[redacted] received a slightly higher bill in December because her toilet had started running late in our reading cycle The slightly higher bill, which she probably received after about days from when we read the meter, alerted her to contact maintenance regarding her running toilet It is my understanding that the toilet was taken care of right away Her usage appears to have gone back to normalHer toilet must have been racing for the 15-days in order to accumulate a >$billIt is up to the residents to notify management when things are wrong in their unit Our job is to read her meter and let her (and management) know what she owes for her water/sewer chargesThe fact she ignored the running toilet can only lead us to charge the amount used The reason landlords charge back the water is to make their tenants more accountable for their usageNobody else knew the toilet was running except *** It is unfortunate that it costs so much, but it could have been avoided with a simple phone call when the problem started. We are happy to work out a payment plan to pay for the big bill, but we can not just waive the charges for her negligence

With regards to the two invoices showing on [redacted] account for the same amount. We did run two bills back in April, due to another error, we only submitted one list of charges to the apartment complex.  She was not charge the $66.38 twice, it was basically a duplicate billing.  The...

two higher than normal bills were investigated after the first bill was received and the worker at the complex noted that there was a flapper issue with the toilet that probably created the high bill.  The flapper was corrected, but it was already halfway into the next month's billing which then created another higher than normal bill, but less than the previous one. Thanks

It is my understanding that the toilet was taken care of right away.  Her usage appears to have gone back to normal. Her toilet must have been racing for the 15-20 days in order to accumulate a >$400 bill. It is up to the residents to notify management when things are wrong in their unit.  Our job is to read her meter and let her (and management) know what she owes for her water/sewer charges. The fact she ignored the running toilet can only lead us to charge the amount used.  The reason landlords charge back the water is to make their tenants more accountable for their usage. Nobody else knew the toilet was running except [redacted].  It is unfortunate that it costs so much, but it could have been avoided with a simple phone call when the problem started. We are happy to work out a payment plan to pay for the big bill, but we can not just waive the charges for her negligence.
