Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.A full refund is requested . The vehicle has been provided 4 times to be corrected in 2 1/2 months period and the issue has not been resolved. The last time vehicle was shown on 07/27 it was passed off as "Not an issue with work done by AAMCO, go fix the issue at [redacted] or some place. No need to take it to as Nissan is very expensive for this specific issue and codes that have been shown".  Nissan on 07/28 has mentioned that the transmission issue still exists for the check engine light problem.Regards,[redacted]

Review: I work For [redacted] and we used Aamco once or twice in the past I called them up and told them my transfer case was leaking and my bearings were making a loud noise. [redacted] told me to bring it down he would hook me up since he knows I worked for [redacted]. I took it off the vehicle and brought it down to them they looked at it and said 600 to replace seals no new bearings or chain. I told them I would just pick it up and buy a reman and they kept calling after said they would do it for 300 if I paid cash. I asked does that include new chain and bearings and john I think his name was said I think so so I said do it. I picked it up a few days later and installed it and I drive about 150 miles a day for both my jobs I got to my second job and smelled tranny fluid looked under the transfer case was leaking called ammaco they told me to bring it back so they could look at it so I did I told them I went 150 miles without fluid and the bearings were making a lot more noise now. after I dropped it off they screwed with me for 2 days before they looked at it then finally called me told me that the bearings were fine and they replaced the seal. I picked it up installed it again and surprise bearings were louder than ever. I called ammaco again and they said drop it off they need to have the vehicle to look at it so I dropped it off waited all day they never called me I called them 20 mins before they closed and they said oh yeah you can come pick it up theres nothing wrong. I went to go pick it up when I got there they told me that it wasnt the transfer case making noise and that it was coming from somewhere else. Well I told them that 5 of my ASE certified techs say there full of b/c they all hear it from the transfer case. I called ammaco corp last week and they never got back to me about this issue. In the meantime sat the 2/21 I was driving to work and the transfer case locked up causing the rear drive shaft to be ripped off the rear yoke and making me late for work and having to tow the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I want my 300 dollars back to start. Then after I get a estimate from [redacted] to have a new transfer case shipped to the shop and installed along with a new yoke and driveshaft installed and whatever damage was caused when the driveshaft was ripped off. I want ammaco to pay that bill also along with wasting my time and missing work time. Also since I found out they never replaced the chain or bearings and not all of the seals were even replaced.

Re: ID # [redacted] - [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com Representative,

My name is [redacted]. I am the owner of AAMCO Transmssions in [redacted]

Township. I have spent a lot of time deciphering all of the information provided in

the letter. With all due respect it is hard for me to evaluate the accuracy of your

information due to many factors. This will include, unprofessionalism of your

choice of words to describe events, missing dates, and lack of supporting

documentation.

This is AAMCO’s position. The facts are that AAMCO informed the customer that it

would cost $600 to fix the transfer case. The customer removed the transfer case

from his vehicle and hand carried it to AAMCO. AAMCO informed the customer it

would cost $600 to repair the transfer case. The customer did not want to pay $600

for a complete repair. AAMCO took a concession and offered the customer a lesser

repair for $300 cash - no credit cards or check because AAMCO pays fees on credit

cards and check services (see attached repair order for details and money

rendered).

The customer installed his own transfer case and AAMCO requested him to return to

AAMCO after he finished installing the transfer case. AAMCO cannot warranty the

transfer case without inspecting the installation of the transfer case. The customer

did not return his vehicle for inspection. The customer returned to us after [in his

words] “the transfer case ran out of fluid after 150 miles”. The customer stated his

vehicle “locked up”, which could be caused by many factors including:

1) a bad differential (which is not part of the transfer case)

2) a transfer case seal (which could have been damaged during the installation

of the transfer case which leaked out all the fluid and caused the transfer case

to lock up)

We at AAMCO would be glad to examine and discuss the customer’s vehicle with his

vehicle and him, in-person, at our location. We are open-minded and would

consider all possibilities. Please call us to schedule an appointment

This complaint is complete at this time.

Sincerely,

Owner/Operator

RevDex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to

complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not

resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed

appear below.

