Waste Connections of Wichita Reviews (%countItem)

sometimes my reactions are more intense then the situation or reality dictate.
When questioning increases in my quarterly invoice I responded with the same kind of condescending tone as was visited on me.
When I complained to corporate my account was closed.
They stole onto my property and took the can that was behind a closed gate. This was early in the morning.
Such abuse is common and folks like the Revdex.com do nothing.
I'll still file a complaint, knowing full well you will never be in touch.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Full repayment, with an apology for coming on to my property, after I specifically asked you not to. When I say full refund, I mean the total $

In regards to the concern from Mr.. We received a call from him on ***. He screamed and cursed at the customer service rep. He continued to scream and curse at the manager, not allowing anyone to try to speak to resolve any concerns. This is not the first time Mr. has been abusive to our employees. When he ended the call, he then emailed in. We confirmed/advised again in writing that we will be closing his account. He continued by calling the corporate office and had a similar call with the receptionist there, and again with our Division Vice President. Screaming and cursing.
We never want to lose a customer, and are always happy to try to work through any concerns. We were not given that opportunity in this case. Unfortunately we can't allow our employees to be abused over the phone and in person, as happened with this customer in the last 30 days, as well as other bad calls documented over the years on this account.
We have rushed a refund through for the unused service/remainder of the billing cycle that was paid for. That check was cut and mailed to him last week.

The company claims that their tender ears could not hear the terrible things said o them.
When I was called by the manager it was moot, his employees stole onto my property under cover of darkness, after I had requested that no one come to my home prior to my hearing from corporate.
The "refund included a *** dollar cancellation fee.
As the company chose to de3al in bad faith this is unacceptable from my perspective.
I paid for a quarter of service on ***.
When I questioned charges on my invoice, that are not in our contract.I was informed that the company could charge whatever they wanted, as the contract was more than a year old.
***
I paid $*** for three months of weekly service, as the company chose to terminate our contract it is nor up to me to payn a penalty.
I am owed at least $, because the $*** was a result of more fuzzy math this company seems to undertake.
The fact they trespassed is just them threatening my person.
*** being cheated out of even $*** hurts.
Companies can get away with cheating ***, because institutions like the Revdex.com are ***.
There was a time when Revdex.com helped the little guy, but as the amount is less then what you spend for lunch.....

The payment that was received in *** was to pay the quarterly billing that was due in *** for the ***/***/*** service. We did not charge this customer a fee to pick up the container (the cancelation fee that was mentioned). We refunded the full 5 weeks of unused service.

Refuse to send corrected bill
I cancelled this service in *** for a company with a better price and service. My bill was paid through *** so the *** was my final pick up. They took the cart also at that time and were to bill me *** for the cart pick up. I received a bill for ***. I have contacted them 3 times requesting a corrected bill. They have yet to provide this. An automated call comes in the evening after business hours threatening an interruption in our service. We haven't HAD their service since ***. All I want is a bill for the *** cart pick up and to finally be rid of this *** company.

Desired Outcome

I simply want them to provide me with a correct bill for *** for the cart pick up. I have always paid my bill in a timely fashion and this is very upsetting. The customer service is awful.

We spoke to this customer the first of *** to explain that the updated final invoice would be coming out on our next billing date of ***. This went to her email, as that was how she requested to receive invoices. She called us on *** to advise she didn't find where she received that email. We called her back and promptly sent a paper invoice by mail per her request. We spoke to the customer today to confirm that paper invoice was received and she remitted payment by mail earlier this week. This should be resolved at this time.

How can this company have an A+ rating? The company recently bought out ***. The letter we received did let us know that we can no longer expect to have the cans returned to our drive way. Ok, can live with this (have to because we paid up until February). Last week, found trashcan laying on the curb (no wind), today the lids were left open and we are expecting rain. Sad, since *** was wonderful.

Overcharged for services
I feel like I am being overcharged. They are charging me for removing a dumpster and bringing one back. *** dollars both ways. On top of that they are making me pay one months service upfront. I have been using the garbage removal service for 12 years now, never before have they done this. I realize I'm not real prompt with my payments at times, I am on the road almost all the time. This is a bit extreme I feel. They have never charged a delivery-pickup charge before or required payment in advance.

Desired Outcome

Refund of the delivery/pickup fees. *** dollars

The account in question is 2-4 months past due each time we receive a payment. In this case we sent out invoices ***, ***, and *** with no response. Starting *** we called and/or emailed a total of 11 times in addition to the 3 invoices. We advised in the last few calls of the potential for collections and the can to be picked up. With 14 attempts of contact and no response, we were forced to pick up the can and attempt further collections efforts.
When we pick up cans due to cancelation or nonpayment, we do have to charge to dispatch a special driver to perform that work. The customer had similar fees when their residential cart was picked up in the past. They also had to prepay the next billing when they had the cart picked up in the past. We did not charge a "late fee" only charged for the services provided.
What we would suggest for this customer would be to go online and set up recurring payments. When the customer is out of town, the billing can be automatically paid by the due date to avoid suspension and additional fees.

