On May 27, ReNew Roofing signed a roofing job for [redacted] and [redacted] Before a contract was signed, our products and installation process were discussed in great detail since [redacted] asked question after question because he wanted to make sure he knew what was going on his roof and how I ended up making three revisions of the estimate before he signed, and he insisted that battens had to be installed even though I told him this was unnecessary and left him literature stating that this roof did not require battensDuring this time it was also discussed that ReNew Roofing sub-contracts out some of their work At this time they were also provided with the sub-contractors certificate of insurance, so they were well aware of this prior to the start of the job When I first met with [redacted] and ***, they were very pleasant and I actually looked forward to working with them They seemed happy with me and with the work I would be doing for them I was informed by both [redacted] and [redacted] that [redacted] has Alzheimer’s and that he can be rather difficult to work with, and all decisions were to be made by [redacted] and to not listen to what [redacted] said The day we started the actual work, they were against everything we did This took me by complete surpriseReNew Roofing hired Affordable Exteriors out of Bloomer, WI, which is owned by [redacted] , to do the roof for [redacted] and *** Once [redacted] arrived at the site for the first day of work, he was there for not even minutes before [redacted] came out and started yelling at the crew and calling them incompetent motherf*ers After he did this, [redacted] told him to come back out and apologize Once they finished the job, [redacted] requested a representative of the Metro Shingle product to come out and inspect the roof I complied with this and met the rep out on site The rep, ***, pointed out two minor things that should be addressed ReNew Roofing employees addressed these issues There were several things that [redacted] and [redacted] wanted ReNew Roofing to do that were outside the scope of the contract They kept adding things that they wanted done that were never discussed and agreed upon by both parties and therefore were not in the contract In regards to the custom aluminum window wraps, they changed their minds three times After we had already over half the window wraps done, they decided they did not like the color they chose, so they had us tear them off and start over with a different color In an effort to make a happy customer, we did as they asked even though that would have been considered outside the scope of the contract Then once again, when we were close to be half way through the window wraps with the new color, they then decided they did not like the style they chose They decided to go from a simple window wrap to a more detailed and intricate one which would require much more time to do We again agreed to make the changes, but I informed them at this time that this is the final time we would do this, and if any other changes were to be made, they would be billed accordingly After this was discussed, [redacted] had asked if [redacted] could paint the remaining windows to save them money, I did not have an issue with this [redacted] kept going up on the roof and inspecting things himself, when he did this, he would dent the metal shingles And since he has Alzheimer’s he would complain about those dents the following day and tell us to fix them I asked him repeatedly to stay off the roof and he said ok, but [redacted] kept informing me that he would go up there after we left for the day Every time that [redacted] was on the roof, it bothered [redacted] that he was up there and in our way, but she didn't make him get off She simply stated to me that since he never listens, if he falls, let him lay there One of the big arguments during the job was battens [redacted] insisted that battens had to be installed on the roof before the shingles were installed I explained to him that this was a batten-less roofing system and that they were not necessary, I even showed him paperwork from the manufacturer that proved this as well He still argued and insisted, and I had the battens installed at his requestThe three different revisions of the estimate also reflect this Then after the Metro rep came out, the rep had mentioned that battens were not necessary but they did not affect the roof [redacted] then accused ReNew Roofing of installing the roof incorrectly and demanded that we tear off the roof, remove the battens, and reinstall the roof, at our expense Since I had told him from the start that battens were not necessary and that the rep said they did not affect the function or quality of the roof, I did not do this There was some caulking that had to be done on the job, and we had caulk that we typically use, but this was not good enough for [redacted] He requested a special kind of caulk and therefore it was asked of him if he could supply one tube of caulk to finish that minor detail We finished the job and finished the two minor issues the Metro rep pointed out, and it still wasn’t good enough for [redacted] The Metro rep that came out even said the roof looked good and that we used better materials then were even recommended [redacted] wasn’t happy with this, so she called and asked for a different Metro rep to come out and take a lookThis rep did not say the roof needed to be replaced either So three people, other than ReNew Roofing employees have stated that the roof does not need to be replaced and that it does in fact look good Two reps from Metro, [redacted] and [redacted] , and my material rep from ABC Supply, [redacted] LeCount So even after the roof was finished and the changes were made that the reps pointed out, and even after these reps stated the roof looked good, they were still unhappy and called a number of different roofing companies to have it inspected by these other “competing” companies After they were able to get a competitor to come out and recommend them to have the roof replaced, [redacted] contacted [redacted] , the SrMetro Represtative After [redacted] spoke to ***, I spoke to [redacted] and he filled me in on the conversation he had with her He told me that [redacted] had another company come out and tell them that they needed their roof replaced and she requested that he give them a discount on new shingles He obviously did not go for this [redacted] told her that he was out there, he made short list with minor changes, the items on that list were addressed by ReNew Roofing, and the roof looked good, and any other concerns or issues they have, should be taken up with ReNew Roofing After final payment, I have not received one call from [redacted] or [redacted] with any concerns or issues with their roofSincerely, [redacted] ReNew Roofing LLC [redacted]

Renew roofing states I did not try and contact their main officeI have called that number times and got an answering machine all three timesI left messages all three times and was never called backI sent Mike [redacted] text messages on two different occasions and respectfully asked that the owner of Renew come out so that I may speak with him about this jobMr [redacted] stated that he would not come outI then asked for the owners phone number so that I may call him, I was told I could not have his numberMr [redacted] states in his reply to you that I have not contacted him about this job, which I have on numerous daysHe also states that this is an ins***ce job which can drag on for monthsMy insurance company settled this very quickly and I have had all the money in my bank account since July There is no other way to say this but Renew roofing is flat out lying in their response to the complaint I madeI have all text messages I have exchanged with Mr [redacted] since JulyI had to replace a window by myself because Renew roofing did not and it was a part of this claimThe workmanship on the roof is not professional and the edges are not straitRenew roofing went as far as asking if I had extra siding on hand for my house so they would not have to order it

We did not receive any phone calls from [redacted] on our main line We have the phone records to prove this We received a call from him back in October and when we received that call, we sent Mike [redacted] out to discuss any issues The roof was replaced per our contract and there are no issues with the roof I would recommend [redacted] contact John [redacted] who is an Owens Corning Representative and does product installation inspections We installed an Owen's Corning roof and he would be the appropriate third party inspector to take a look at the roof His number is ###-###-#### As for the window, I am unsure what was discussed between him and Mike [redacted] his sales rep, but I have no issues with removing that line item from his invoice In regards to the siding, it is not uncommon for a contractor to ask the property owner if they have any extra siding on hand, especially if it is a discontinued product, which this was Mr***'s siding was discontinued, and our contract with him was to only replace a few pieces that were damaged Since his siding was discontinued, we were struggling trying to locate this siding from any suppliers This is when we asked him if he happened to have some on hand We did eventually end up locating some at a supplier in Madison, WI Not exactly close by But locating and obtaining this siding, did take some time The final repairs have been started, the remaining material is coming in tomorrow 11-28-and we will be finishing those repairs this week

We have never once refused to complete the job for *** He suffered storm damage and this is an insurance job Insurance jobs are never quick, they drag out for many months The roof has been replaced already and there is nothing wrong with the roof [redacted] has not once tried to contact the direct office or me for any concerns He does have my contact information There are some siding repairs that need to be made yet, and it was scheduled with [redacted] yesterday 11/20/to come out tomorrow 11/22/to go and complete those repairs If a client has concerns and can't get a hold of their sales rep, then they should contact the main office This was not done And all repairs will be done tomorrow 11/22/2017, so there is no basis for this complaint
