Seems like its a running theme. Enrolled in a year long membership at a gym that I was told there would be no obligation to me at the end to cancel. I SPECIFICALLY asked this question in order to avoid this disaster. Magically, a renewal fee was charged to my bank account. Upon arguing with supervisors and managers alike, nothing was done. In fact, the ONLY way to cancel is to force two more months of membership fees on me. You have to send them in writing a request for cancellation, which I think is ridiculous. They will not consider that notice any sooner than 60 days of receiving it. They have really hurt me financially and people should be aware of this third party billing service. These are evil people.

I spoke with an agent several months ago regarding canceling my Charter membership. She advised me at that time I needed to send a cancellation notice by regular mail, certified mail, or I could go in to Charter Fitness. So I mailed a letter by regular mail. They claimed they didn't receive it. I called again and the next agent advised me to do the same thing. This time I drove to Charter on my lunch and they advised me that I couldn't cancel there, I would have to go to the place I signed up. Now I'm just frustrated because I am following what supposed to be in my contract. Instead they want to give you the run around. If the only way they will accept your cancelation is by certified mail, that's what should be said. I called back to complain, the rep couldn't do anything. I happen to work in a place where I mail things all the time. I sent several correspondence the same day and Charter is the only one that claims the letter got lost in the mail. I haven't been to their facility in months due to medical issues, but I continued to pay monthly. Now they want to give me a hard time to cancel and continue to charge me. I was in contact with them several times trying to cancel.

This company holds my contract for a gym I signed up for in my area. Their cancellation policy is fairly standard. If you move 15 miles away from any gym, you need to provide proof of that move (they give you a list of acceptable proof) and then they run your contract for 30 more days. I provided proof (a credit card statement) to this company on June 3rd via email, June 4th I received an email back from a rep saying my proof was not sufficient, despite being on their list, and then the rep said she had attached the list (which she did not). I sent a response back saying I had already been provided a list and that my proof was acceptable per their terms. I received no response to that email. June 13th I sent an email to check up on my previous 2 emails and attached my proof yet again. On June 15th, a different rep contacted me to let me know my cancellation was finally in progress. The catch is, the billing cycle runs every 15th of the month, so this company deliberately waited until June 15th so that they could bill me for an extra month. I find this very unprofessional and will flag the transaction with my credit card company once billed. Watch out for this company as they will do everything they can to get extra money from you.

I personally went to my local [redacted] and turned in my key and requested to cancel my membership. They accepted my key but continued to bill me. When I filed a complaint with my credit card company and blocked them from the ability to continue to bill me - only then did they contact me. They told me that my turning my key in was not good enough! That I had to send a certified letter to them! Still waiting for them to refund me.

ABC Financial has been calling & harassing me for a gym, whom I AM NOT UNDER CONTRACT. I would like them to quit pestering me.It is MY CHOICE WHICH GYM I CHOOES TO GO TO.I have told them several times to quit calling me.Threaten my credit...Really have NO RIGHT.NOT CONTRACTED!!!

Signed up for [redacted] at their Brooklyn, NY location last year accepting their 1 year membership. Signing up there was no paperwork involved it was done on an ipad for no indication on what were the terms for CANCELING. Assuming I can just pay the last month and canceling my membership but NO it is not that easy. Not only did they charge me a SERVICE CHARGE there is also no way possible of canceling in person or over the phone! What kind of business runs like this? I havent been inside their gym in 3 months. Let me cancel.

This institute does not represent it clients well at all. I applied for a membership at [redacted] in Mount Juliet, Tn . It was not clearly explained to me how much session would cost with a personal trainer until I actually got home and reviewed the contract. I immediately called to cancel the contract simply because I could not afford it. I spoke with the manager the following day and we agreed upon finishing out the month with a personal trainer and then converting to a regular gym membership. That did not happen. I went through countless representative with ABC Financial gathering information as to how I could get my contract cancelled immediately. Needless to say, it went back and forth from them to the manager and my calls were going unreturned. I finally went down to the shop after a month had passed and spoke with the manager. He assured me that he would take care of the matter. I get a call a day later from the financial institute and they are telling me what I could do, not what I needed to do. I want this contract cancelled and a person should not have to go through this my distress in doing so. It really makes it hard to recommend shops that deal with these types of financial institutions.

I never had so many issues with dealing with two companies. [redacted] in Nashua and ABC financials. When I signed up for the membership, it was no contract, no hassle based on what the person at fitlab mentioned. I was told that I could call anytime to cancel the membership in which I did in October and [redacted] said they couldn't help and I tried to get a hold of ABC financial. When I got a hold of them they said I need to send a letter (they didn't mention email) to cancel this account. I don't recall signing any agreement stating that I agree to that term. Then I just decided to dispute it with my credit card company which helped a little but the charges keep coming to my account. Now I am in the process of cancelling this account via email and I am dealing with different people each time I email them to make it more difficult. I am tired of this and want to just pay the remaining fees but they are making it more difficult by saying that I need to pay the november and december fees but november fees have been already charged to my account. To go through this much struggle to cancel a gym membership is ridiculous. The gym membership was 19 a month, then they charged me late fees.

So after many attempts to cancel my membership with [redacted] Fitness. Phone calls made, letters sent. I have now been contacted by ABC Financial stating that I have been turned over to collections because have not paid the fees due.

They have stated that I have received many phone calls and letters attempting to collect my money "NOT"

All I can say is beware of this company and any contract that you may sign involving them!!!

