I have a truck motor that Kelly' machine shop rebuilt that has been burning quart of oil per milesI was concerned about it within minutes of breakinI had been very diligent in having prepared for the first start up with proper oil and additive, a heat sensor gun, tack, vacuum and oil pressure gauges etcAt miles I took the truck to his requested exhaust analysis shop(3A Automotive) to make sure the carb was okThey said that the excessive oil smoke was due to a problem internally in the motorI called Shawn and told him thisHe came right over and checked it out and said the motor was fine and that the rings just need to seat and run it hardI then did a lot of research and made sure I was following breproceduresAt miles no changeSo with more research I decided to check the *** intake manifold gaskets (I was who installed it)Pulled the manifold off could not see any obvious problemsCalled *** to double check installation procedure and made sure taking my time that all went back on securelySame problem quart per milesKept trying to be patient with maybe rings need more timeAt 1,miles no improvementSo I am thinking major issue and pulled manifold again to measure the squeeze down and top and bottom of each intake port with a lead gauging materialTotally even pressure on all intake ports Again checked with *** and carfully install intake back onDid a vacuum test on block and all checked out no intake leakSo called Shawn K*** and said we better check the valve stem sealsFirst he said bring it in next week and leave it with me for a few days and he would take it to a mechanic to check it outThis being my only vehicle and having now realized the problem is more likely on his endWe agreed to have his mechanic look at it the day I come in a week laterSo I met with Shawn that morning after waiting a half hour at his shop and we drove over to his mechanicBlue Smoke billowing from my tail pipesShawn acted like he wanted it all checked out and replace valve stem seals that dayWell a noon we had cylinders valves clearance checked and ready for new sealsAfter calling Shawn at on where the new seals were he said he was minutes awayminutes later he arrived with the sealsHis mechanic install sets of seals by dark (working outside in a rough muddy storage lotI came back the next day at 1:and mechanic still had one set of seals to install and then rocker arms and valve covers, spark plugsWe started it up and same problemI took it for a mile run to make all was cleared outSame billowing blue smokeThis engine Has Some Major excessive oil consumption problemsDuring all this time Shawn is trying come up excuse's that do not hold waterI had enoughNo more trust in Shawn K*** and his *** That guy is no good and does not respect the fact of my time and money I gave him all for nothingThe motor is junkIt will need to be pulled back out of the truck gone through to find and fix problem and reinstalledMeanwhile I'm out $2,to Shawn K*** plus all the externals on the motor and all the laborWarning!
Ok I went to Kelly's machine shop more than nine months agoWith a disassembled Core engine Wanting to build an engine for my vanMy first car engineI've been saving money for more than a year to do this buildI chose Kelly's machine shop because they have a very good record with the Revdex.comAlso SK*** told me that he does engines for the dealershipsWhich impresses me

I believe first I paid him for the machine workThen I decided to get all the parts from him too so then,I paid for that
I told him it was okay to do other people's work before me (peoples whose Vehicles were broken down here in desperate need of Transportation)My vehicle was still running although oil pressure is acting funny
On more than one occasion I was given the date when the work was supposed to be doneTime and time again I was
I have had nothing but an excellent experience with Kellys Machine Shop located off of 17th ave & Hatcher Rdin Phoenix! Derek was extremely helpful & knowledgeable when I took my car's heads to have them milled thereAnd he managed to have the heads back to me hours laterWas running a bit behind their 5:closing time but when I called the shop to see if it was too late to pick them up was told to come on down, he would wait for me to get there, actually it was one of the owners of Kellys, ShawnAn extremely knowledgable & helpful gentleman and told us to call if we ran into any problems with my car! Having never been to a machine shop a day in my life, I had no clue what to expect; but on both days I was there I was treated as if I was apart of the family & they explained everything about the process making me feel secure in my decision to bring my heads to themI will definantly be back & will let everyone know how great the people & the service areThank you Kellys Machince Shop for an outstanding job!!!
