Company was hired to remove trees and left without completion despite a signed contract. Lied about returning the next day, still has not returned.Ward's Tree Service was hired on July 10, 2014 to remove 3 trees and various debris from [redacted] in [redacted] MA. [redacted] walked me around the job and was paid a deposit and signed a contract stating it would all be completed on the 10th of July.BEfore finishing, [redacted] stated his workers were tired and he needed to return the following day to finish. He tried to give me a bad phone number to reach him, thankfully his son corrected him. [redacted] never returned and it took weeks to get him to respond on Craig's List where he lied about the job requirements and refused to return to finish. After more emails, he finally agreed to finish "when he had time". He never returned and stopped responding to emails and phone messages. The job he was paid for remains unfinished. Despite the contract stating that debris would be removed from the property, he just threw it into deeper into the woods on our property and left a very large stump, despite the contract stating it would be flush to the ground. [redacted] was paid [redacted] for a job he never finished. We can see that we are not the first customer he has tried to steal money from for an incomplete job. HE seems to work until he is tired and then take his money and ignore contact from the customer. We need help to force him to honor his contract.Desired SettlementWard's Tree Service needs to return and remove the stump, flush to the ground, and the debris they left on the property.Business Response I [redacted] did tree work for [redacted], completed job for him and was paid in full for the work I did. He called a couple days later and said that I forgot to cut the stump. Which was a simple mistake on my part. I didn't give him a wrong number nor did I rip him off. He originally lied to me about the job stating there was less on ground then what there actually was. I didn't give him a fake number. I was giving him cell number instead of land line. I will gladly go back and flush the stump to the ground and removes stump wood. I didn't leave anything behind. He wanted me to do another tree for extra money but I told him I was going to pass. So he kept that money and was paid for the work I did. I didn't rip anyone of and nor did I plan to. I will be sending him an email right now to ask him which day works best for him to do stump.

Complaint[redacted] from Ward's Tree Service came to my house to do some tree removal. He looked at the trees and gave me a written quote of $200/tree to cut them down.I had 5 trees for removal. I paid him $500 deposit (I have receipt).[redacted] cut down one tree and left and never returned.Product_Or_Service: Tree RemovalDesired SettlementSince he only cut down 1 tree and the quoted amount was $200 I would like $300 of my deposit refunded
