The date of service with the collection agency 10/28/15. $193.75 was went to the collection agency because for that date of service the patient did not have medical coverage with Missouri Medicaid. Per the Missouri Medicaid web site the patient did not have medical coverage because she had a... $225.00. Medicaid will not consider for payment any charge until the patient has met their spend down amount. I have attached a copy of the Missouri Medicaid web page showing the spend down amount for October 2015 and that it states her coverage was inactive. The patient should be aware that she had a spend down. Since $193.75 is less than her spend down amount of $225.00, the patient is financially responsible for $193.75.
