Washington Automotive is proud to offer affordable pricing to our local community of Washington. It's our mission to offer great service at a better price than anyone in our area. Unfortunately, we could not satisfy Mr. [redacted] who brought us his 2009 Suzuki xl7 in for a major power steering leak....

Unfortunately for Mr. [redacted] cars power steering pump and power steering line were leaking profusely on the ground as well as a severe oil leak from the crank seal, valve cover and timing cover. After informing Mr. [redacted] of these issues and telling him it would be $772.88 to just fix the power steering leaks and thousands of dollars to fix the oil leaks so Mr. [redacted] could decide if he wanted to put that much money into a car with 194,000 miles on it. Mr. [redacted] elected to just fix the power steering fluid leak because it was the worse leak. He also at that time informed us that he knew he needed a power steering pump and he already put a USED POWER STEERING PUMP in his car for us to install. Using Mr. [redacted] used pump lowered his bill to $461.51 and we informed Mr. [redacted] that there would be NO WARRANTY expressed or implied on installing his USED PUMP. Mr. [redacted] elected to still have us put his supplied part on.After we repaired Mr. [redacted] power steering leak (which included a new line) we test drove his car and felt no issues with his steering at that time as well as the Power steering fluid was no longer leaking onto the ground. After delivery Mr. [redacted] Called and stated his power steering was not working all the time and power steering fluid was still leaking on the ground. We asked him to bring it in asap. After we got the car back in the shop we could not find a power steering leak, but the oil leak was still leaking. We did feel the steering was stiff at times. After trying to inform Mr. [redacted] that a lot of things can cause this such as, oil on the serpentine belt, power steering rack, power steering assist motor and power steering pump we wanted to try replacing his used pump with a known good new part because it's the most logical thing to suspect since Mr. [redacted] Stated the intermittent problem only started after we installed Mr. [redacted] Used Pump. We reminded Mr. [redacted] at this time that he would have to pay labor again because he elected to take a chance on a used part to save money. Mr. [redacted] refused to pay the $138.00 in labor to replace the pump again (not $461.51 again because that price including a line and labor to put the line on). Also, not offering a warranty on a customer supplied part new or used is the industry standard.Washington Automotive looks forward to offering great service at the lowest prices in our area however after Mr. [redacted] being the first complaint in our 4-year history on Revdex.com we may have to reconsider putting on any customer supplied parts in the future, that decision is still pending my final decision.Sincerely, Owner,Christopher T[redacted]
