The homeowner says that I made statements in my response to his original complaint and I can assure you that I did not This homeowner says that he does not have any previous relationship with any of the roofers that came to his house BEFORE he called me out to look at his leaks However, in his response to my supposed "statement #7", he mentions how his "wife's family is full of people in the trades" and he did lead me to believe that he atleast knew one or more of the roofers who came out to his house to assess the leaks Also, something that I don't believe I really brought up in my initial response is, if this homeowner believes that my company did not install his roof properly for the seller of this house, then why did he not call me up immediately after he noticed a leak? Why did he call other roofing companies first? Like I said before, I was trying to go above and beyond for this homeowner, but the whole situation just never seemed right to me and even after the homeowner unexpectedly told me to leave without performing a water test, I still offered to pay something for his roof repair if it could BE PROVEN that there was a leak resulting from the work that we did However, it is true that I have retracted this offer due to the fact that this homeowner has proven to show his utter disregard for the truth and has continued to lie about the events that took place when I met with him As this homeowner states, it is true that my warranty does not say whether it can or can not be transferred Therefore, the default implication is that it can not be transferred and is only valid for the client that is listed on the warranty, which is not this particular homeowner Once again, I always try to go above and beyond for people so I was simply tying to help this new homeowner out in whatever way seemed reasonable, which, to me, would be performing a water test and seeing if I could duplicate any sort of leak Unfortunately, I was never afforded the opportunity to do this since the homeowner unexpectedly and very rudely kicked me out of his houseIn regards to him texting me the warranty documents, I never received anything and I would be happy to show my phone records to show that I have never received any text from this homeownerThis homeowner goes on to say that I made several more statements, which simply are not true, so instead of going back and forth over and over again, I will simply refer to the one thing that matters most, which is that my warranty clearly states: " If homeowner, OTHER ROOFING COMPANY, or anyone other than a representative/employee of Weathers Exteriors, LLC performs, alters, or attempts to repair a leak or blown shingle BEFORE Weathers Exteriors, LLC is allowed to REMEDY THE PROBLEM this warranty will be NULL AND VOID and Weathers Exteriors, LLC will not be held liable for damage to roof or property of homeowner" The first thing about this is that other roofing companies came out before me and I have no idea what they may or may not have done to the roof, and apparently an actual repair has already been done by [redacted] Roofing, as the homeowner clearly states Therefore, any compensation that I may have wanted to extend, out of the goodness of my heart, to this homeowner, is not something I am actually obligated or willing to do at this point

All of the roofing companies we consulted with indicated that the leak was a result of a faulty job done by the previous roofer (Weathers Exterior) at the chimney of the house Statement #2: “I told him that I thought something like this should have been taken care of during the inspection process and that I should have been notified by the seller, who was my actual client, if they wanted to transfer their warranty.” Please review the warranty document provided by [redacted] and the original warranty given to us by the previous owners Under no circumstances does it direct customers to call Weathers Exteriors to transfer Additionally, nowhere in the document does it say “non-transferrable” It was not detected during the inspection process and ultimately it has been found to be caused by the poor workmanship of Weathers Exteriors Statement #3: “This homeowner did not have the workmanship warranty from our actual customer in his possession, or at least did not tell me that he did or show it to me ” This is a blatant lie Please see attached copy of the original warranty left with us by the previous owners of our home During our initial telephone conversation on 9/19/I informed [redacted] that we had a copy of the Warranty and original receipts should he require them [redacted] requested copies of the original receipts be texted to him because he was having trouble locating the records I have proof of this text message exchange on my cell phone and can make these records available if needed Statement #4: “We could not find any areas on the roof that showed obvious signs of allowing water to get into his house ” I had been informed by the roofing contractors we spoke to prior to [redacted] coming out that the roof was done incorrectly around the chimney I pointed to this area and told [redacted] what