Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In response to Mr [redacted]'s response, I do not accept his response to my complaint and this is why. We indeed spoke over the phone multiple times where the year/make and model of the car was not only accepted and understood, it was written on Mr [redacted]'s log book. Feel free to take an image and share that image. All information was taken before I showed in person the day of the tint. This is a brand new car so I am extremely picky about who works on my vehicles. Since Mr [redacted] has brought up South Coast Subaru as a referral I am willing to go under oath in a court of Law documenting everything I have posted in this complaint as truth. South Coast Subaru, I am sure, will also attest to my extremely meticulous nature from my days in the show car world. I never rush into anything without research and referrals. What Mr [redacted] failed to mention was not only South Coast Subaru disappointed in this situation, they apologized for the bad referral and informed Mr [redacted] that Waves Autosound their services would no longer be needed. Given the shady and deceptive business approach from Mr [redacted] I felt it was not in my best interests to continue business dealings with Mr [redacted].As for the tint percentage, this couldn't have been further from the truth. Not only did I ask for the lightest tint possible and pointed at the example with my own fingers, I was told by Mr [redacted] that was not an issue and along we went in the process of starting the tint process. There was absolutely no miscommunication on my end, I was confident with my decision. If there was anyone that was in a rush, it was you, Mr [redacted]. The only thing that I agree with you is there was not a written quote as it would justify my claim. I believe you intentionally omitted the written quote so that there is no evidence of your deception. In terms of pricing, yes, $180 was the agreed upon price however given that MR [redacted] was given the year make and model of the vehicle there should not have been an extra charge for the rear 3rd window. Mr [redacted] had the information in his hands and also inspected the vehicle when I arrived so there should not be any confusion let alone charging extra for the rear 3rd window. The panoramic sunroof is larger than standard so the upcharge is acceptable and not even part of my complaint.Regarding the cut on the window, once again not only will I go into a court of law to document my statement, I will also have the business that re-tinted my car attest to the cut on the window.  If Mr [redacted] wishes, we can have that business submit a court approved statement. Not only will that business support my claims, they will also disprove Mr [redacted] claims of not using metal blades as he has intimate knowledge of Mr [redacted]'s outsourced tinter and methods. I still have evidence on my vehicle that any reputable tint shop can identify as a sub par service. Mr [redacted] forgot to indicate that when I asked him of the cut on the window that he said it was an air bubble and tried to smooth it out with his wells fargo debit card to no avail. Bubbles, Mr [redacted], are in circular shapes/patterns not a straight line. At this point I realize there is little to no chance of getting a refund or my window fixed. However, I will do every thing legally in my power to warn the public of your actions Mr [redacted]. Just because you have been in business as long as you have does not mean you are perfect. I am not the only negative review you have received. http://www.yelp.com/biz/wave-auto-sound-costa-mesa?hrid=GCnjgyxeHOeI-...  I have also attached an image of the tint. The tint on the right was Mr [redacted] and the tint on the left was from the place that retinted my vehicle. This clearly indicates that major difference from what I asked for and what I received.
Regards,
[redacted]

Hi! Ms. [redacted]. First of, I apologize for delay in answering, but I have been shorthanded, including my front office clerk.I want to tell you that as a small business owner, customers satisfaction is crucial to my business. This is the first complain withe Revdex.com since I opened for business in 1996....

Anyhow, Mr. [redacted] was one of many referrals from south Coast Subaru. When Mr. [redacted] and I first spoke over the phone, I did asked for the year, make and model of his vehicle, as it is a standard practice when making an appointment. We did talked about the price and agreed on $180.00 and sunroof for free. Mr. [redacted] came to the shop and at that time was when he mentioned that he wanted the front windshield also tinted. Here is when I think part of the miscommunication started, cause I showed him the shades of tint samples on my front door, I explained that the 50% tint used to be for front windshields (which is almost clear), and the 35% is the next shade. Mr. [redacted] told me at that time that 35% was ok cause the 50% was too clear. No paperwork was started at that time, it never is, unless customer wants an estimate in writing. Mr. [redacted] left the shop. As the tinter pulled the car into the garage, he brought to my attention the panoramic sunroof which is two extra windows and much larger than standard sunroofs, he also mention the extra triangular windows--making a total of 11 windows. At that time I called Mr. [redacted] to tell him the extra cost, as I was trying to explain to him about the extra cost, he seemed in a hurry and said that "we will talk about it when I get there". We tinted the car as agreed and sent his car for carwash ($20.00 value). When Mr. [redacted] came we informed him that tinting the front windshield is now illegal and fined to retailers who do it, thus we do not tint  front windshields. Regarding the "cut"  on the window that is not possible, cause our tinters used "cut proof" blades which we buy and provide for all the cars we tint--we have receipts if you need to have them. Mr. [redacted] did mention that the color looked darker than his wife's car, but we never decided on the tint based on that, rather to the sample on the window, which was the 35%. Bubbles are visible many times for days after a tint is done, then they go away. On the spot when he seemed not to like the color, I offered to change it or just take off the tint-at no charge to him. He declined. I also encourage my customers to come back if for some reason within a reasonable amount of time the tint does not turn out as expected. I'm sorry, he did not come to us first. At this point there will be no refund issued.Regards,[redacted]

