I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. *** did not have severe matting and was in no way neglected. The groomer at my vet trimmed his face on three occasions and did not express any need for any additional grooming. I combed and brushed *** almost daily. The matting areas that *** did have did not require being shaved to his bare skin and he never should have been burned the way he was as evidence by the pictures. The fact that my puppy needed to be treated at the vet the day after the grooming and receive a steroid shot and burn cream for the areas where he was burned is evidence enough that this groomer should refund me the vet bill and payment for the groom. A puppy that was groomed should not have to be treated by a vet the next day as a result of their visit

I would like top respond to [redacted].........people sometimes use the word clipper burn loosely when not fully understanding the termRazor burn and clipper burn would be very similar...think of when you shave your legs or face to close......causing red bumps? and raw areas of skin.This how ever
is not the case[redacted] is a standard poodle mix and has not had the proper care that one would? hope for I'm going to hope this is because there was a lack of education and or knowledge.He was over a year old and never been groomedAnyone with any kind of? knowledge? of this type of dog would already know there is a problem with that..Her dog came in and was is bad shapeHe was severely? matted to the point of being ? pelted.....any skin under such matts would be irritatedA matted area may itch after being shaved since the hair has been pulled tight for quite some time and then is released by removing? the hair? We would also like to state that a dog that has not ever been groomed would not be the most understanding to what is going on......and having matts to remove doesnt? helpShe also failed to tell me that the dog hates the dryer....He had no concept of the grooming process and should have been brought in at an early age to help him understand and be comfortable with groomingThis would have been for his best interestThat being said...I went to great measure in working with him, and giving? him break throughout? the day....that is why it took so longI also knew that I may run into issues with his skin ? under the mats? so I did a wet shave which will protect the integrity of the skin keeping it cool while shavingThis whole process took a great amount of timeShe was charged a regular grooming of a large dog , which is (not the that she? has claimed) I did not charge? her for the dematting because I was hoping ? to educate? her of the care needed for her dog and that she would return regular for his needed careI also gave her combing and bushing demonstration to help her take better care of her dogI also offered to have her husband come back for further combing? instruction.? The picture posted has long hair and needed to be wet to see the skin irritation....this proves to me it is not a case of clipper burn....the vet has confirmed? my conclusionI only have the regret? that this owner has failed to learn what is needed to properly care for her dog and will repeat the action that has got her here in the first place.....she needs to take responsibility for the proper care and grooming of her dog
