WE MOVE IT was requested to move a hot tub. Our fee is $300 dollars for hot tubs that have good access to remove and deliver to new location. He also needed the 220v power unhooked which runs $50. we arrived the hot tub was in a recessed lower tier concreted pad. I explained to [redacted] at that time it would run $450. because of the extra time it would take. [redacted] agreed to the extra fees. We arrived to the new location and the hot tub would not fit through the fence because of a terrace that was too low. We had to wait for [redacted] to remove parts of the terrace and we had to move the hot tub to another specialty sled that has slides lower to the ground. After 40 minutes I explained to [redacted] that we base our delivery fees on time, and the fee would be an additional $50. dollars. Because of the additional obstacles moving the hot tub, we spent close to three times the amount that should have taken to deliver a standard spa. We have pictures of the hot tub if necessary. I am rejecting this response because:  I was initially quoted 350 for moving and power disconnect on my hottub, for helping and easy access.  I was told after taking the time off work and after [redacted] arrived that it would be an extra 100 dollars.  I wasn’t left with a choice, so I accepted.  It took 3 people, myself included an extra 10 minutes to lift the hottub up 18 inches.  It took [redacted] about triple that to unhook his trailer and drive home to get the proper tools to access the power to my hottub and to rehook to his trailer.  I didn’t charge for my time.  After bringing the tub to the new location, it took at most an extra 20 minutes to readjust the hottub to be lower and me unbolting 2 small support beams on a wooden structure so the hottub would fit under it- which is part of moving- making adjustments.  I was told that I would be charged an extra 50 for the extra time.  None of these amounts add up to a service that seems to charge 100 an hour.  My service in total was under 3.  The money doesn’t add up.

Review: My radio was not unloaded from the moving truck. It was under a moving blanket. When I asked about it, I was told "the truck is empty". I purchased the radio @ 10 yrs ago. It cost @ $500. It is a reproduction of an antique radio- wooden box @ 8x10x 10. I called the company but they do not answer my calls.Desired Settlement: I would like my radio returned.

Response:

Our customer was pleased with our service the day of the move, then I was called the day after the move, and I was asked if there was a radio left in our moving truck. I responded by saying, our policy is that at the end of the move we move all moving blankets from one side of the truck to the other side of the truck, to make sure no items have been left behind. I told the customer that I would check the moving truck once again to make sure. The same day I once again moved the blankets to make sure nothing was left behind. I explained to the customer that I am the owner of the company, and I was one of the movers. There was no radio left on the truck, or any other item. She said she wanted $500. dollars for the radio. We are sorry that they cant locate a missing a radio, but we did not take or know where her radio is.

Response:

We forgot to include this important piece of information. After all the household goods were moved into her new place, the customer was unable to pay the $519. dollars in full, so WE MOVE IT agreed for them to pay $300 at the time and $219.00 on 12/03/13. WE MOVE IT was nice enough to give her the chance to pay in two payments rather than demanding payment in full. We made an exception for this customer and now are being accused of theft. If this customer pays for the lie detector test, I would absolutely take the test, it is our reputation that we want to protect. The balance of her bill will be taken to small claims court.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Everything in their response is a lie. Wllile they were still at my new place I asked where my radio

was several times. This happened both inside and outside. Wllile outside one of the movers tllrew

blankets over something in the truck. I am sure it was my radio. He said file truck was empty and

wouldn't let me look in the truck.

One of my neighbors in my old apartlnent saw the movers put my radio in their moving truck. It

should have the first thing off the truck as it was the last thing loaded in the truck.

We Move It quoted a price of $300 to both my son alld I. After they moved me in I gave them $300

cash. They then changed the amount due to $519. I don't owe them mlytlling more.

When they left I discovered my ladder had not been brought inside but left outside leaning against

the wall near the front door. They also had removed my microwave stand's rollers and then

couldn't find them thinking they had put them in a box. I found them later inside the microwave

stand. One of the movers came back about a week alter and put them back on the stand.

Sincerely,

Response:

I have been trying to give [redacted] the benefit of the doubt, thinking she was just confused but now after reading this last statement, she is just a liar. I am [redacted] the owner of WE MOVE IT, I have been in business for five years now and have never faced these accusations before. We moved [redacted] 11/02/13 from Anderson to Redding. While there, [redacted] had many people in her house, [redacted] signed our work order before we started to move her, the work order stated 99.00hr. with a three hour minimum. This was a local move, and the move took 5.250 hrs. which came to $519.75. [redacted] stated after the move that she is was on a limited income, if she could pay $300 in cash and next month by 12/03/13 she would send WE MOVE IT the balance of $219.75. I have two signatures on [redacted]'s work order, 1. signed the work order $99.00 per hour & 3 hour minimum 2. Stating (owe 219.75 by 12/03/13 with her signature next to it. This conflicts [redacted]'s perjured written statement. [redacted] never asked me about a radio while we were there, nor would I refuse anybody wanting access to my truck if they thought I had their stuff in my truck. If she really thought I stole her radio, that is considered theft and I have not seen any police report from that day. I was home when [redacted] first called me asking about her radio, I do not recall any radio but I explained every move we transfer our blankets from one side of the truck, to the other. This is to make sure we do not leave with any customers property hidden by blankets. But I told her I would recheck the truck again to double check. [redacted]'s statement that I wouldn't let her in my moving truck is simply not the truth. I even had an employee come back to her house free of charge because when we packed her cart on rollers, we removed the rollers, and could not find the box it was put in. After [redacted] found them, we came out and put them back on. In closing we have no Idea where her radio is, there were at least five other people in that apartment when we were moving her out. I am still out $219.75, and I feel that is why she accusing us with theft. I will have to take her to small claims to recover the remaining balance. The work order is available for viewing upon request.