the other companies told me He responded “we did not replace the flashing” To which I stated, “I understand that, but isn’t your product (the roof) supposed to work with the flashing in place?” To this question he said, “yes, we would make sure that the roof we installed works with the flashing already in place” Please review the attached document from [redacted] Roofing and Exteriors They documented, upon taking the problem area apart, that they discovered that Weathers Exteriors did not do a sufficient/acceptable job while installing the roof to ensure the roof wouldn’t leak They included pictures that showed holes in the roof where water was free to enter the home Statement #5: “ we went into his house to assess the damage from the inside I still could not see any definitive evidence that showed water was coming in through the roof, and the homeowner could not point to any one area where he thought the leak was coming from either At that point, I told him that the damage I was seeing on the floor and the walls inside of his house were consistent with tuck pointing issues and/or issues around the frames of windows that I have seen in the past.” Prior to [redacted] coming out, we had the following people inspect the leak: Insurance Agent, [redacted] , Water Leak Specialist and [redacted] Roofing & Exteriors All of them indicated the leak was coming from the roof area, not the window or tuckpointing [redacted] (and later [redacted] ) used a moisture meter to measure the moisture in the wall and found that it was most wet at the top of the wall (near the roof line at the chimney) Please see attached cover letter from [redacted] that they included with their invoice, which documents where they determined the water to be coming from I explained all this to [redacted] when he was at my home and he immediately stated I was given wrong information and blamed the leak on everything but the roof Also, we had independent window companies come to our house and tell us the window has not leaked and that the problem was from the roof, not the window Statement #6: “However, I did offer to perform a water test to determine if any water was getting into his house through the roof This test typically takes about 15-minutes .Unfortunately, I was unable to perform this test because, as soon as I suggested that we do this the homeowner told me to ‘please leave’.” [redacted] is misrepresenting the sequence of events in an attempt to make me look bad After [redacted] denied what I told him the other contractors had told me and blamed the leak on everything but the roof I asked [redacted] : “Are you denying responsibility for this leak and subsequent damage?” To which he responded “Yes, we did not replace the flashing on the roof and in my opinion the leak is resulting from tuckpointing, the window ” At this point I said to [redacted] , “If you have no intention of helping me or taking responsibility or honoring your warranty please leave.” I wasn’t rude, nor did I raise my voice As we were walking down the stairs of my home, [redacted] asked if he could perform a water test I asked what it would show since the wall wasn’t opened and we wouldn’t be able to determine anything He couldn’t give me a definitive answer Statement #7: “ but he clearly had an attitude at this point For the record, I never cursed at him during the course of this exchange, as he claims He continued talking down to me as I was standing outside ” My wife witnessed/heard most of the conversation I had with [redacted] My year old son was within earshot of [redacted] when he cursed at me It is inexcusable behavior to curse at someone, especially when children are nearby I was shocked and overwhelmingly offended when [redacted] resorted to using that language My wife’s family is full of people who work in the trades, my best friend is a plumber; [redacted] insinuation that I talked down to him is an insult I was doing everything I could to be nice to [redacted] , as it was my hope he would honor the warranty and help fix the problem Why would I talk down or be rude to someone I’m expecting to honor a warranty and fix a serious problem? Statement #8: “ I realized that I had left my ladder in his backyard, and when I got to his backyard he was very hastily taking my ladder down, in an obvious effort to conceal my ladder from me.” I have been called many things in my life, but never has anyone accused me of attempted theft When I first read this statement I was enraged, in complete disbelief However, after I had time to think about everything and process the entire response, it became clear to me that [redacted] is making any attempt possible to discredit me and my family, even if that means falsely accusing me of theft The supporting documents I have attached show his company did a poor job when installing the roof and the resulting damage is significant As such, he is going to do everything he can to avoid responsibility Continuing off of what I said earlier, why would I attempt to steal a ladder from someone I’m hoping will honor a warranty and fix my problem? I was standing next to his