year old dog off to be spayed. I had previously spoken to the lady and told her how my dog was in heat and I couldn't afford more puppies and how the cops been by my house but never did find the dogs owners luring on my property that were after her. I wanted to know options, weather there was a birth control for dogs, or a pill to kill of sperm for them etc. We decided in the long haul of options money wise spaying was the best way to assure no chances of pregnancy. So we dropped her off to be spayed. I even paid up front for her shots, her rabies, and the spay to be done. $150 some dollars. We never got a call that day or the next she was done and ready to be picked up. So we called and they said she can be picked up. She didn't act right. But after surgery, I expected some discomfort for her. She hi stepped on her hind legs and tip toed on her hind legs as she walked. They never tattooed her showing she was fixed, nor left a drain tube in her for access fluids, nor a cone around her head to avoid her biting it open nor gave her vomit medicine or pain medicine or instructions on care or anything I suspected. After getting her home she kept vomiting everywhere and peeing like the Niagara falls. I called the vet to ask if this was normal. She had to ask the guy who did her surgery and came back on the phone and said yes. I told her it just didn't seem right. She still didn't act right. I could see so much pain and misery in her eyes I never seen before. I stayed up with her until 2am worried sick about her, my husband until 4am. Between 4am-6:30 she passed away. I guess she held on long enough for us to not see she wanted to let go. But my youngest (9) son woke up to her in the bathroom floor dead and cold. Followed my oldest (10). I wanted answers I cried and pleaded I wanted answers why my dog was dead to them. The receptionist said the guy who did the surgery would not be in that day. I wanted to properly bury her but I held onto her in case he wanted to do an autopsy to give me answers. Finally the receptionist called back later that day and said bring her in and IF it was their fault they would give us our money back. We waited all day from that morning to the next morning still no call or answers TRYING to be patient. We again had to call them back. She told us she didn't know if he had a chance to get around to it. I'm thinking in the back of my mind "you seriously have my dog just laying there dead and not finding answers when you're the one who told us to bring her in" but she went to ask just in case. She gets back on the phone and tells us "she bled to death internally". Not saying she was sorry, that it was their fault, they would give us our money back to come in to get it etc. NOTHING. So we ask if she could at least be picked up then so we could bury her as planned. When she then told us she was "already discarded". By this time I'm furious and way to emotional to deal with them. They discarded our dog with no consent to do so! This place is a joke! When it comes to just shots, yeah they're okay to deal with. Payment wise they work with you. But when it comes to something serious like this, when I paid up front. I'm beyond upset. I will go to every source I can to make sure this never happens again. And apparently from what I've been hearing recently is this had happened more then once to others too. Had I known that we would've never went there for this procedure. She was our family! Never in a million years did I expect to wake up to her dead over it. They discard the evidence cause they knew they were at fault!!!!! And I don't want anyone else having to endure the pain we still share to this day!!
