I called to cancel as soon as I noticed it on my bill. number that was on my bank account information would not answer tried googling several times to get a different number after I got no return phone calls this started on may 27th. after calling from a different telephone number some one answered and I was given a different number after several times of trying to get answers about who done this and what it was. called on june 2nd at 11:04 spoke to [redacted] at the new number she assured me it would be canceled and I would receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. on june 8th at 10:38, I called again yet again she ( [redacted]) is working on it, I will receive a confirmation email in 24 hours. called on june 9th at 3:37 spoke to [redacted], [redacted] is out today I will receive a confirmation email in 24 hours. they are charging $199 a month on my bank account, I have yet to see anything out of this service. It was not authorized by ME the OWNER. I want it canceled immediately, and I want confirmation. I think it all seems very shady.Desired Settlement: I want it canceled immediately and I want confirmation that there will be no further charges billed to me.

Review: Web search usa built an ecommerce site and hosted it. The site was built and purchased to own. Owning the site I decided to move it to another hosting site but web search usa had canceled my site with [redacted] their hosting house, which caused a failed migration to [redacted] internet hosting site. I have been asking web search usa to correct the problem since Dec. 2014, but they putting me off with many excuses. When I requested them to reassemble the site I was told I would have to pay again. This is unfair to me because it was their mistake when they canceled the site with Hostgator before complete migration to [redacted].Desired Settlement: To reassemble original website from their company files and present to my company a complete ecommerce site which I paid for, so that I may migrate to a hosting site.

Re: [redacted] In reference to the case I.D. # [redacted], Web Search USA would like to submit the following response: Ms. [redacted] contacted Web Search USA to design and build an e-commerce website for her business Medi-Clasp. The project was begun on July 1, 2011. After close to a year of work, and just prior to publishing, the site was put on hold per Ms. [redacted], in order to re-design products offered on the site. At that point all design work on the website was stopped until further notice. It was approximately 18 months (possibly longer) until we were given the “go ahead “to complete the project. At that point, Ms. [redacted] was advised that the platform originally used to create the site had been updated several times and we strongly suggested that she convert the entire site to an up to date platform. In this industry two years is often times a lifetime in terms of latest and greatest technology. Unfortunately we were unable to come to a consensus and completed the site using the initial platform (Drupal 6). All content images and site files then became her property. The site was completed, fully functioning and published in the summer of 2014). All content, images and site files then became her property. Ms. [redacted] was given the opportunity to come to our offices and receive several hours of tutoring in order to make content updates as she saw fit. This is a service we rarely extend to clients due to the danger of file corruption. Several months later, Ms. [redacted] informed us that she would be taking her website to another hosting company and requested our site credentials in order to migrate/transfer the site. Given the fact that all websites created by our firm become property of the client once our job is completed, we respectfully obliged with all information required in order to facilitate this transaction. (Cpanel username and password along with FTP information needed) We offered to do the transfer for her, at a cost of course, however she declined that service and elected to have another party facilitate the transfer. Once we provided the required information our responsibility for the site was terminated and we would not be liable for any files damaged or corrupted during migration. Had we been the company charged with facilitating the transfer, this would not be the case. Ms. [redacted] has stated that Web Search USA has deliberately removed files form our server before the transfer was commenced. This is not and would never be the case. All website files are backed-up by our hosting company on a weekly basis and the fact is the site files were still backed up on our server until just recently. In addition, we also invited Ms. [redacted] to our office in order to provide her with all CGI bin files that we had stored locally. Unfortunately the person/ persons retained by Ms. [redacted] prematurely began the transfer process before backing the entire site up through our Hosting Company (Host Gator). I have spoken several time with our representative at Host Gator and they stated that as a general rule, when a client wishes to transfer out of their service that entity requests back-up which they gladly provide at no cost. Our team has done everything in its power to assist in completing this transfer after hearing of the difficulties, but there are limits to our abilities once a file has been removed from our server. Prior to compiling this response, we contacted Host Gator again and were assured that we had followed all protocol in order to allow transfer out of our server. Being that seven months have passed since the initial attempt to transfer this site, the files are no longer store by Host Gator. It is most unfortunate that this could all have been avoided had the initial person making the transfer taken advantage of Host Gator’s free back-up service and done some homework regarding the transfer of a Drupal website. This is technology and one missed character or protocol can spell disaster. The following excerpt comes directly from Host Gator: Transfers Our Transfers Team will make every effort to help you move your website to us. Transfers are provided as a courtesy service. We do not make any guarantees regarding the availability, possibility, or time required to complete an account transfer. Each hosting company is configured differently, and some hosting platforms save data in an incompatible or proprietary format, which may make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to migrate some or all account data. In some cases we may not be able to assist you in a transfer of data from an old host. The free transfer service is available for thirty (30) days from your sign up date. Transfers outside of the thirty (30) day period will incur a charge; please contact a member of our Transfers department to receive a price quote. In no event shall HostGator be held liable for any lost or missing data or files resulting from a transfer to or from HostGator. You are solely responsible for backing up your data in all circumstances. We at Web Search USA have been in the same industry for over a decade and are committed to our client’s satisfaction and success. Many other companies similar to us have come and gone, yet we remain and will continue to provide the most up to date comprehensive service possible. We hope this adds insight into this particular case. Respectfully, Web Search USA