ladder when [redacted] came around into the backyard I was not touching his ladder and was definitely not “taking it down” because I wouldn’t have the slightest clue how to work it (it was not a standard ladder like you regularly see) I filed a Revdex.com complaint against [redacted] after receiving his voicemail (attached audio file in my rebuttal), in which he indicated he may consider covering the cost for the roof repairs and that he would not cover any mold removal or the cost to repair any damage The only reason I contacted [redacted] on 11/was based on him stating (as he left my property in September) “if you can provide me evidence that roof is faulty or this was my fault contact me ” My wife heard him say this and he reiterated this in his voicemail I find it very odd and concerning that [redacted] is completely backtracking from his offer to provide any assistance at all now that I have filed a Revdex.com complaint I attempted to give [redacted] an opportunity in September to fix the problem and he denied all responsibility Per his request on the day he was leaving, once I was armed with proof that the problem resulted from his company’s poor workmanship I contacted him His response to potentially cover the roof repair and not cover any of the mold removal and subsequent repairs was unacceptable to me, so I contacted Revdex.com StLouis Again, both my wife and I heard him say “if you can provide me evidence that roof is faulty or this was my fault contact me ” when he was leaving Additionally, he states in his voicemail that if we provide proof that the roof he installed was faulty he would consider compensating us I don’t understand how you can say you will take responsibility (states this in his voicemail from 11/9), but when faced with the facts that clearly show you are to blame, deny responsibility In his voicemail, [redacted] claims he can’t be held responsible for the mold and subsequent damage to the wall, as he was not informed there was an issue This is not true My wife and I purchased our home on 7/ As soon as we discovered the problem and the roof warranty, I contacted Weathers Exteriors (initial conversation with [redacted] occurred on 9/19) Per Missouri law, had the previous owners been aware of any leaks, they would have been required to disclose that information on the seller’s disclosure As you can see in the attached sellers disclosure (page of specifically) from our sales contract, the sellers made no such mention of any leak Again, as soon as we were aware of the leak and the cause, we contacted Weathers Exteriors Sadly, I feel Weathers Exteriors never had any intention of honoring the warranty This is based on the blatant lies/accusations in Weathers Exteriors’ response It is a clear attempt to discredit me (and my wife) to avoid taking responsibilityTrust me when I say that nobody hates this situation more than my wife and me We purchased this home to raise our family in and make our forever home However, due to the faulty workmanship of Weathers Exteriors we are still battling issues Our son has had to sleep in a downstairs office while we have tackled the mold issue upstairs The wall where the leak/mold occurred is still not completely repaired It is unfortunate that the issue happened, no doubt about it Our resolution request is very fair, as there are many things we are not asking Weathers Exteriors to cover: replacing the flooring in the damaged room (carpet in the impacted room had to be thrown away), drywall repair and paint We are requesting that Weathers Exteriors, LLC honor the year workmanship warranty they provided when they installed the roof and that [redacted] honor his word to my wife and I that he makes this situation right $Roof repair completed by [redacted] Roofing and Exteriors attached invoice is for $1, [redacted] ’s invoice included additional work done near the garage (not associated with the leak/problem) Based on the other estimates we received the work to repair the problem area, associated with the poor workmanship of Weathers Exteriors, we are requesting $$Mold Removal ( [redacted] ) Please note I also included an estimate we received from [redacted] , we decided not to use [redacted] due to the higher cost$Rebuild wall ( [redacted] Construction Group) As you can see the work does not include drywall, trim and paint To save money I will be paying an uncle to do the work himself $TOTAL Respectfully, [redacted] ***

