Middle of March 2019 I was heading to home depot and my truck suddenly stopped and coasted to side of rd. I am 80 yrs old and had just got over my last cancer treatment and my anxiety kicked in. Had Triple A and wrecker came. He asked where to take it. Didn't know anyone so he took to the Dodge dealer. Called them and they told me I needed a new injector pump, fuel rail and fuel pump. Said they could do it next Friday. (Diesel) Cost would be $7,936.00 I m thinking 790 and said ok. I calmed down and called them back said no may trade it before doing that. Had them have a ford salesman call. They are part of the Auto Motor Plex. (Chev, Ford and Dodge) He called me 3 days in a row talking *** That stalled service and they went ahead and done the work. After I told them not to. They took my truck (12K value) and locked in their storage area. several $100 worth personal stuff in my truck. This is the dealer in Waxahauchie, Tex. I consulted a Lawyer for advice
In our conversation she asked me to consult with a diesel shop on estimate. I consulted a diesel shop and the owner ask me to send him vin# so he could check on parts. Here is a quote from his e-mail
Best cost to replace fuel injection pump, fuel filter, 3100.00
There should not be a common rail on this engine by the vin . Note they were charging me a $1,000.00 for fuel rail. That Dodge dealer has my Truck worth 12K plus personal stuff in truck. Them people running that's service shop were extremely rude. Acted like Mafia instead of professional business. My diesel truck they threatened to sale.
Other (requires explanation) Want my truck at a reasonable cost. $7,936.00 for a 2 hr job and charging $1,000.for part not even on my truck.
In February of 2019 *** brought in his Dodge Ram for a non start/run problem. The vehicle was diagnosed and the repair was approved by ***. When *** came to pay his credit card was declined. He called the credit card company to increase his credit limit. We never received payment for the repair. Approximately 5 months later we filed a mechanics lein with the state. The state issued the lein and the vehicle was sold.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I called and cancelled BEFORE work was ever started. The bill as mentioned in first correspondence. My truck was worth more than what they wanted for repair. I also had couple hundred dollars of personal stuff in vehicle. This incident is a disgrace. I do not have the resources to fight this, I'm 80 years old on SS
I am sorry for your situation. The work was approved before it was started as is our policy. The Fuel injection pump was $3120 for the part. the truck also needed 6 fuel tubes and a fuel pump module. We waited an extended period of time for payment for the repair. When payment was not received paper work was filed with the state of Texas for a mechanics lein. The lein was granted and the vehicle was sold. It is no longer in our posession.

I stopped the work order per phone. Have proof of stall to keep truck and do the work, Also No approval for lines. I was suggested it needs fuel rail ???? Checked into matter and my truck does not have one according to the vin # They did not have a fuel pump authorization as the previously put one on. Have that record also My personal articles were not given back to me. Over $200.00 worth. There response is not the truth. This complaint should be looked into. The state did not hear my complaint but the authorized them to sell my truck???? Very bad con job.
