Mr [redacted] , On October 7th you placed an order for a 10yd box to dispose of a shed and other household debris You did not specify what type of shed or debris, but the general description fell within the guidelines of general debris, or C & D as described by the industry You were quoted the standard price for a 10yd box, which is $for the delivery, removal, days in between the service days, and the first 2,lbs of disposal You were also quoted a rate of $per pro-rated ton (includes taxes to city) for any content weight over the included 2,lbs, and that all charges above the initial prepay of $would be charged to your card at the time of invoice the following week The box was scheduled for delivery on October 9th and a pifor October 12th On October 12th, we picked up your box at 7:10am The driver drove directly to the disposal site we use for all Portland loads of your type This disposal site is located on [redacted] in the industrial area of Portland, and is called [redacted] The driver went across the scale, received a “Gross” weight, which includes the truck, box & material After he dumped, he received a Tare weight, which is the truck & box only The Net weight is the difference between the Gross and Tare, which calculated at tons Our driver received a weight ticket at the disposal site, wrote the ticket number on the weight ticket, and turned in all of his paperwork at the end of the day On Monday, October 20th the final invoice was generated for the box you had with us showing a balance due of $for the tons over the included weight Over the phone you conveyed your concern that the tonnage for the box you had with us was incorrect I sent over a copy of the weight ticket you requested and heard no response until we received the consumer complaint in the mail I will provide you with all of the information I have in our files to help show the weight we received is your weight Please see the facts below and refer to attachments · The driver who picked up your box only hauled loads to [redacted] on 10/12/ One ticket was for your box, and the other ticket was for a customer who has disposal go on their own account at [redacted] When disposal is placed on this customer’s account the name of their company appears on the ticket along with their account number with [redacted] The tickets are distinguishable by the clearly printed customer name, therefore there is no confusion between the two accounts Your ticket was under Multnomah County Drop Box · [redacted] prints a ticket for the driver to pair with his paperwork and emails over a copy of the ticket a couple minutes after the driver has come through The ticket provides the time the driver went through the disposal site In addition the driver writes his drive time from picking up the box to the arrival at the disposal site The driver’s work ticket shows the haul time from 7:10am – 8:00am The weight ticket from [redacted] was printed shows the driver in @ 7:56am & out @ 8:03am which matches up with when the driver would have been weighing the box · In our office we have GPS tracking on all of our trucks Looking back at the driver who hauled this box we can pinpoint the time of the haul from the pilocation to the disposal site The box weighed at [redacted] at the time on this ticket was the box picked up from your address The box we picked up and weighed at [redacted] was the box from your address The weight ticket we received is the weight ticket generated for the box we picked up at your address We take every precaution in making sure the paperwork is correct and customers are charged the amount due for the box they filled We record the weight from the disposal sites weight ticket as it is printed In addition, as a licensed hauler, we report all tonnages & materials to City of Portland and other jurisdictions we serve The disposal sites also report the tonnage brought in by our company, and all of these figures must match If we were not to report matching data to that of the disposal site, we would be required to provide documentation to the City to show otherwise During your call to me to dispute your box weight, you expressed a concern over the calibration of the disposal sites scales We are unable to answer any questions you may have concerning the calibration of scales at the disposal site All disposal sites within the Metro Region are monitored, licensed & regulated by Metro & DEQ Any questions you may have about scale calibration would need to be directed to [redacted] 503-683- We haul boxes on a daily basis to their disposal facility but we are two separate companies Any dispute about weight due to calibration of scales would not be the responsibility of Multnomah County Drop Box Service I hope this has You were quoted the standard price for a 10yd box, which is $215.00 for the delivery, removal, 3 days in between the service days, and the first 2,000 lbs of disposal.  You were also quoted a rate of $99.30 per pro-rated ton (includes taxes to city) for any content weight over the included 2,000 lbs, and that all charges above the initial prepay of $215.00 would be charged to your card at the time of invoice the following week.  The box was scheduled for delivery on October 9th and a pick-up for October 12th.
 
On October 12th, we picked up your box at 7:10am.  The driver drove directly to the disposal site we use for all Portland loads of your type.  This disposal site is located on [redacted] in the industrial area of Portland, and is called [redacted] The driver went across the scale, received a “Gross” weight, which includes the truck, box & material.  After he dumped, he received a Tare weight, which is the truck & box only.  The Net weight is the difference between the Gross and Tare, which calculated at 1.62 tons.  Our driver received a weight ticket at the disposal site, wrote the ticket number on the weight ticket, and turned in all of his paperwork at the end of the day.  On Monday, October 20th the final invoice was generated for the box you had with us showing a balance due of $61.56 for the .62 tons over the included weight. 
 
Over the phone you conveyed your concern that the tonnage for the box you had with us was incorrect.  I sent over a copy of the weight ticket you requested and heard no response until we received the consumer complaint in the mail.  I will provide you with all of the information I have in our files to help show the weight we received is your weight.  Please see the facts below and refer to attachments.
