Electrical issues can be one of the most difficult things to diagnose in today's carsEverything relies on a steady supply of clean electrical currentThe readings we were getting when testing this car were very erratic and indicative of an alternator failureThe alternator uses battery power to amplify electrical currentBecause the vehicle had a bad battery, The battery should have been replaced firstThen, the alternator retested for performance with a good batteryI apologize for the procedural error on the part of my technicianWe never want to sell anything that isn't neededThank you for bringing this to my attentionMy staff has been reprimanded, and reminded of proper procedure when dealing with an electrical issueI will immediately refund the diagnostic feeThank You.Wayne L***, President

He has been taking care of my 2002 Accord and 2007 Odyssey for years. Recently moved down to North Palm but still drive up to Stuart for any auto repairs. Honest and reliable

Now, for the rest of the storyThe customer came in with a printout from a local parts store that stated the alternator was faultyThe customer also asked us to diagnose why the "check engine light" was onThis takes time, expensive equipment and a trained professional technicianHence, the
diagnostic feeThe technician immediately noted the corroded battery terminal on the technician worksheet and checked for power and ground at the alternatorBoth were presentIt wasn't until he tapped on the alternator that it started working againWe have seen this dozens of times beforeThe alternator may work for a few days or weeks more before failing againWe indeed recommended replacement of both the battery terminal and the alternator to prevent the customer from becoming strandedHe Declined all repairs solely on PRICEWe are a Napa Autocare center, and we are a retail auto repair facilityWe do not sell at cost, but, rather at retail pricesNapa"s retail price is $As far as the other complaintsLet me assure everyone that the battery terminal end that was replaced did not fix broken vacuum lines and did not fix the leaking intake manifold gaskets that were causing the engine to run too leanHence, the "check engine light"I believe this vehicle will soon experience the reappearance of both- The Check Engine Light and The Battery Light.Here at Wayne's Auto repair, we strive everyday for customer satisfactionIf you're not happy, let us knowAnd we will work hard to make you happy.If refunding our diagnostic fee, (after) we told you what repairs were needed makes you happy, then so be it

Let me start by asking "who is *** ***?"On November 1st A Acura Integra was towed to our shopThe tow truck driver left us the contact info for *** ***, the person driving the carWe called *** and informed him his car had arrived and that we would need
his O.Kto get it in the shop and diagnose the problemHe said O.K. After a couple of hours we had found the problem(s)About the same time a female who did not give her name called and said you have MY Acura Integra there and wanted to know the situationWe informed her of what we found and what it would take to get the car back on the roadWe gave her the price of $and She said O.K., that's fineLater, we received a call from *** inquiring about completion time and priceHe said O.K. Some time after this when the vehicle was finished and parked outside we get a call from a third party claiming to be ***s father and wanting to know why nobody contacted himWe explained that we had already talked to two people and that diagnosis and repair were authorized and completedSeven days later we called *** and informed him of the storage fees if the car was not picked up soonHe came in Nov9th Paid the bill and left with no complaintWe have been in business a long time and we do not do work without authorizationWe want the customer to be happy and at the end of the day we want to be paid for our time and expertiseMisunderstandings happen and sometimes its no one persons faultBecause of this we are willing to refund Half of the charges *** paid
