To Whom It May Concern:
in response to the complaint sent by [redacted], I would like to clear the confusion on the incident. The total job was a flight of steps, including handrail, plus 499 square feet of flooring to be sanded, stained and refinished. My...

worker and I completed the project, and were under the impression it was initially above, and beyond the customer, [redacted]'s expectations. There was an area 5x14 square feet that appeared to be a different color compared to the remaining floor, near the windows. Being near the windows we thought the discoloration was a result of sunlight, I discussed this issue with [redacted], and told her to allow a few weeks for the floor stain to become uniform. With many years of experience, I have seen the same issue on numerous occasions. [redacted] acknowledged, and was completely happy, and willing to pay the remaining balance. A month after completion of the job, and the discussion, [redacted] contacted me saying the floor color was still not uniform. On the same day as the call I drove to her house to confirm the accusations about the floor color, which were correct. During this visit I inspected the floor, took photos, and ruled that the stain was faulty. Following the visit, I went to [redacted], where the stain was purchased, and filed a claim. I was reimbursed for the stain, and labor for the 5x14 square foot area. At this point I contacted [redacted]. [redacted] about returning to her residence and rectifying the problem with the new stain. A date was agreed upon between both parties, however, because of her work schedule, the date was moved twice. After not hearing back from her, I honestly forgot about the issue, as I was very busy with my own schedule at this point. A year later [redacted]. [redacted] has now contacted me to repay her in full, for the entire job. 75% of the labor charges were for the steps, and handrail, which were not damaged, and completed to her satisfaction. I offered [redacted]. [redacted] a refund for the faulty stained area, and labor, which comes to $385 ($340 for labor, $45 for stain). My worker/witness, [redacted] is fully aware of the situation, and is willing to testify on my behalf.

Review: [redacted] Weaber of Weaber Flooring was contracted to refinish the hardwood floors in my private residence. The work was to be done when I was away on vacation. Upon returning I saw the stain on the flooring had turned out two different colors. [redacted] Weaber did not even bring attention to this matter. When I asked about the two tone flooring he replied "give it two weeks it will cure and even out." Against my better judgement I paid [redacted] Weaber in full. After two weeks it was the same so I called [redacted] Weaber. [redacted] Weaber came back to my house and blamed it on the materials used. He took pictures and filed a claim against the seller of materials. It may have been [redacted]. He told me that he received payment for the claim and he would redo my flooring. I had reservations and I told [redacted] Weaber that I would like a refund instead. He agreed and told me he would send a check. I received no check and he will not return my phone calls. I hired [redacted] Weaber through a website called [redacted]. They did get in contact with him and he told them he would be sending a check. I again received no check and he did not answer their subsequent phone calls.Desired Settlement: I would like $2,497 that I paid [redacted] Weaber and an additional reasonable sum of money because of the extra work I am doing to get my hard earned money back. If someone could advise me on this amount I am thinking around $1000.
