Wasatch Valley Fencing, L.L.C. Reviews (1)

Review: We had a fence installed by Wasatch Valley Fencing. During the demolition of our old fence, he did over $300 in damage to our sprinkler system. Never once did he say he wasn't responsible for any damage and there wasn't a contract. In fact, I pointed out the sprinklers and he told me not to worry about it. We had someone come repair it and when we tried to deduct that from the fence, he became very abrasive and rude and threatening. We paid the fence in full. We didn't receive the warranty or a receipt. He later texted us threatening and using foul language against my wife as well as telling us we aren't getting a warranty. He threatened us with litigation if we gave him a bad review on his website.

In response to Mr. [redacted] complaint, First of all, We arrived the day to start the job as promised, which was to tear out all of the old wood fence and cement mow strip. It was stated to Mr. [redacted] that only the corner blocks and end blocks of fence posts would be taken out as per his bid. All other posts would be cut off at level of grass and dirt areas. Mr. [redacted] then insisted that we pull every block out of every fence post including his neighbors which was not part of the written bid. We did this in good faith. During the tear out of the North fence line, two sprinkler heads and 8 feet of the sprinker line was damaged. Mr. [redacted] was informed at the time of the bid that any accidental damage was not our responsiblity. After damage to sprinklers was apparent, I stated not to worry, that I would repair them in good faith. During the completion of the job a week later, Mrs. [redacted] became very agitated at my company and the way were doing the job. She did not understand how vinyl fencing was installed and complained about the gaps under her fence that were caused by the removal of the cement mow strip. To try to make things better for the [redacted] I had my employees shovel dirt and gravel from the neighbors yards to the north and fill underneath the fence. Also, we were asked by Mr. [redacted] to do extra work which was not included in the bid such as moving the dirt, hauling off old steel pipe, removing all of the concrete blocks and re-attaching wire fence to the vinyl on the west side of his yard and moving all of the wood pile and drebris on neighbors yard to the South during tear out. During the completion of the fence my employees and I could hear Mrs. [redacted] stating racial slurs about mexican labor and making negative comments as she walked away. All in all we did the very best above and beyond of what was promised. During the final hour of completing the job, [redacted]'s buddy showed up and spent 30 minutes repairing the sprinkler damage, which I had offered to fix at the beginning. I have had 15 years experience of a landscape/sprinkler installer and was very capable of repairing the minor damage and every intention of doing so. I know that it does not cost 320.00 dollars to fix such a small damage to the sprinkler. At the time of final payment of the project Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] stated that they were going to withhold 320 dollars for sprinkler damage which was very unfair considering the above facts. We left the job site minus the 320.oo dollars. Mr. [redacted] called minutes later and told us to come back and get the money. If you will look at Dexknows advertising, you will see reviews that show very happy customers. Not at any time has anyone ever accused my company of such things. We feel that the [redacted] were trying to take advantage of our company financially and still are.

Consumer's Final Response /* (3000, 9, 2013/05/22) */

We want our warranty on our installed fence! The business owner is still intentionally withholding our warranty!
