Washington Pavements Reviews (6)

We requested an estimate in early April and the estimator was prompt and efficient We immediately scheduled for the work to be done Over the next weeks, we were called by the owner to re-schedule different times as each time no one showed We then called the company ourselves three times to see when our work would be done and received no answer Finally, in July we got an email from the owner saying that we had cancelled the job, which never occurred When I referenced that we had never cancelled and asked when the job would take place, I never heard a thing againOur driveway is roughly feet so I can only imagine it was too daunting Either way, customer service and the actual work response is very much lacking here It's easier to tell a client "we cant do the job" and save everyone's time and effort

***,
Thank you so much for the update
I was contacted by the company on Oct 15th and the work was scheduled for Oct 16thNo one from the company showewd on the 16th or 17th
I recontacted the company on Oct for a responseThe owner said he would see "what's going on and get back to me shortly"
I have not heard from him since the 21st
I will probably file a new complaint based on the company's failure to complete the work
Best regards,

We requested an estimate in early April and the estimator was prompt and efficient. We immediately scheduled for the work to be done. Over the next 6 weeks, we were called by the owner to re-schedule 3 different times as each time no one showed. We then called the company ourselves three times to see when our work would be done and received no answer. Finally, in July we got an email from the owner saying that we had cancelled the job, which never occurred. When I referenced that we had never cancelled and asked when the job would take place, I never heard a thing again.
Our driveway is roughly 3000 feet so I can only imagine it was too daunting. Either way, customer service and the actual work response is very much lacking here. It's easier to tell a client "we cant do the job" and save everyone's time and effort.

Review: I am submitting this complaint on behalf of myself and our neighbors who reside in the pipestem on [redacted], ([redacted] (Ret), [redacted], [redacted], [redacted]). I have include excerpts from a letter I sent on 1 July 2013 which captures the nature of the complaint. "Dear **. [redacted]

The families within the [redacted] cul-de-sac contracted with you to resurface the roadway servicing our homes commonly referred to as the “pipe stem”. [redacted]. [redacted] represented our common interest and I supported her as an alternate.

Unfortunately, the asphalt which you laid down has not been of adequate quality, with the pipe stem road showing signs of deterioration within weeks of its installation. You and I have discussed this on more than one occasion most recently on 23 May 2013. During the 23 May phone call we agreed that the pipe stem would need to be patched where it had deteriorated and sealed at no additional cost to us. Further deterioration has taken place since that conversation and our concern is that the situation is not getting better over time. Also during that conversation we discussed the scheduling of the work and agreed tentatively to the first week in June. However, this did not happen without any communication on your part. We discussed that this type of repair work was normally done on the weekends and that schedules would slide “right” (i.e. later) based on weather conditions. I reiterated that we are reasonable and want to make this work and understand scheduling challenges related to weather. Lastly, I stressed the need for better communications as it causes unnecessary upset and anxiety on behalf of the homeowners.

I have tried contacting you multiple times over the past three weeks. I spoke with someone in your scheduling office and left my name and two phone numbers where I could be reached. Over the last week I’ve made more than five calls and left voicemails requesting a callback to discuss our situation and when it will be resolved. I have not received one call back. This is disappointing to say the least and suggests that our concerns and interests are not being taken seriously which is troubling.

To resolve this issue we would appreciate a face-to-face meeting no later than 12 July 2013 to discuss the way forward. The meeting place will be the [redacted] pipe stem. At this meeting we will discuss specifically what work will be done, i.e. identify all areas that need to be patched/reworked before sealing and a date certain on which our project will start and finish.

I look forward to your prompt reply and a resolution to our situation. If I do not hear back from you by 7 July 2013, I will be exploring other remedies to satisfy our concerns. Please contact me at the above address or by phone .......................................................

Sincerely,

[redacted]"

To date, I have heard nothing from Washington Pavements as to how or when they plan on taking corrective action.Desired Settlement: Our desire as stated in the letter is to have Washington Pavements communicate with us/me on a date certain that the will repair and seal our pipestem road otherwise we want a full refund and will find another company to complete the job.

Review: The conttract involved a new concrete driveway at the address residence. The contract was executed in May 2013 and carried a 2 year gaurantee on all work. The driveway was installed in late May 2013. The surface finishing work was never completed nor a contract requirement to apply Artex on a 10" x 16" area at the garage entrance.

Washington Pavements (WP) was contacted in August 2013 to complete the work. WP claimed an an inspector was sent out, but no record of the inspectors visit was provided and the work was not completed in 2013.

In January 2014, cracks appeared in the driveway and WP was notified including pictures of cracks. WP responded that an inspector would be sent out, but provided no follow up of the inspectors visit.

In February 2014 surface "flaking" appeared on the driveway in several locations and WP was notified including pictures of the affected areas. WP said an inspector was sent out and that all work would be scheduled when the weather cleared.

By July 2014, no work had been scheduled or complete. On July 15, 2014, WP was requested to provide a date when the work would be doine. On July 23, WP responded that the work would be scheduyle "soon".

On July 26, an unanounced WP workman showed up to do the cracks and flaking. I was out of town and my wife was home alone and did not answer the door. Additionally, my car was parked in the driveway covering a portion of the craked area. WP sent me a text to "move the car", which is a stick shift and my wife does not drive a stick shift. The work was terrible and rough and the workman was rude.

On August 4 I sent WP pictures of the crude work and instructuctions to never send a workman to my house without prior notification. WP did not respond.

On August 12 a follow up request for update was sent. WP responded that a scheule was being "worked out".

On Sept 26 a folow up request was sent. As of Oct 1, WP has not responded.Desired Settlement: Including matching crack repair, flaking correction, full surface finishing and [redacted] garage entrance.