The homeowner says that I made false statements in my response to his original complaint and I can assure you that I did not.  This homeowner says that he does not have any previous relationship with any of the 4 roofers that came to his house BEFORE he called me out to look at his leaks.  However, in his response to my supposed "False statement #7", he mentions how his "wife's family is full of people in the trades" and he did lead me to believe that he atleast knew one or more of the roofers who came out to his house to assess the leaks.  Also, something that I don't believe I really brought up in my initial response is, if this homeowner believes that my company did not install his roof properly for the seller of this house, then why did he not call me up immediately after he noticed a leak?  Why did he call 4 other roofing companies first?  Like I said before, I was trying to go above and beyond for this homeowner, but the whole situation just never seemed right to me and even after the homeowner unexpectedly told me to leave without performing a water test, I still offered to pay something for his roof repair if it could BE PROVEN that there was a leak resulting from the work that we did.  However, it is true that I have retracted this offer due to the fact that this homeowner has proven to show his utter disregard for the truth and has continued to lie about the events that took place when I met with him.       As this homeowner states, it is true that my warranty does not say whether it can or can not be transferred.  Therefore, the default implication is that it can not be transferred and is only valid for the client that is listed on the warranty, which is not this particular homeowner.  Once again, I always try to go above and beyond for people so I was simply tying to help this new homeowner out in whatever way seemed reasonable, which, to me, would be performing a water test and seeing if I could duplicate any sort of leak.  Unfortunately, I was never afforded the opportunity to do this since the homeowner unexpectedly and very rudely kicked me out of his house. In regards to him texting me the warranty documents, I never received anything and I would be happy to show my phone records to show that I have never received any text from this homeowner. This homeowner goes on to say that I made several more false statements, which simply are not true, so instead of going back and forth over and over again, I will simply refer to the one thing that matters most, which is that my warranty clearly states: " If homeowner, OTHER ROOFING COMPANY, or anyone other than a representative/employee of Weathers Exteriors, LLC performs, alters, or attempts to repair a leak or blown shingle BEFORE Weathers Exteriors, LLC is allowed to REMEDY THE PROBLEM this warranty will be NULL AND VOID and Weathers Exteriors, LLC will not be held liable for damage to roof or property of homeowner".  The first thing about this is that 4 other roofing companies came out before me and I have no idea what they may or may not have done to the roof, and apparently an actual repair has already been done by [redacted] Roofing, as the homeowner clearly states.  Therefore, any compensation that I may have wanted to extend, out of the goodness of my heart, to this homeowner, is not something I am actually obligated or willing to do at this point.

the poor workmanship.  In this bid they clearly state "Flashing was not replaced during the roof install and left poorly done"   Here is my reopen request/rebuttal   Dear Revdex.com St. Louis, What follows is a request to reopen my complaint against Weathers Exteriors LLC.  The business’s response to my complaint was littered with false statements, inaccurate timelines and worst of all, an accusation of theft.  I intend to go line by line through the response provided by [redacted] to rebut his statements and provide documented proof of my claim.   False Statement #1:  “The owner told me that he had several other roofing companies, that people he knew worked for or referred to him, to look at the leak and that no one could tell him for sure where the leak was coming in at.”   My wife and I received multiple bids and proposals from local roofing companies.  I did not and do not have a personal relationship with a single individual we contacted or with any of the companies.  Attached to my rebuttal you will find estimates/bids from 4 independent roofing/leak specialist companies (Water Leak Specialist, [redacted] and [redacted]) and the invoice from the company we hired ([redacted] Roofing and Exteriors) to correct the problem that Weather Exteriors caused.  Again, if I had a personal relationship with any roofing contractors, why would we have gone through all the trouble to get multiple bids?  All 4 of the roofing companies we consulted with indicated that the leak was a result of a faulty job done by the previous roofer (Weathers Exterior) at the chimney of the house.   False Statement #2:  “I told him that I thought something like this should have been taken care of during the inspection process and that I should have been notified by the seller, who was my actual client, if they wanted to transfer their warranty.”   Please review the warranty document provided by [redacted] and the original warranty given to us by the previous owners.  Under no circumstances does it direct customers to call Weathers Exteriors to transfer.  Additionally, nowhere in the document does it say “non-transferrable”.  It was not detected during the inspection process and ultimately it has been found to be caused by the poor workmanship of Weathers Exteriors.   False Statement #3:  “This homeowner did not have the workmanship warranty from our actual customer in his possession, or at least did not tell me that he did or show it to me…”   This is a blatant lie.  