Webbland Farm Excavating Corp. Reviews (2)

We did a complete side work on his house, we dug a big pond and did seeding and strawing. I recommended straw blankets in the ditch, and then when it rained he got washout in his ditch. He paid us by the hour, we charged him what we did. Before he gave final payment, I asked him are you happy and he...

said yes. If he wasn't happy he wouldn't have paid us. He called me after and I went out there and he would not come out of his house at all. Then when that happened I stopped answering the phone.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The owner of the company is not speaking the truth.First of all I hesitated in giving the owner of the company final payment because I had not had time to go around the property and inspect all of the work that the company had supposedly finished.  I ask the owner during our conversation if I found anything that wasn't to my satisfaction if he would return and make it right after receiving final payment.  The owner of the company said if I found anything that was not to my satisfaction that he would return and make it right.  I reiterated that I was going to give him final payment as he demanded but I was uncomfortable doing so because I had been burnt by making final payment before inspecting a contractors work in the past.  The owner of the company reassured me that he wouldn't do me that way.  I reluctantly gave him final payment.  I then found issues with the work that the company had performed and called the owner on the phone and he said that he might be able to stop out in a day or so.  I never heard from him.  I finally raised him on the phone sometime later, he said he had been busy.  He said he would stop out sometime that week.  I never heard from him.  I ask you, if he had stopped out and I was home and had issues with his work why would I not come out of my house?  Is the owner insinuating that I am intimidated by him?  I do not understand that statement.  The owner of the company says that I must have been saitisfied or I wouldn't have made final payment.  It's obvious I am not satisfied in the fact that I called him and he supposedly came to my home and I wouldn't come out of my house.  Then the owner of the company said he quit answering the phone after he supposedly came to my house and I wouldn't come out to go over the issues, what kind of proffesionaism is that?  If he supposedly came to my house and I would not come out, why wouldn't he call me on the phone and say "I'm here to talk about your issues"?  The fact is the owner of the company has never been back out to my house, the owner of the company that built my house told me so!  It is just a shame that there is no longer any integrity in a mans word anymore.  I am sure there are some good ones left but the majority of the contractors today have a hit and run mentality.  They hit you with a poorly executed job and then they run with your money.
