Review: WCTC held the following contest:

"Join in the week long Leprechaun Hunt!

Hunt starts Monday, March 10th until Friday, March 14th

Stop at the Student Life Desk, C-121, for your map to begin the search. Search the designated buildings to find the St. Patty’s inspired items and take a selfie will all 10 items. Email all your selfies to Student Government Association and we will put them on the WCTC – SGA Facebook page for voting! Whoever gets the most likes by Thursday, March 20th will win a 30-second shopping spree in the Bookstore. Each participant will receive a $5.00 voucher after submitting your selfies."

I completed the scavenger hunt, and kept track of the contest all through the week. On the end date on March 20, every time I checked online, I had the most votes (I have several screen caps throughout the day as proof.) Howeverm a SGA representative claims that when they checked that another person was in the lead and declared her the winner. The contest failed to have official rules documenting an official end time, only a date, so it is unfair to chose a random time to pick a winner when supposedly it fluctuated back and forth throughout the day. (Although my screen caps document the majority of the hours in the day.)

I failed to come to a resolution after contacting the Student Life coordinator [redacted], the Director of Student Development. My next step was contacting [redacted], who is the Vice President of Student Services, however I never received a response to my email.Desired Settlement: Would like the originally offered prize of the shopping spree at our schools bookstore. If the rules did not clarify a specific time to chose a winner, anyone who was winning in the end date should be awarded the prize.

Review: I enrolled for a Fall of 2013 class. I missed 1 day on the second day of class, the instructor dropped me from the class without even contacting me to find out why I had missed. I think it is unethical to

-drop a student without notice

I have to pay out of pocket for my education and I do not find it a fair practice to drop students without notice. I currently hold a 3.66 GPA at CSU this is to say that I am serious about my education. Had the instructor contacted me she would have been informed that my mother is currently fighting cancer and I am her primary care giver and that it was just a bad day for her/us. I have maintained my grades while at CSU and have also taken a class at MATC in Spring of 2013 all the while caring for my mother and I have remained dedicated to my studies. Because of this practice of drooping students after 1 missed class I will not complete the BSN completion program with my class in 03/2014. WCTC has billed me in full for the class which I am happy to pay if I am allowed to retake the class at a later time without charge. There is no reason to assume after 1 class period that I would not have been successful in this class. If WCTC would like a copy of my current transcript I am happy to provide a unofficial transcript and can also provide instructors for reference.Desired Settlement: I pay for the class and get to retake the class at no additional charges or WCTC drop the charges for the class
