Review: I recently rented a snowmobile for the weekend. I returned the machine in the condition I rented it. I returned it with a full tank of fuel. I was contacted on Monday and told there was damage to the bottom of the machine. I was forwarded photos of a dent underneath the machine. There was no way for me to inspect this part of the snowmobile at the time of rental. The position of the dent is in a way that I would have to be driving in reverse. You can't do that on a snowmobile. The company charges a 500 deposit. They have sent me an estimate for the snowmobile at 1149 dollars. I asked them for photos of the machine prior to my rental and they said they don't have any photos. They then threated to charge me for rental lost if I don't pay them what the want. The continually said I have to pay it because I signed the rental agreement. The snowmobile has 3700 trail miles on it. There is no way to know when the damage occurred and no one would be able to see the damage to point it out at time of rentalDesired Settlement: Full refund of my deposit and an apology for their dishonesty.

Mr. [redacted] did rent a snowmobile from us the weekend of February 19th.He signed documents stating the machine was in good condition when he took it out. He also signed documents stating he would be held 100% responsible for any damage done to the sled while in his possession. The Bulk Head that is damaged is something you can see if you bend down and look at the side of the sled. It doesn't have to be turned upside down to view.Mr. [redacted] was never threatened to pay or else he would be charged with loss of revenue. As you can see in the paperwork he signed, we tell customers up front that they will be charged for loss of revenue if the sled is damaged and we can't rent it out. As for the windshield support we are charging him for, when he brought the sled back it only had 2 rivets holding it together instead of 8 that come from the factory.During his 500 mile plus excursion, six of them must have snapped off when he hit something, which is easy to do.Mr. [redacted] put 543 miles on the snowmobile during his weekend rental. In order for the damage to have been done, he had to hit something or go over a rock or log. I believe it is Mr. [redacted] who is being dishonest.Watercraft will be celebrating its 100th year in business next year. That doesn't happen to a business if it is dishonest. We pride ourselves in customer service and the way we take care of our customers. But there is always someone who thinks the rules and all the signed documents shouldn't apply to them. The sled he rented had a safety check performed on 2/14/16. It checked out OK by two different employees. It was never rented until Mr. [redacted] took it on 2/19/16. The total repair for damages to the snowmobile comes to $1,149.61. In order to settle this matter I am willing to keep Mr. [redacted]'s deposit of $500.00 and have Watercraft absorb the balance of repairs which comes to $649.61.Sincerely,[redacted]General ManagerWatercraft Sales, Inc.