Review: I just received my 2 week old new lease vehicle & I wanted to get my windows tinted. On the recommendation of a good friend (his dealership sends cars to Waves for tint) I decided to give [redacted] at Waves a chance. I was 1 of 5 potential cars looking to get our cars tinted and after a few calls with [redacted], I felt comfortable to make an appointment. During the call, I was asked the year/mode/ make of the car (Keep this tidbit for later, it's important) which I correctly responded. I confirm on the agreed price of $180 for the tint job which included front/rear/rear winshield and [redacted] would throw in the sunroof for free. [redacted] agreed and the appointment was set.Day of the appointment I came in and met [redacted] inside the shop. He asks me which shade of tint I would like and I proceeded to walk to the front of the glass door where the tint samples are. I pick the lightest shade which is called 50%. [redacted] says 'no problem, lets get the paperwork started and we'll get your car tinted". I fill out the paperwork & drop off the keys. Here is where the deal goes south like the Titanic. I finally get the call that my car is ready and when I get there I immediately noticed that the tint was darker than the color that I asked for. I parked my wife's car next to mine (hers has all the windows tinted as well). I asked [redacted] why the tint looks darker than what I requested and replied with "the tint is still wet, it will lighten when it dries". I should have saw that as a red flag but I foolishly gave [redacted] the benefit of the doubt. As I was asking [redacted] about the tint shade my wife noticed something in the rear passenger window. She thought it may have been a hair or some debris that got stuck in between the tint film. I ask [redacted] & he replied " its a bubble, it will go away when the tint cures". He even pulled out his debit card attempting to show me how the "bubble" will go away. Nope, still there and the last I checked, a bubble should be round not a line. After showing [redacted] the "bubble" we go back into the shop where I was hit by the bill. Now we agreed multiple times on different occasions that the price would be $180 for all windows with sunroof included. My bill was $261.xx. Why the huge discrepancy? First [redacted] tells me that I am being charged $35 for the rear passenger triangle window & another $35 for the panoramic sunroof. Granted I have a panoramic sunroof, so paying for the other part of the sunroof was justified. What makes me upset is at no time during multiple conversations did [redacted] mention the $35 charge for the triangle shaped windows nor did [redacted] mention an additional charge for the panoramic sunroof. Throw in tax we're at $261.xxAfter I handed [redacted] the cash he proceeds to tell me how good the tint I got was. [redacted] pulled out a tint sample showing the installed tint. I looked & thought it was a bit dark so I took it to the glass door with the samples. Guess what? The tint sample was no where near the shade I asked for. In fact, it was closer to the medium/dark. I question [redacted] his answer was, " oh the shade you wanted was out so we used the darker one". [redacted]? So I ask for the lightest shade of tint & you give me a darker shade that I did not request? What happened to tint being "wet"? No phone call even though [redacted] had my number. Maybe it has to do with the fact that Waves Autosound does not do tint, they farm it out to another shop. All of this info I found out AFTER I paid [redacted] for the job.At this point I am furious because I know I've been had. After living with the tint over the weekend I decided I can't handle it anymore & I went to another shop. Well after removing the shoddy tint job from Waves Autosound, I was told that "bubble" was a deep scratch in the glass from the metal blades. So now I've been overcharged on wrong tint with a scratched window.Desired Settlement: Refund for bad tint job resulting in damaged window on a brand new 2 week old car. Refund for damaged window.
