Watters Plumbing, Inc. Reviews (2)

Review: In June of 2012, Watters plumbing had come to our home to install a water heater. It was installed per instruction from an agency we were working with.

In february of 2014, we had contacted watters plumbing due to the fact our water heater kept failing. We had to keep turning it off and resetting it so it would work again.

Watters plumbing had come out to our house and told us that we needed either a blower assembly or limit switch. After contacting Watters directly and telling them about how I was disattisfied with the amount they charged us just to come out to the house and not actually fix anything at that time, they said they would come and replace the blower assembly without charging us the labor. The part was covered under manufacturer warranty. They came out and replaced it. We had problems immediatly and called them back as soon as we could. The whole house would shake when the motor would kick on. They told us they'd have a new part within a couple days and call us when it was in. We waited over 2 weeks and heard nothing, so we called them back. It was about 3 weeks before they installed the new one. Which didn't help as the water heater still kept failing. They replaced it again, and still we were having problems. So we called them back, they came out yet again, The contractor who came out told me to clean my stairs off that they were going to replace the entire water heater, and I told him that was not discussed on the phone, and I expected them to come out and do what they told me on the phone, which involved calling the water heater manufacturer and going through steps to make sure they were doing things in the right way. At this time, they didn't tell us there would be a labor charge for installing the water heater. they did not replace the water heater that day. They said they changed the angle to the vent for the exhaust. We did not get any paperwork for the visits except for the very first one when we had to pay for 'labor' and service fee. Our water heater failed again. We contacted the company and they said at that time they'd have to replace the water heater, we set up a date to do that. Then they called a couple days later to tell us it was going to be $2** some dollars to change it. At this time I cancelled the appointment. I asked if we could have another contractor install the water heater under the warranty as I'd feel comfortable with someone else doing it as these people have not done anything to fix anything in the past 5 visits. They said if I can find one that will do it then yes I can. So I looked up the contractors that would install those types of water heaters and contacted a different company. They came out to my house to assess the situation to see what was going on with it. He told us that the exhaust was not installed correctly to the manufacturers specs. There were too many angles for the amount of pipes, and it was not blowing out the exhaust properly and that was why it was not working correctly.Desired Settlement: We are asking for a refund for the amount of money we have invested into fixing this problem. We would not have had to have anyone come out to our house to fix anything or assess anything had it been done in the proper way to start with.

I am aware that the Watters plumbing says we have to give them first opportunity to fix the issues with our water heater, and we did that. They were here 5 times before we found someone else to come look at it.

Our total amount for Watters plumbing was $161.70

And the total amount to fix it per other comp $ 183.00

Which brings it to a grand total of :

$$344.70 We are out because of an improper installation.

Response:

The business did come to my home and said they would respond within 1 week of what they'd like to do. Well their week had endedon Friday, and I have not heard from them since then.

Said service trip to my house would be free. Guy asked how I like to pay when he was ready to leave. I told him lady at office said it was free. He disagreed. Now I am being charged for the call. He did not repair anything at all and offer to replace shut off faucet which he claim was leaking, I refused. To this day it is NOT leaking. What a scam, say trip will be free and then offer to fix something and charge for the trip.
