Business responded to complaint See attached.Business response copied and pasted below by Revdex.com staff 10/30/15.October 30, 2015 Dear Miss *** We are writing to you in response to complaint I.D#*** by *** ***. During this tile installation, it was agreed by Mrs
*** to overlap vertical tile to fireplace doorsShe indicated this to two of our tile setters saying she did not use this side of the fireplace. In the interim (years later) she required fir box repair that required the door to be openedHow can we be responsible for this? After receiving your letter, MrGerome called Mrs*** immediately to discuss the situationShe immediately hung up on him. We would be happy to send the same tile setter back to see what can be done. Please advise. Thank you, Anthony DeGerolamoGerome's Kitchens & Baths
Consumer sent the following response:RE: The entire right (only) side of my bathroom gas fireplace was tiled shut, thus making removal of the door impossible. The fireplace will start after a few tries if the gas builds up in the burner enough.Paragraph I:I DID NOT inform any tile setter that I did not use that side of my fireplace. This house was built 13 years ago and has been used for heating since the construction.Paragraph II:Gerome's IS responsible for opening this door as they tiled it shut (all the way down the right side). It is totally untrue that I contracted Tony after 4 years. I telephoned him last October, 2014 when the burner was having problems lighting and informed him of the problem (I wanted to have the fireplace serviced) . Tony (Quote said to me, " There is nothing I can do".) Gas fireplaces do not need servicing every year - I did not realize that the door was inoperative .Yes, he did call me but I felt that I did not have to be subjected to his verbal abuse and argumentative conversation.Thank you,[redacted]
Business response taken over the phone by Revdex.com staff 11/11/15. The tile man went back to the job on Monday 11/9/15. He pulled out the tile in question, cut it on his saw, re-installed and grouted and now her fireplace door opens. It is all done and resolved.
