Weaver Commercial & Home Improvements Reviews (%countItem)

In August 2019, I signed a contract with Leave it to Weaver Construction. We agreed on a patio and roofing extension project. However, it is now August 3rd 2020 and the project is still not complete, damage has been done to my home and I am dissatisfied by his work. I have text messages from April 2020, whereby *** explains the project will aim to wrap up by the end of the month. Due to his unprofessional nature, lack of communication and utter disregard to rectify the situation he has left me with no choice but to contact the Revdex.com so others are not victim to this company and *** Weaver. I have a list of items that have been damaged in the process of *** Weaver's construction job on my home: damage to my concrete, damage to my glass screen door, damage to ceiling drywall and roof. I will explain these damages in order. First, the blueprints that were approved by the city and issued a permit was to have 6 pillars and 6 piers. Two of the pillars are a quarter inch too short of reaching the roof its supposed to "support" and thus does not support the joist at all. When questioned, *** Weaver claimed these pillars were not needed and this was only "cosmetic". If these pillars were only cosmetic and provide no support, why would my concrete patio need to be busted up with a sledgehammer and two piers poured? My concrete patio was cracked (18 inch crack) because a concrete saw was not properly used to cut through concrete so a sledge hammer was used that cracked the concrete. The blueprints approved by the city never indicated that these pillars would be merely "cosmetic". Secondly, my glass screen door has been damaged due to *** Weaver's worker dropping a board with nails against it. The nails have left 3 deep scratches in my glass door. Lastly, I have a water leak in the ceiling of the roof installed by Weaver. I have attempted to get this fixed several times by Weaver to no avail. On July 25 2020, *** was told about the leak via text (with photos). I have most his exchanges with me via text in an effort to capture his word. He sent over a person who over applied silicone caulk to the roof, around the chimney and J channel siding. The ceiling continues to leak, so again I texted ***. On Saturday August 1st 2020, I was told by ***, "I just texted the roofing company that did the job" "Roofer said he'll be out there in the next couple hours." Three hours later, two males arrived; again their "solution" was to add even more caulk to the already overly caulked area; making the mess on my roof even worse and still not providing a fix to the leaking problem. I then was left with no choice, but to get on the roof and see for myself. While on the roof, I pointed out to the "roofer" that the shingles on the peak are upside down and the metal-water-flashing around the chimney was cut too short during installation. I asked the two guys the name of the roofing company they work for and they said they didn't know. I eventually asked them again the name of their roofing company and they told me they work for *** Weaver and not a roofing company. I then tried to call and text *** several times about the issues and got no response. Prior to the alleged "roofers" leaving, they tore off a section of shingle to color match my roof. The two guys returned with a bundle of shingles and got on the roof, again. I then went back up on the roof to see that they are about to replace the shingles with a very different color shingle than what is currently on my roof. I tell the guys to stop and call or text ***. After no response from ***, they leave and said they would be back Monday (Aug 3rd 2020). I continue to call and text *** several times; approximately over 140 text messages. Yet I still have not received a response. In conclusion, the he roof still leaks, the drywall will need to be repaired or replaced due to the water damage, my glass door still has nail scratches embedded in it and these "cosmetic" pillars are still 1/4 inch too short. In previous correspondences with ***, when questioned about the delay in work and when the approximate completion would be he would give multiple reasons like the the weather, the client (me), and COVID-19 the list goes on and on. But the facts remain, *** has not completed the project professionally, timely and correctly. I do not want others to fall victim to he and his company's careless and downright improper, unsafe construction. I am bothered by the fact that he has will say "it's funny" the client (me) doesn't recall certain aspects of our exchanges; on the contrary, I recall everything that was discussed and have text/ picture evidence of what has been discussed. There is nothing "funny" about this situation- this is serious and concerning that *** Weaver is somehow able to take on new construction projects, fool future clients with his promised services yet cannot even properly and correctly manage the projects he currently has in progress.