I recently received a charge on my bank statement from ABC Financial which made no sense to me. Upon calling I realized that the monthly payments I had been applying with automatic pay was not being paid on my gym membership but on a membership my husband had opened and closed about a year ago. He had jointed my then 16 year old daughter on the premises that he could quit it at anytime knowing that she wouldn't stick with it. He did call and cancel and sent them an email canceling. He also stopped payment on his card. Somehow in the interim they somehow managed to switch my credit card # over on his account. They said that someone had called in and gave the new credit card #. He doesn't have access to my credit card and he wouldn't do that anyway and I never would call to put his membership on my card. I didn't even remembered he had a membership. Also if I had called in wouldn't it have said it was for (his name)? Anyway, after two days of on and off calls trying to get this straightened out and agreeing they would take care of it I called back after not hearing and they were so rude to me. Told me the only way they would reimburse my money for the last 9 months is if I filed a police report that my husband stole my credit card. I have never been talked to so rudely as when I spoke to this last person. She refused to give me her name also. So the deal is they were applying my scheduled payments for my gym membership to my husband's old account that he had cancelled a long time ago. They refuse to reimburse me and I could almost go with the loss of the $ but you know in about 6 months they'll be hounding me saying I never paid my gym membership when I did! I am definitely taking them to small claims court but I just want everyone to be aware to double triple check account numbers and never use their automated system because if there is a gliche it's obviously their opinion that it's not their problem.

Originally signed a contract for [redacted] gym in West Roxbury MA a while back, and per the original contract that I signed I was only required to provide written notification to the GYM that I was using. [redacted] change over to [redacted], I never signed any new contracts, but deductions kept coming from my account. I cancelled back in November, and still ABC financial continued to attempt to make unauthorized deductions from my bank account. They now say I owe them 100 dollars for the contract and an additional 40 in late fees. This is outrageous. I did everything I was contractually obligated to do in order to cancel my account, and still they make unauthorized debits - luckily at the same time I had switched to another debit card, so the deductions were not actually taken, they just continue to bill me for more and more money each month. I will never attend a gym that used this financial company again, and I will be submitting a complain to the AG's office in Massachusetts if this is not rectified immediately.

I have been trying to cancel my gym membership because I have moved out of state for work. My contract contains a clause that states I can cancel my membership if I am able to provide "sufficient evidence of relocation." So far I have sent them my new job acceptance letter, bills addressed to me at my new out of state residence, as well as my new employee ID. The company continues to pretend that this information is not enough despite the fact that all three of these items appear on a list of what they consider "sufficient evidence." I am now considering legal action.

I am writing this review as they are joint partners with my gym in Las Vegas, EOS Fitness, handling their billing and cancellations. My membership with EOS fitness has always been on a recurring auto-draft, so I have never had problems with late payments that I have seen other customers complaining about. My problem is that I must give a 30 day notice to cancel the account, pay a $15 cancellation fee to cancel the account (two accounts, one for my wife and myself, so $30), plus pay the recurring fees of my gym for an additional 30 days (about $25), so $55 just to leave the gym. I am moving to another part of the country and cannot utilize the gym, even if I wanted to, which I find absolutely ludicrous.

Not to mention I had an extremely poor experience with EOS Fitness and their training staff in which I was forced to pay approximately $110 per month for training from incompetent staff, which I ended up not using and could not cancel for an entire year. The staff was revolving constantly, and even if I found a trainer I could work with he either quit or was moved to another facility. This seems to be the fault of EOS and not ABC, but the fact that I've paid so much money to EOS (And ABC, directly), to squeeze me out of another $55 aggravates me to no end.

I realize all of these terms are in contract, and I did in fact agree to them (well, my wife did, since she signed me up), but it has been by far, one of the most horrific experiences I've had to endure in dealing with a business (or partnership of businesses).

Abc financial services is one of the biggest scam billing services ever. They are tied with workout world (gym) and when I tried to cancel my membership it was a complicated process of sending emails and... Waiting. Well guess what that went on for almost 3 months and I was billed for each month since. Huge pain to unsubscribe from their membership, avoid at all costs. Why wouldn't it just be as simple as calling the gym and asking for it to be cancelled? Oh that's right because then they couldn't f[redacted] you by billing you again because you didn't submit it before the next 30 day cycle continues.

The worst experience ever. I tried to cancel the membership 3 months ago. They still charge my account. I have proof and still want cancel my account. The supervisor [redacted] said I need to clear my account to close my account. But when you cancel it three months ago when it was clear and you continue to charge it it will not be clear cause I want pay for it. This business is a scam and needs to lose it business license. They supervisor also said they she did not care if I contact the Revdex.com cause I was wrong. Great customer service.

I have been charged a late fee of $20.00 for one business day late on my gym membership, which is absurd considering most businesses will waive late fees or give you more than one day to set the account straight. If all businesses charged $20.00 late fees after one day of being late, this economy would self-destruct and bankruptcy would skyrocket. They sent me an email on Sunday notifying me of the insufficient funds and then ran my card AGAIN today, before I even had an opportunity to make other arrangements.

I joined a [redacted] gym in Spartanburg, SC while on a work assignment. The assignment was over at the end of August 2015 so I requested that my membership be terminated. I was told I had to put it in writing. So I submitted it in writing at the gym location. I assumed that they would stop charging my card. Today 5/19/2016 I notice a charge for $39 dollars on my card from ABC financial Services for the gym fee. After further investigation I realize that I have be continuously charged for my gym membership for the last 10 months. I call their customer service line and request that they honor my cancellation and remove the charges made for this month. I was told that they have no record of my cancellation and I would have to mail them a new cancellation request and receive additional charges until they can process the letter. First off my membership should have been cancelled in September, and secondly I should not have to resubmit a cancellation request so that they can keep charging me and pretend they never received it especially when I call and verify my identity and explain this whole situation. This is absurd and immoral. I would suggest that anyone thinking about adding a membership should beware of these unethical practices of ciphering money from customer who no longer wish to be a member of their gym. gym membership number XXXX-XXXXX