Please see attached copy of the original warranty left with us by the previous owners of our home.  During our initial telephone conversation on 9/19/2016 I informed [redacted] that we had a copy of the Warranty and original receipts should he require them.  [redacted] requested copies of the original receipts be texted to him because he was having trouble locating the records.  I have proof of this text message exchange on my cell phone and can make these records available if needed.   False Statement #4:  “We could not find any areas on the roof that showed obvious signs of allowing water to get into his house…”   I had been informed by the roofing contractors we spoke to prior to [redacted] coming out that the roof was done incorrectly around the chimney.  I pointed to this area and told [redacted] what the other companies told me.  He responded “we did not replace the flashing”.  To which I stated, “I understand that, but isn’t your product (the roof) supposed to work with the flashing in place?”  To this question he said, “yes, we would make sure that the roof we installed works with the flashing already in place”.  Please review the attached document from [redacted] Roofing and Exteriors.  They documented, upon taking the problem area apart, that they discovered that Weathers Exteriors did not do a sufficient/acceptable job while installing the roof to ensure the roof wouldn’t leak.  They included pictures that showed holes in the roof where water was free to enter the home.   False Statement #5:  “…we went into his house to assess the damage from the inside.  I still could not see any definitive evidence that showed water was coming in through the roof, and the homeowner could not point to any one area where he thought the leak was coming from either.  At that point, I told him that the damage I was seeing on the floor and the walls inside of his house were consistent with tuck pointing issues and/or issues around the frames of windows that I have seen in the past.”   Prior to [redacted] coming out, we had the following people inspect the leak: Insurance Agent, [redacted], Water Leak Specialist and [redacted] Roofing & Exteriors.  All of them indicated the leak was coming from the roof area, not the window or tuckpointing.  [redacted] (and later [redacted]) used a moisture meter to measure the moisture in the wall and found that it was most wet at the top of the wall (near the roof line at the chimney).  Please see attached cover letter from [redacted] that they included with their invoice, which documents where they determined the water to be coming from.  I explained all this to [redacted] when he was at my home and he immediately stated I was given wrong information and blamed the leak on everything but the roof.  Also, we had 3 independent window companies come to our house and tell us the window has not leaked and that the problem was from the roof, not the window.   False Statement #6:  “However, I did offer to perform a water test to determine if any water was getting into his house through the roof.  This test typically takes about 15-20 minutes….Unfortunately, I was unable to perform this test because, as soon as I suggested that we do this the homeowner told me to ‘please leave’.”   [redacted] is misrepresenting the sequence of events in an attempt to make me look bad.  After [redacted] denied what I told him the other contractors had told me and blamed the leak on everything but the roof I asked [redacted]: “Are you denying responsibility for this leak and subsequent damage?”  To which he responded “Yes, we did not replace the flashing on the roof and in my opinion the leak wouldn’t be able to determine anything.  He couldn’t give me a definitive answer.   False Statement #7:  “…but he clearly had an attitude at this point.  For the record, I never cursed at him during the course of this exchange, as he claims.  He continued talking down to me as I was standing outside…”   My wife witnessed/heard most of the conversation I had with [redacted].  My 2 year old son was within earshot of [redacted] when he cursed at me.  It is inexcusable behavior to curse at someone, especially when children are nearby.  I was shocked and overwhelmingly offended when [redacted] resorted to using that language.  My wife’s family is full of people who work in the trades, my best friend is a plumber; [redacted] insinuation that I talked down to him is an insult.  I was doing everything I could to be nice to [redacted], as it was my hope he would honor the warranty and help fix the problem.  Why would I talk down or be rude to someone I’m expecting to honor a warranty and fix a serious problem?   False Statement #8:  “…I realized that I had left my ladder in his backyard, and when I got to his backyard he was very hastily taking my ladder down, in an obvious effort to conceal my ladder from me.”   I have been called many things in my life, but never has anyone accused me of attempted theft.  When I first read this statement I was enraged, in complete disbelief.  