is providing incorrect information. So I
will clarify with documentation to support if required. The customer
signed 8/31/19 and the permit was received 12/9/19. The project was
started the week of 1/13/20. Customer requested additional work and
accepted the proposal on 2/5/20 after requesting a discount which we provided. We worked
at his home every week until the COVID 19 pandemic and at that time the
safety of our employees was our priority. We returned to finish the job
and the customer requested additional work. The work was completed and
a final inspection was performed through the City of Wentzville 7/24/20
and it passed inspection. Customer contacted *** via text he had a roof leak and
we sent an employee out on 7/28/20 to review the issue. We then sent
an employee out on Saturday 8/1/20 and the shingles did not match our employee brought to *** home due to
the vendor we purchased the original shingles from do not offer
Saturday hours so we purchased the shingles on Monday 8/3/20 from the
original vendor and will address the issue. The customer did not call
*** 200 times and unfortunately we do not work on Saturday and Sunday.
I personally have communicated to *** via email on this and his
comments and complaint are just not true. We have addressed the issue and have
communicated with him via email and have full intent to repair the issue
and then would like to get paid our balance due on the job in the
amount of $998.00. *** is someone who cannot be satisfied and
clearly does not care there is a pandemic or if it is raining we do not
send our employees on roofs for safety measures. Clearly there are two
sides to this project and I have full documentation to support my
response.

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Weaver is not addressing the issues here. Almost all my correspondents with *** Weaver are via text messages and we have corresponded back and forward on Saturdays. For some reason Weavers' want to blame the weather, pandemic, or customer for the bad work and damage to my property. They are here fixing the roof now but, the fix will not be known until the next few rains. My drywall ceiling has water damage, I still have scratches to my glass storm door, my two post still do not attached to the joist, supporting the structure as indicated in the blue prints. Still not sure why you would cut holes in the concrete and pour concrete piers that don't support the roof. I still have a large crack in the patio concrete where a sledge hammer was used to break the concrete when they did not use a concrete saw properly. And the city has told me Weaver never had them do an inspection on the two additional post and piers as required.

Sincerely

Scot did a fabulous job to repair a newly installed section of shake siding over my garage. The original siding contractor did not want to repair the siding, which had buckled and was not properly attached to the house due to lack of studs. Scot came in with two qualified carpenters who efficiently and professionally re-attached the siding to my home. It looked spectacular when completed, as promised and to my complete satisfaction!

We contracted with this company to do a kitchen remodel that should have taken at the most 4 weeks. It turned into 5 months. Walls were not sanded before painting. Incorrect measurements were taken for the countertops and then the countertops were installed and the open spaces filled with caulk. When asked about it, we were told it would be addressed, it was not. We were told the cabinets would have drawers and then found out they were not available in the size needed (after they were installed). They pulled people off the job whenever they wanted and made sure that we knew that we were not a priority. There are nicks and scratches on the countertops and were assured that this would be addressed. It was not. They will not be allowed back in our house.

I am sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied with your kitchen project. We would be happy to address the issues you have mentioned and correct them. Please let me know what we can do to make you completely satisfied with the work.

