I did not sign documents stating that the deposit was refundable within hoursThere was one form that I signed that was only the breakdown of what rent would be, the application fee, admin fee, and the REFUNDABLE depositTheir statement says that the deposit is held for while the application is being processed and refundable within that hours; however, I had to call the apartments on the third day to find out if I was even accepted, so how do I have hours to decide if it took hours for me to find out if I was even approved? Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/05/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I did not sign 2 documents stating that the deposit was refundable within 72 hours. There was one form that I signed that was only the breakdown of what rent would be, the application fee, admin fee, and the REFUNDABLE deposit. Their statement says that the deposit is held for 72 while the application is being processed and refundable within that 72 hours; however, I had to call the apartments on the third day to find out if I was even accepted, so how do I have 72 hours to decide if it took 72 hours for me to find out if I was even approved? When I called the first time I spoke with [redacted] I think her name was I'm not sure, and she said I was approved with double the deposit, which was almost $3000. I told her I was going to need to discuss it with my boyfriend because that was a high move-in amount; she then said thats fine, we look forward to speaking with you. That was the end of that conversation. She never told me that I had until the end of that day to decide and for my deposit to be refundable. The assistant manager, [redacted], never stated it either when I filled out the application with her and neither did [redacted] when I told her we were going to need some time to think about it. If I had known that there was only a 72 hour window I would have made my decision in a timely manner; if I had ever been given this information I wouldn't have an argument, but that isn't the case. I was not once ever told that 72 hours was the amount of time I had to get my deposit back. The company says they are following the housing guidelines, but they're not. They are enforcing them without disclosing the information to future residents.
All that I want to come from this is to have my $300 back. I was told by their assistant manager that it was refundable, so I need them to keep their word and give me my money back. It isn't my fault that their employees didn't disclose information that needed to be disclosed.

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2015/06/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was not notified that there was only 72 hours for me to decide and my money be refundable. IF someone had told me I would have made my decision faster. There was still over a month before I was even going to move in. My entire issue is that no one told me my money was refundable only within that 72 hour period. I wouldn't have a complaint if I knew there was only 72 hours. It is not my fault your assistant manager,[redacted], didn't inform me of this policy. She should be responsible for that, not me. I am entitled to my money back.
