Watches Etc. International

Review: I have been taking my vintages watches to Watches etc for several years and felt [redacted] the owner was a trusted friend and excellent watch repair person. I took in to have him clean and time a fairly valuable Tissot Sea Star 1973 vintage watch with a rare t2571 movement. It was sold to me as such and I can prove it with ebay records. The Tissot movement was the t2571 when I took in the watch. When I returned to pick up the watch. ( He had taken much longer than usual to repair it) I asked him to open the back so that I could photograph the movement for my on-line Watch forum. To my utter dismay, disbelief, shock, etc, the watch now contained a lesser Tissot movement the t2591. It is a much less rare movement with less jewels etc. Even though I was pretty confused and upset, I confronted him with the facts. We had discussed the nature of the rare movement prior. He said amoung other things that "How was it possible for him to do such a thing" He is a watchmaker, of course he could switch out one movement for another. Especially since they are similar. I was really shocked and even paid him a minimal amount for his disservice because I was confused and upset. To make matters worse the watch was a present from my girl friend. she called him and confronted him as well. He lied straight faced to both of us. he took a 450 dollar watch and turned it int a 175 dollar watch. It was not only the money, It was the trust that was destroyed as well. Thank you.