The attached letter provided by the so called

owner there is a few invalid statements in his letter let

me state I'm not sorry for unprofessional ism your company lied and

screwed me around. First the owner stated " The customer returned to us

after [in his words] “the transfer case ran out of fluid after 150

miles"". Funny when I took it back they said they put the wrong seal

in the rear output shaft which caused it to leak fluid and had to call the

dealership to get the right one which I can call the dealer and get a copy of

that invoice statement if need to be. Also the owner stated "The

customer stated his vehicle “locked up”, which could be caused by many

factors including: a bad differential (which is not part of the transfer

case)". Sorry sir I had a differential replaced and it only has

36,000 miles on it I have papers to support and it was installed to OEM spec.

As far as the 600 goes for the rebuild AAMCO took a concession and offered

the customer a lesser repair for $300 cash. I told [redacted] I’d just come pick it

up he said “it’s in pieces” I said that's fine you are the ones that

called me back several times said you would do it for less since I wasn't satisfied with

the cost in his words "he would take care of me hook me up". I asked

several times for 300 if the bearings and chain would be replaced and I

was told yes. The owner also stated "The customer installed his own

transfer case and AAMCO requested him to return to AAMCO after he finished

installing the transfer case AAMCO cannot warranty the transfer case

without inspecting the installation of the transfer case". “The

customer did not return his vehicle for inspection”. Let’s take

a moment here and think I had to drive the vehicle to get it

there and the vehicle was 95 miles away from there shop and that's when

I encountered the issue with fluid loss from the wrong seal installed and I

did bring the car to have inspected after the seal was replaced. Let’s

take a look at the invoice attached what does the customers remarks

say t-case needs rebuilt. Now let’s look at what’s below where it says 300 1

recondition t-case now let’s see what recondition stands for 'To restore to good condition, especially by repairing,

renovating, or rebuilding’. As far as I’m concerned with your ending

to your letter “We at AAMCO would be glad to examine and discuss

the customer’s vehicle with his vehicle and him, in-person, at our

location. We are open-minded and would consider all possibilities. Please

call us to schedule an appointment". I've already tried to talk to AAMCO

directly and made the appointment to have them look at it and they said nothing

was wrong. Before and After the service that was performed by AAMCO

bearings still howled and I complained and was just given the typical answer of

its probably something else. I do not trust AAMCO after this matter

nor will I waste more of my time having them look at my car after everything

that has happened.

Regards,

Review: I had transmission issues with my Nissan Pathfinder and took it to AAMCO @ [redacted] for repairs sometime in May 15 2015. They went ahead and charged m3 $3761.84 as a transmission fix on about 05/23/2015. The issue did not seem to go away . For the past 2 1/2 months I have been providing my vehicle to them and after every 50 miles of driving where they have mentioned that the issue has been fixed the same issue has reappeared. On 07/04/2015 they went ahead and put in a fix for $1070/- for the TCM (Transmission Control Module ) module and charged me another $1070/- for it. That fix has also not worked and I had to take it back to them on 07/26/2015 mentioning that the check engine light has been turned on again. They came back with a feedback that it was not their issue and came up with some error codes such as U1000 , C1706 and C1725 with explanations metioned in the attachment. They told me to go and get it fixed at some other shop like Bridgestone etc.

I took it back to the Nissan Dealership in Wexford on 07/28 and the dealership has got back to me mentioning that the transmission still has some issues and that the issue is with the transmission and TCM module that was already paid for.

I have talked to AAMCO yesterday evening 07/28 and they are of the opinion that they want to see the documentation provided by Nissan. There has been a tremendous pain association with the whole issue along with the money that has already been spent and the service not being provided.Desired Settlement: Refund

Response:

Re: 2006 Nissan PathfinderPer our conversation today, let this serve as official notice that we at AAMCO, upon arrival of your vehicle, will inspect it, locate the problem, inform you of the problem, and will provide you with a rental car to use while we are fixing your vehicle. We are confident that we will be able to resolve the problem with your vehicle. At that time, I would ask that you retract your negative reviews on Google and any other social media outlet and release us of all liability. If we fail to resolve your transmission issue per the original repair order, we will provide a full refund. In exchange for the refund, AAMCO would also ask that you retract all negative social media reviews and post the positive resolution or give AAMCO permission in writing to have the review retracted from social media sites. This offer will expire in 5 business days unless otherwise discussed. If the transmission in the Nissan Pathfinder is having problems, we at AAMCO want to correct the problem sooner rather than later to avoid costly repairs and further damage to your vehicle.Perry *.
