Wayne Auto Salvage Inc Reviews (1)

I purchased a transmission from this company and paid labor as well and the transmissions were burned out. I paid for another and now seeking refund.Wayne Auto Salvage sold me a burned out transmission and I paid the mechanic and when they sent out another one, they made an agreement to pay a mechanic and didn't even pay him. I had to pay for another transmission from another vendor and labor. I contacted Wayne Auto Salvage for a refund, I have a warranty for parts and labor and they said the mechanic voided the warranty and offered me to buy another transmission from them. The company was very deceptive, in which they sold a bad transmission and collected and didn't even pay the mechanic whom they were in agreement with to do the work.Desired SettlementI'm requesting my money in the amount of 958.50 for transmission and labor in the amount of 650.00 in which I am due. I've paid for two transmissions and two labor cost.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] GMContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX ext. 213Contact Email: [redacted]@wayneautosalvage.comTo Whom It May Concern:My name is [redacted] and I am the General Manager for Wayne Auto Salvage Inc. I would like to start by saying we have been in business for over 45 years and our customer focused business practices, as well as, our honest reputation have kept us in business for these years. We strive to purchase only insurance grade wrecked vehicles insuring we always stock the most reliable/reputable used auto parts in Easter North Carolina. We are an ARA CAR Certified "Gold Seal" recycler in the state of North Carolina. On X-XX-XX Wayne Auto Salvage delivered the transmission. After installing this transmission the vehicle was still not performing correctly so we decided to have the vehicle looked at by a neutral third party, [redacted] Transmission of Rocky Mount. [redacted] Transmissions determined the best resolution to solving the performance issue on this transmission would be to supply a replacement. Wayne Auto Salvage did just that. We went with the diagnosis of a neutral third party and sent a replacement on 3-16-16. On 4-4-16 we were notified that the second transmission we sent him was having an issue. As company policy states we had another neutral third party check out the transmission. This time we took the vehicle to [redacted] Transmission of Rocky Mount. According to [redacted] Transmissions of Rocky Mount "trans wiring harness hanging loose on front driveshaft, 02 sensor harness hanging loose, ECM, TCM not mounted properly, 5 quarts low on fluid". Due to negligence and installation errors the warranty on this transmission was voided. According to our warranty "transmission must have all new seals, gaskets, filter, and fluids installed at time of installation. Use of fluid that does not meet manufacturer standards will void warranty." Being 5 quarts low on fluid did not meet manufacturer's standards and thus caused the transmission to become defective. Our customer and his mechanic caused the transmission to become defective by driving the vehicle without proper fluid levels. On 5-9-16 Wayne Auto Salvage was notified that our customer had placed a chargeback on the credit card used for this transaction in the full amount of $958.50. We did send in similar documentation to the chargeback department and on 5-26-16 we received notification from the chargeback department that it had been reversed in our favor due to the evidence we provided. In conclusion, Wayne Auto Salvage sold our customer a transmission with a 1 year part and labor warranty on 2-12-16 for $958.50. We had the transmission checked out by a national transmission specialist chain, AAMCO, and they determined the transmission to be 5 quarts low on fluid. Our customer and his mechanic voided his 1 year part and labor warranty when he installed it improperly causing mechanical failure. When we notified our customer that he voided the warranty by installing it incorrectly he submitted a chargeback on his credit card. We then requested a complete reversal of the chargeback because our customer voided his warranty by allowing the transmission to be 5 quarts low on fluid. On 5-20-16 we were awarded the full chargeback reversal in the amount of $958.60 from the credit card company. If I can be any further assistance in this matter please feel free to contact me. We strive to please every customer. Unfortunately, he needs to direct his concerns toward the one who installed this transmission incorrectly. Sincerely,[redacted] MBAGeneral Manager, Wayne Auto Salvage Inc.XXX-XXX-XXXX Ext. 213[redacted]@wayneautosalvage.com Consumer Response I would like to respond to [redacted] response by saying he's very deceitful. I advise anyone who's thinking about purchasing anything from Wayne Auto Salvage to go elsewhere. Mr. [redacted] has no management skills nor business ethics. I purchased a transmission from Wayne Auto Salvage and it was defective, another transmission was sent out and determined defective. The mechanic said they shipped out a transmission that was full of burnt oil.I notified the rep with Wayne Auto Salvage who was helpful, yet he had to get authorization from his manager in order to correct the problem. He contacts [redacted] who tries to get a third party that I paid to check the car to find something in the warranty to void the warranty. I notified him that you chose the company to do the work because they were cheaper than other mechanics. I'm not liable at all, your company sold me a defective transmission and I had to purchase another one and pay another repair. Mr. [redacted] states that he will lose out money and I should sue the mechanic. I'm taking Wayne Auto Salvage, cc: [redacted] to small claims court to get all of the expenses I occurred back. I will let you know the outcome. I can provide you the contact information of the shop who did the work and they can tell you how they didn't even pay them whom they recruited to do the work. I wouldn't advise anyone to do business with such a corrupt business ethics.
