I was referred to this business by another company. The owner first came out to look at the roof and told me to contact the insurance adjuster. The adjuster came out and so did the business owner. Everyone seemed to be on the same page when leaving that day. The job was to be a total tear off of all the shingles, replacing vents, gutters and downspouts. It was awhile before the job was started. I received a text on a Sunday, asking if they could start the work. I was not there that day but told him to get started. I came home later that afternoon and they were in process. I could see that they were not doing a tear off and they were working on the original layer. He covered over what was already there. The vents were not replaced. They were 3 packages shy of completing the shingle work. He stated he would be back the next day. I told him that the vents were not replaced and how they were dented. He did replace the vents after this conversation. I then asked about the downspouts and guttering. He stated he never intended to change these because he was going to use this money to cover our deductible. He and another man came to work on the downspouts. They only brought 3 with them. I told them that the house contained more than 3 downspouts. They discussed their options for a bit, put the downspouts down and left. I did not hear back from them for about 5 days. He contacted me and told me the man would be back to work on them. I stated I did not want them to come back out.
I was replacing the gutters out of my pocket; she told me not to come back on the property. She still owes me money on the job.

I am rejecting this response because:
In response to this complaint, the owner of We Roof Springfield, *** met with us and the insurance adjuster at the same time outside our house in April, the day the first check was issued for the roofing and other supplies. Prior to meeting with the adjuster, we had informed *** that we did not have the money for the deductible to fix our roof, and he informed us, given our health situation, that he would help us out. Thinking he had some kind Benevolence Fund, we agreed for him to do our roof, etc. The adjuster told my husband and I and *** that he wanted a complete year-off of the shingles, the vents replaced, as well as the downspouts and guttering. Then the adjuster issued the first check and left. When *** texted me on a Sunday morning and said his crew was there and could they start. Even though we were in church at the time, we agreed they could start. After church we came home to find the tear-off had not been done and they were, instead, covering the one layer that was there. When they were done shingling, I mentioned the vents had not been replaced. They came and did it the next day or so after we complained. (After our next downpour, it was leaking in our bathroom around one of the vents). When I asked why he had shingled over the one layer and not replaced the downspouts and guttering (which he had received money for included in the first check), he said he never intended to replace the downspouts and gutters and what he had done was to cover the cost of our deductible. We contacted first our attorney, then the insurance company, the Attorney General and the Revdex.com with this story just as it is reported here. When he brought the three downspouts, he reported he paid for with his own money (see above about first insurance check), he should have remembered we had five downspouts to replace and the guttering. We never received a second check from the insurance company, and we dismissed *** in July since the work was still not done and we felt he had been dishonest with the insurance company, as well as our family. Sincerely
we would like to say that we want the money back from *** that he was given to replace the downspouts and guttering, so we can pay someone else to finish the job that *** failed to finish.
