Renting from WayFinderPM is okay, until your lease is over and you have to try to get your security deposit backIt takes them months to return the security deposit, if they do it at allI had to threaten to sue them many times before they returned any of the security depositI had an authorized subletter in the apartment at the time, and he unfortunately left a few pieces of furniture in the apartmentIf I was there at move-out, I would have put that furniture on the curb and it would have taken me all of about minThey charged a ridiculous $to remove that furniture, effectively taking most of the security depositAlso, once you're out of your lease, it's harder to contact the management than it is to contact a collections agency Most of the people giving good reviews are still in their leases, so they don't realize what's comingUnless you plan to stay in a WayFinderPM apartment for a very long period of time, I would strongly advise against signing one of their leasesEven if you do plan to stay for a long time, I wouldn't want to rent from people like this UPDATE 9-**-17: WayFinderPM has now threatened to sue me for posting a completely honest negative review on ***, and they are attempting to threaten me into removing the reviewThey have sent me an email with the following: "It has come to our attention that you posted slanderous comments publicly via ***We are happy to direct any landlords to view your publicly posted comments in the event information is requested of us regarding your tenancy at S2nd StreetWe are also happy to inform any landlords requesting such information that you paid rent in a timely manner and maintained good standing with the landlord in the event you remove your publicly posted commentsAdditionally, we are happy to drop all consideration of suit against you for slander in the event you remove the above referenced comments." I wouldn't be surprised if this is what they do every time someone posts a negative review, so you're probably not seeing a bunch of negative reviews that have since been deleted

Review: We hired WayfinderPM to manage our building of 5 units in New York City in early 2013. Their mismanagement of the building left us with several problems that ultimately led to their firing less than one year from being hired. They did not appropriately maintain our boilers which should have been maintained every quarter and are now causing heating issues. Our building began to have a rodent problem over the summer due to lack of pest control. They didn't pay bills on time causing service interruptions. Newly contracted services (alarm and fire detection) were not installed. Upon firing, we kindly asked that, during their last month, they work with the new company to send financials and other information as part of the transition. I warned that only upon completion of their work contractually should they pay themselves the monthly management fee and any other use of funds would be considered misappropriation. They paid themselves and stopped responding to us. We know have several issues that are taking up our time and have a high cost.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of our December maintenance payment to them, as they have not completed their contractual obligation. Besides not completing their final month's worth of work, they left us with several huge problems in our building. Therefore I am asking for $2,500 back to the building ($1,035 for December management services and ~$1,500 for cost of our time, replacement of broken items, and other expenses)
