I am rejecting this response because in the end I took this trailer in to determine its safety and to see if any service was necessary.  I was provided no documentation from the business that any work was done. They told me that a nut was replaced on the fender and that otherwise the trailer was fine and to "bring it back in a year or two."  The facts remain the same; no documentation that the trailer was serviced or looked at; verbal assurance that the trailer was fine; failure within a 100 mile trip with potentially catastrophic consequences.  Yes, there are no guarantees in life, I fully understand that; yet this series of events has lead to a lack of confidence and trustworthiness with this business.  Given the high stakes of a loaded trailer failing; a high standard is necessary and I believe this business failed to meet that standard.  Others should be aware.

In response to this situation, I spoke to the customer about what was performed. The trailer was inspected. All tires and tire pressures checked. The frame of the boat trailer was inspected. Found the passenger fender board was loose; a nut was installed. Electrical was inspected. Trailer was jacked...

up to check for bearing lash, none present.We did have the trailer for a couple of weeks, and felt it was fair to not charge the customer for any labor of the inspection. There are many reasons for a bearing failure. The customer was spoken to and he is not being fair with us. We are sorry you had a bearing failure and we wish you the very best in the future.