(The consumer indicated he DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They explained this was common practice. I'm gone during the week, I'm usually in areas of almost non existent cell phone service. Every time auto payment was attempted it never works. I paid my bill I guess on the same day the dumpster was picked up, didn't even notice until the first of the week when I was contacted. My business started this trash collection in ***. This is normally how the bill was paid for 4 1/2 years with no pickup of the dumpster ever. Even with the mixups with no trash pickup a few times, I never complained. There were even times when trash was not picked up until the bill was paid but this is ridiculous. We all have customers that are like this but they are customers. If I treated my customers like this they would go elsewhere but you don't face that consequence because there is no competition

The customer has had a container picked up and was sent to collections in ***. There were fees for those container trips at that time. There was also a container delivery fee when we increased the container size in ***. The container was picked up at 8:23am on ***, and Mr. called in a payment at 4:41pm over the phone for the past due amount. He then spoke to our collections rep on *** to make the prepayment and container pick up and delivery fees to reinstate the services.
As was stated before, we made 14 attempts to reach out to the customer and picked up the can just before sending the account to collections. We made multiple 2 hour trips to pick up and redeliver the container. The fees that we charge only cover part of the costs to send a special truck to the location for those services.
In an attempt to work with the customer, we will be willing to credit the account $*** ($*** per fee) as a courtesy this one time. We will need to have the account paid by the due date going forward to avoid future suspension, container removal, and/or collections.

I highly recommend a different trash service than Waste Connections. We have had their service since 2013 and only switched to them due to a neighborhood rate. They locked us in to a 24 month contract. If you don't submit a letter within 60 days of your 24 month term, they automatically renew your service for another 24 months. If you cancel service prior to the end of any 24 month term, they charge you a $75 cancellation fee, in addition to a fee to pickup your receptacles. They also require you to pay your service 3 months in advance and will not prorate any back if you cancel service within that 3 months.

We have always paid our invoice on time. Recently, we requested a special pickup of items that they refuse to pick up with regular service. Although, our quarterly bill had been paid on time, our separate invoice for our special pickup request was a little late. Due to the fact that our special pickup amount was the same amount as our quarterly rate and the invoices looked identical, other than in small print one detail said curb side service and the other said special pickup. I should have paid closer attention, but I assumed my online payment for regular service had not posted prior to the invoice going out, therefore, I thought it was the same invoice I had already paid and disregarded it.

The following, scheduled pickup day, they picked up our receptacle and suspended our service. When I called, I was told it was due to not paying for our service and they are ready to send it to collections. After giving them my online confirmation that I did, in fact, pay our invoice on time, I was told this was for the special pickup. I paid it immediately, two days prior to our next, scheduled pickup day.

We had to wait one week, until our next, scheduled delivery day to have our trash picked up, they charged me $15 to have it picked up, charged me $25 to redeliver my receptacles and $45 for my next invoice, that I haven't even received the invoice for yet and is not even due for another 3 weeks. And after all of that, they only delivered my trash receptacle, not my recycling receptacle.

Very disappointed with their service all around!

Waste Connection's business practice of making people sign agreements should be illegal. Or they shouldn't be allowed to continue hiking their rates.
We signed an agreement with Waste Connections almost 12 years ago because they were offering cheaper rates.

It's a rolling agreement, so if you don't cancel within a small window then they automatically re-new the agreement. After 12 years we didn't even remember signing the agreement. If they are going to automatically re-new the agreement they should be required to keep the original rates and / or mail a copy of the new agreement to the client prior to it going into effect.

We chose to cancel the service because over time the rates have continued to go up. They are charging us a $*** cancelation fee. The cancellation fee is unfair because after 12 years we have more than satisfied the agreement. It seems shady to me that they never mail out the new agreements.

Desired Outcome

I want our account closed without having to pay the $*** cancellation fee.

Waste Connections of Wichita Response • Mar 07, 2019

This customer signed an agreement with Waste Connections when they started service. This agreement stipulates a $*** fee to cancel the account. When the customer called to advise of the competitor rate she was offered, we actually offered her an even lower rate to help keep her business and avoid the fees. The customer agreed to keep the account open, but later called back to cancel. She was advised of the fees to cancel at that time. They brought the container back to our office to avoid the cart pick up fee. This left the customer with a final balance of $***. While this is a valid charge that was agreed to in writing, we are willing to work with the customer at this time and will adjust the account to a zero balance.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Seems as though I'm having the same problem as everyone else with this absurd $75 cancellation fee. I'd been with Waste Connections for, I'd say, over ten years and in good standing. I recently got married and moved into a new home where trash service was already running with another company. I called to cancel my service with Waste Connections and they told me since I didn't transfer my service, I would have to pay a cancellation fee. When I asked questions, I was told I had signed a contract TEN YEARS AGO in which I agreed to pay a fee upon termination. They have since sent me to collections and I have filed a dispute. All for a measly $75. So much for being a long-time customer.

TOTAL RIPOFF. Our account per (Kyle) had us sign a contract that waived monthly charges for a long term deal, but with the assurance that we could cancel anytime. We did so at one property that was sold, with no problem. But now Kyle is no longer with them and our new account rep (Eric) tells us that Waste Connection will not honor the agreement. We are taking all of our business elsewhere. This business has no integrity.
