This complaint was actually made against a company that operates it's rental business on Webhannet River Boat Yard, Incpremises. The customer was not aware that *** *** *** *** was a separate entity. We share a beach access to Wells Harbor. *** rented kayaks from our
facility and had an unpleasant experience when returning to our beach with the owner of the jet ski rental company. We sent the following email to *** in response as soon as we were made aware, the following morning:*** & family, I am deeply sorry for your experience here at our facility. My husband and I pride ourselves in offering a relaxing, family friendly atmosphere in which to explore the harbor. I was not made aware of the incident until this morningI regret that I was unavailable upon your return.We strive to provide staff that are friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. I would never tolerate rudeness or threatening action of any employee of Webhannet River Boat Yard, Inc.*** *** *** *** is a separate entity from Webhannet River Boat Yard, Inc. We have expressed our concern to ***, the owner, and expressed how inappropriate we believe his actions were. This is clearly not the message we want to convey to our public, to you or your familyOur staff has been instructed to report any future incident directly to myself or my husband, immediately, should it ever happen again. I assure you we will work diligently to avoid a repeat occurrence. I know it is a lot to ask, but please, accept our apology, it is heartfelt. At a minimum, we would like to refund your purchase, and give you a gift certificate to try our facility again. Over the many years we have operated here at Wells Harbor, we have helped to foster many family’s fond memories. Please give us a chance to create a better lasting impression with yours. *** ***PresidentI then followed up with a personal phone call, and she came in to the store, we refunded her kayak rental purchase and provided her with a gift certificate for a future event. I believe *** to be on good terms with our business and satisfied with how Webhannet River Boat Yard, Incresolved her complaint, and truly hope she will return again next summer:)
