Dear Revdex.com: Mr. [redacted] brought WFI4U his 1984 Ford Ranger on August 10, 2015. The information Mr. [redacted] gave was "The truck will die after running it at full throttle for a few minutes." That has the characteristics of a fuel or electrical issue. I said we should be able to fix that time plus...

parts. WFI4U tested each cylinder for spark at the spark plug, they tested good. Then we tested to see if the custom carburetor had fuel coming to it, it did. After testing for fuel at the custom carburetor we tested fuel pressure at the custom fuel pump Mr. [redacted] has on his truck. The reading we got was 1psi which would cause the truck to die at full throttle. Carburetors need 3-5psi to run right. So WFI4U put in a new fuel pump, after installing the new pump it tested at 3psi. Then I test drove Mr. [redacted] truck up a steep hill and it was running fine it didn't die. So I called Mr. [redacted] to have him come by to pick up his truck. He ask me if I would take a card for payment I said yes but I have to put 3% on his bill he said he would pay cash this was on August 11, 2015. Then on August 12,2015 Mr. [redacted] text "i@xl'® she didn't die but at with full throttle for a period of time she stutters. Also my hubs got locked in and engine I think overheated. Anyway. Think my br i@xl'l@akes have partially locked up Cuz she won't roll backwards. This thing is a money pit." After I receive Mr. [redacted] confusing text I called him and talked to him about other issues with his truck. At that point I thought it might be the carburetor and I gave him a name of a person who Is an expert on carburetors. And he worked with Mr. [redacted] for free for a couple of hours, then Mr. [redacted] has not gotten back to him. After that I got another text from Mr.[redacted] same day August 12, 2015 l@x0;@ I am still a little upset spent 335.00n truck still won't drive on hiway. Tought u completely understood my trucks driving. fuel problems. I know I to l@xO;Id u it stalls out on hi way when I brought it in. N still did as soon as I left the shop. U said it might be timing. Now its float level maybe. I wish I i@xO;? knew where to turn. I keep putting money out and still can't drive it. Then I sent Mr. [redacted] a long text, and here It Is. [redacted] anytime you have anything mechanical and it gets modified and you have issues with it, it takes time and money to get it fixed. The testing I did identified one issue low fuel pressure. And I fixed that issue but obviously there's more issues with it. I always do small steps when it comes to repairs To keep my customers from spending a lot of money. Then Mr. [redacted] text me back i@x8k @I truly understand that, but I need it fixed to drive it. N I still can't. I am not a mechanic. I am still not sure what my problem is. Tune-up? which I l@xBk paid another mechanic 250.00 for or carb adjustment-which I said you could do If it needed it, but you said all it was, was a bad pump. And tank system i@x8k#pl pump guys online about the pump they ignored me. 80.00 gone 600.00 and still doesn't run on hi way. I still think its the fuel tank. i@xBK?@ is good. Anyway maybe a road test would have helped in this case. Before I picked it up thinking problem was solved. No big deal Bill. Contacted the fuel Then I text Mr. [redacted] back. Yes it is a big deal. I know cars are very frustrating. Especially when they don't run. I drove your car around my neighborhood and it seemed to be doing fine. Going up steep hills. I think Curt (is the carb expert) is probably one of the best carburetor guys in town. I stand behind my work and if there any issues with the fuel pump I will fix it at no cost. And I inspected the tank and it seems to be fine. We sent multiple texts back and forth. The last time I heard from Mr. [redacted] was September 22, 2015 and I sent him a refund in check form YRAP#2 (Your Refund As Promise #2) on the for line of the check and Mr. [redacted] took that the wrong way. Then I received your complaint letter on September 29, 2015. I feel I did nothing wrong but work on a customized truck that maybe I should not have. We Fix lt4 U John * H[redacted] owner