However, after I had time to think about everything and process the entire response, it became clear to me that [redacted] is making any attempt possible to discredit me and my family, even if that means falsely accusing me of theft.  The supporting documents I have attached show his company did a poor job when installing the roof and the resulting damage is significant.  As such, he is going to do everything he can to avoid responsibility.  Continuing off of what I said earlier, why would I attempt to steal a ladder from someone I’m hoping will honor a warranty and fix my problem?  I was standing next to his ladder when [redacted] came around into the backyard.  I was not touching his ladder and was definitely not “taking it down” because I wouldn’t have the slightest clue how to work it (it was not a standard ladder like you regularly see).   I filed a Revdex.com complaint against [redacted] after receiving his voicemail (attached audio file in my rebuttal), in which he indicated he may consider covering the cost for the roof repairs and that he would not cover any mold removal or the cost to repair any damage.  The only reason I contacted [redacted] on 11/9 was based on him stating (as he left my property in September) “if you can provide me evidence that roof is faulty or this was my fault contact me…”  My wife heard him say this and he reiterated this in his voicemail.  I find it very odd and concerning that [redacted] is completely backtracking from his offer to provide any assistance at all now that I have filed a Revdex.com complaint.    I attempted to give [redacted] an opportunity in September to fix the problem and he denied all responsibility.  Per his request on the day he was leaving, once I was armed with proof that the problem resulted from his company’s poor workmanship I contacted him.  His response to potentially cover the roof repair and not cover any of the mold removal and subsequent repairs was unacceptable to me, so I contacted Revdex.com St. Louis.  Again, both my wife and I heard him say “if you can provide me evidence that roof is faulty or this was my fault contact me…” when he was leaving.  Additionally, he states in his voicemail that if we provide proof that the roof he installed was faulty he would consider compensating us.  I don’t understand how you can say you will take responsibility (states this in his voicemail from 11/9), but when faced with the facts that clearly show you are to blame, deny responsibility.  In his voicemail, [redacted] claims he can’t be held responsible for the mold and subsequent damage to the wall, as he was not informed there was an issue.  This is not true.  My wife and I purchased our home on 7/29.  As soon as we discovered the problem and the roof warranty, I contacted Weathers Exteriors (initial conversation with [redacted] occurred on 9/19).  Per Missouri law, had the previous owners been aware of any leaks, they would have been required to disclose that information on the seller’s disclosure.  As you can see in the attached sellers disclosure (page 3 of 6 specifically) from our sales contract, the sellers made no such mention of any leak.  Again, as soon as we were aware of the leak and the cause, we contacted Weathers Exteriors.  Sadly, I feel Weathers Exteriors never had any intention of honoring the warranty.  This is based on the blatant lies/accusations in Weathers Exteriors’ response.  It is a clear attempt to discredit me (and my wife) to avoid taking responsibility. Trust me when I say that nobody hates this situation more than my wife and me.  We purchased this home to raise our family in and make our forever home.  However, due to the faulty workmanship of Weathers Exteriors we are still battling issues.  Our son has had to sleep in a downstairs office while we have tackled the mold issue upstairs.  The wall where the leak/mold occurred is still not completely repaired.  It is unfortunate that the issue happened, no doubt about it.  Our resolution request is very fair, as there are many things we are not asking Weathers Exteriors to cover: replacing the flooring in the damaged room (carpet in the impacted room had to be thrown away), drywall repair and paint.  We are requesting that Weathers Exteriors, LLC honor the 5 year workmanship warranty they provided when they installed the roof and that [redacted] honor his word to my wife and I that he makes this situation right.   $500 Roof repair completed by [redacted] Roofing and Exteriors attached invoice is for $1,348.96.  [redacted]’s invoice included additional work done near the garage (not associated with the leak/problem).  Based on the other estimates we received the work to repair the problem area, associated with the poor workmanship of Weathers Exteriors, we are requesting $500 $875.28 Mold Removal ([redacted]).  Please note I also included an estimate we received from [redacted], we decided not to use [redacted] due to the higher cost. $1528.49 Rebuild wall ([redacted] Construction Group).  As you can see the work does not include drywall, trim and paint.  To save money I will be paying an uncle to do the work himself.   $2903.77 TOTAL Respectfully, [redacted]
