We purchased a pace clock from *** at *** It took much longer to arrive than anticipated(5/10/19), but we were happy with the clock until it began to malfunction. I researched every possible pace clock and had multiple conversations with owners of various companies and this pace clock seemed to fit the bill. We live in very mild climate, but we occasionally get rain and some wind in our area. I was most concerned about whether the clock would hold up in the outdoors, so my research was narrowed down to only those clocks that were sealed and coated and protected. On the swimnerd website, there's a video (see attached) that shows *** spraying his pace clock with a water hose. Before we purchased, I specifically asked if the clock could be placed outdoors in the elements and here was ***'s reply:

That being said, we do encourage you to protect your clock anyway possible. Some people make their own enclosures. Some are simply sitting under an awning. And, most people throw some duct tape on the corners and the sides of the clock for some extra protection.
All that said, we haven't had a single clock break due to water damage.
After a few rain showers, our pace clock filled up with water and began to malfunction. Initially, I emailed *** to let him know of the issue. He suggested we send it back to him for repair and he would ship it back to us for free.
After we shipped the clock back, he replied that our clock was not repairable. He replied that he doesn't typically replace clocks that have been outside unprotected, but he would replace the clock for *** add'l dollars(1/2 of the cost). I asked him to replace the clock. He won't return my emails.

Replacement We ask that he replace the clock with another unit or a refund of the full amount if he doesn't wish to replace the clock.
We have resolution to this complaint! We received a new pace clock in the mail today and it looks as though this issue has been resolved. *** was responsive on my 2nd attempt and agreed to ship out a replacement clock. It is now in our possession and we are thankful he was able to resolve the issue with our damaged clock. Thank you!
