For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below/attached. Repairs to this issue are more substantial than what Warren's Engineering is currently offered. We have repeatedly attempted to explain the situation to Mrs. [redacted] several times over the phone and through the attached correspondence.  The original report is also attached such that we can show how thorough our inspection was.  There was no problem evident with the drains at the time...

of inspection; an inspection that she did not attend (her husband did attend).  Despite our attempts to logically discuss this with her, she told us on the phone that we, in her words "do not know how I roll".  She inferred to us that the facts do not matter and she will get what she wants, despite the facts.  Prior to that conversation, in the interest of goodwill and client relations, we were prepared to give her the original fee/money back. We subsequently still offered her the original fee back, despite her rash behavior and confrontational behavior, but she has recently refused the refund via email and is asking for an amount close to three times the fee to pay for plumbing repairs of things that were not evident as part of a home inspection.  I am afraid that she is a client that cannot be reasonably satisfied, but time will tell and I hope that I am incorrect about that.

We have acknowledged the customer concerns.  We have revisited the house to get a full understanding of the concerns.  We have spoken over the phone with the customer to understand these concerns fully.  We have also corresponded via email and written letter.  This correspondence has already been provided to the Revdex.com.  During the home inspection performed on August 30, 2017, there was no indication of a drainage problem. The drains were working well and there was no drainage backing up into the sink.  We were contacted by the customer about concerns with the drainage and plumbing in early November.  We performed a standard home inspection for the customer.  A standard agreement, which was signed by the customer, is attached for reference.  This clearly explains the scope of the inspection.  The agreement clearly states,"This is not a compliance inspection or certification for conformance to past or present codes or regulations of any kind.". It also states, "The inspection is not a guarantee or warranty regarding the condition of the building and it is agreed that inspector's liability will be limited to the amount of the fee charged."  We do not believe that our inspection services were deficient in any way, and our services go above and beyond what is required as part of a home inspection.  We have communicated extensively with the customer.  Nevertheless, we have offered to return the full inspection fees of $540, which includes the fee for a radon test that was reliably performed.  We do not provide a home warranty, and that is something that can be purchased from other companies.  We cannot offer to do anything more than refund the original inspection fees in this specific case, and we will do this, if the customer agrees to this resolution.
