Here is what happened . [redacted] was referred to me by another customer she told him that her...

watch was sent to Rolex repair center and she was quoted $1700 for repairing her watch. When she came to our shop I looked at the estimate and told her that I will be able to fix the watch for much less. I told her that I will address only mechanical problems of the watch and will not repair cosmetic problems and other non mechanical problems. To be precise Rolex found 13 problems with the watch mechanical ,cosmetic and watch case related. I am including original Rolex Estimate with this letter.
We only agreed to Perform “ Movement service, Winding problem and Clasp loose problem” and we marked those problems on the original estimate with check marks. Customer agreed to pay $350 for thous 3 problem to be addressed. When we finished the repairs I contacted [redacted] and told her that her watch has been overhauled, winding was fixed and clasp adjusted and currently watch is running 30 seconds slow and that is the current setting of the watch. I told her that in order for me to adjust that setting ( set by factory) I need to purchase a tool that will allow me to adjust that watch. I asked [redacted] to contribute a little to purchase of the tool because this tool is only for her watch and I do not need it outside of this job. I even told her that she can keep the tool for her watch after I use it. She refused and told me: Quoting: “You made a mistake estimating the cost of repair you should pay for it”. I have talked with my partner about this problem and we have decided that even though we are not making any profit on this repair if we spend $150 on the tool its ok we will take a loss and purchase the tool, customer satisfaction is more important. We purchased the tool and tuned [redacted]'s Watch. After 2 month [redacted] Came back with her watch full of water telling me that her watch is not working. When I opened the watch their was water and few spot's of rust. I told [redacted] that she did not screwed in the crown of the watch that creates water tight seal. [redacted] replied that she knows nothing about it this and its my fault that her watch is not keeping water resistance. [redacted] damaged her watch by neglecting to perform steps that insure water resistance. Also In order for the watch to be fully water resistant and be covered by manufacture warranty customer need to send the watch to the manufacture at least every 5 years for gasket replacement and water testing. [redacted] Owned the watch for 30 years and has not done that.
To conclude: [redacted]'s Watch Was Damaged by water do to [redacted]'s Carelessness and Neglect. The Repairs that we performed on the watch have nothing to do with water resistance of the watch. I do have a witness that referred [redacted] to our shop and he will be able to testify to parts of this argument if needed. If you require I will be able to provide you with his contact.