We have two contracts. Both contracts were signed on 5.10.18. Work on the first contract was completed, final payment was given on 7.31.18 and check was cashed. We noted issues after a rainstorm. Water is running behind the fascia and soffit panels, gutter guard to match existing gutter guard that was installed this year has not been addressed completely, area where new gable meets existing structure has opening/s that allow bugs or other small animals access to the attic space. There is a large gouge and scratch in the aluminum screen system that has not been repaired. The contract indicated contractor would wrap all 6 x 6 support posts in vinyl and that has not been addressed. There are costs that as a homeowner, I have paid out of pocket and have not been reimbursed. The electrician did not have the appropriate wiring to rough in electrical that consists of one ceiling fan that will be on remote control and four can lights that will be tied into original porch light. We supplied approximately 100' of 12/3 with ground wire. That charge has not been deducted from the invoice. We vs contractor removed the partial shed below deck with no adjustment in cost. The contractor quoted a price for a new roof and we were later charged any additional fee since the quote was incorrect. That amount was paid. As you can see, we have worked with the contractor as much as possible. We have a second contract to add aluminum soffit panels underneath the 12 x 30 deck with gutters and downspouts to control watershed. To create three walls with siding, 2 doors and 2 windows vs 3 that were quoted. When owner, *** was here to pick up final check, he was made aware of some of the issues that needed to be resolved. We had the second contract and *** advised that it would take three days to complete. We, unfortunately, assumed that all issues would be addressed in the second contract. We have made numerous calls to the office, to *** on his cell and sent numerous emails. Two weeks ago, *** was advised via email that if the work was not completed by today, 8.31.18, we would be contacting the Revdex.com for help in resolving our issues. We have also sent a complaint to the Attorney General this evening as well. We will be contacting Home Advisors since the contractor was referred by Home Advisors and that is how we made our initial contact. I will use social media to advise others of our issues with Leave It To Weaver. It is a very sad situation when contractors do not complete the work or follow up on touch ups and repairs. This has been a very expensive lesson and if we can make potential clients aware of our situation, hopefully, they will make better decisions. I feel we have been more than patient and *** and his office is aware that we were very frustrated, angry and upset, but to no avail.
We have referred our neighbor but that is before we have not had resolution to complete the contracted work.
The first contract specified the new structure of 2 x 10 treated material on 12" centers but placed at approximately 16". No change in contract price.
We would like *** to complete, repair etc what in good faith he has been paid. At this point, we are looking at other contractors to complete the second contract. We have been given dates the men will be out ,but an employee called in sick two days, it rained, another customer added to the contract and *** wanted to complete that project first. He never should have pulled his team to start another job until both contracts were completed and all issues addressed.

I have provided copies of emails reflecting all the communication between the *** and our company. Unfortunately in the construction industry the weather plays a key factor on exterior work. When there is rain in the forecast we try to accommodate our employees on interior work as they depend on us as their employer to provide them with full 40 hours per week. We never asked for the *** to pay for all the contracts in full and not finish the work. We simply followed the weather forecast and unfortunately it delayed on finishing their project. We have a full time receptionist at our office that is there to answer calls and emails and based on the copies I have attached that was performed with the ***. We are thrilled that this project is getting completed and hope they enjoy their new space.

To clarify on their complaint the wire the customer provided from a previous job he performed was 50' not 100' as is stated in the complaint and his email verifies that information.

I have also attached the final invoice on the project as well and the weather forecast for the month of August.

The work has been completed with our satisfaction.

I hired Leave It To Weaver Construction to build a detached garage. 7 month later, a garage was built, but they were too lazy to haul away the debris from the carport they tore out. They built the foundation on top of the rubble, leaving a slope into the garage so steep that I cannot drive in without scraping the underside of my car. That would be on the “good” side of the garage. The other side is completely Inaccessible. Weaver has made multiple promises to fix it, but they he just blows us off. He won’t return phone calls, emails or text kesssges. We have paid him $30,000, but I cannot park in my garage! This guy is a fraud and scam artist.

Good afternoon,

The homeowners property is located in a municipality that requires attending a meeting that is held monthly for explanation on proposed construction or changes to homes and businesses. Scot and myself attended the meeting on Monday July 17, 2017. The permit was finally issued through the City of Saint Charles on 9/30/17. Typically permits are issued within 2-3 weeks we had no control on what the municipality requires for the area they live in so to be clear the permit process was something completely out of our control. We provided documentation to the municipality on 6/21/17 and the permit was issued on 9/30/17. We have been working on their home and have communicated with the clients by email and through phone calls at our office. Scot met with the customers on December 12, 2017 and has full intentions of correcting the issues with gaining access into their garage. He is working at their home today. Unfortunately the weather plays a factor in pouring concrete as the temperatures will need to be at 40 degrees or above. We apologize this has taken longer than we expected but we are doing the best we can to make it right for the customer. I disagree at the comment Scot is a scam artist and a fraud but everyone has their own opinion. Tell us why here...
