MY DOG DIED AFTER A ROUTINE DENTAL CLEANING AT WARNER VISTA ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I will try to make a tragic story as short as possible. Preliminary blood work prior to cleaning reflected a lower-than-normal white blood cell count probably due to an allergy medicine prescribed by [redacted]. I was not informed and the office proceeded with the dental cleaning. That night she was quite ill and I returned to the office the next morning where it was explained to me that there are “diva dogs” that take a longer time to recover from anesthesia and to force her to get some exercise. (She could not even walk!!) Her condition worsened. The following morning I rushed her to Emergency Animal Clinic where they tried valiantly to save her life. $2500 and later that night, my precious girl was gone. They explained that she must have aspirated during her procedure and because of her low white blood cell count and no antibiotics, she was not able to fight off any infection and it quickly turned into sepsis. Now I do not know what caused her to aspirate during the dental cleaning but I do know because of their office procedures and [redacted] negligence in not trying to discern why she was so ill the following day, my beloved dog is gone. I received no condolences from Warner Vista and they have refused to pay for the medical bills.
